Really cool, I didn't know the spindles were a weak point that needed to be reinforced. I have never seen anyone do that on an impala is it a g-body, Cadillac specific reinforcement?
I always recommend somthing that uses gas shielding lowes and home depot sell pretty decent welders for just beginning I would try to get something that's 220 powered but I have seen plenty of builds done with a 110 welder I would try to stay away from flux core.
I wouldnt recommend it but I have seen it done on cars with big wheels I cant say how long it lasted but I would definitely take it to a professional welder and they may still not want to touch it due to the liability you would be better ordering a lift spindle for a truck
Folks love to whine about paint on rotor surfaces- like you I’ve always owned cars that magically took the paint right off after a few stops and never had an issue 😂👍
Yeah i never really understood it the rotors rust over night and as soon as you drive it the rust is cleaned right off so it will so the same with paint
More great advice thank you Cadillac dan
Thanks!

Good stuff!!!!!now we need to figure out how to reinforce the shafts on the spindles where the rotor is bolted up to,😆😆😆
I kind of know a way but not quite sure how it would work
Good to know thank you for this video
No problem I seen your spindles those things are awesome
Could you please do a video on making a battery rack? I feel like a lot of steps are skipped or looked over in other videos.
I will be doing one in the distant future
How long did you heat up the spindle before welding?
The way I was taught is heat it up untill you can spit on it and the spit beads off roughly around 300 degrees
@@thecadillacdanshow8658 thank you!
Can’t wait to see the Hulk updates
They are coming I'm still waiting on some parts

Its mainly for hoppers it can be done on all cars
What size angle iron do you recommend?
I use 2x2 3/16 thick
Looks like it is a pain to tighten up those ball joints. Looks really nice and strong
Really wasnt I was concerned but it all went together easily even the cotter pin

@@thecadillacdanshow8658 good info bro & thx u… & keep ur videos coming !!!
D u think if u were to cut one and extend it but reinforce it that it will hold up ?. Not just for lay n play but for like a street hopper ?
