This video is incredibly informative! I learned so much about the right way to stay hydrated and the critical role water plays in kidney health. Keep up the great work!
Dr. Barbara O'Neil also recommends that taking a small crystal of Celtic salt before drinking your glass of water to replenish minerals lost especially magnesium because this mineral will help the water to enter the cells more efficiently ❤
At 17:49 you say to drink water "during meals." But hydration podcaster Dr. Barbara O'Neill says not to drink water "during" meals, as it dilutes the stomach HCL, hydrochloric acid needed to digest food.

@@kathleenking47 I use those salts to, but remember, it is still primarily sodium chloride. Leafy greens with oil (and Celtic salt!) will get you those minerals a lot faster (every day, the size of your head). You will overload on greens eventually, so switch it up with lightly cooked greens or some root vegetables (beets, carrots) every few days. Half of everything you eat should be a whole vegetable or fruit. Cook greens more or eat less fruit if you tend to get mushy down below. Try having a "hot salad" if you start burning out on fresh greens.
Hydration is not just about drinking water, but includes all types of fluids and even water-rich foods. Both overhydration and dehydration can be harmful to the kidneys; too much water can dilute the sodium levels in the blood, while too little water can cause dehydration-related kidney stress. To stay hydrated, it is best to sip water throughout the day, pay attention to thirst cues, and check the color of your urine for balance. Additionally, while electrolyte drinks are helpful during strenuous activity, natural sources like fruits and leafy greens are often the most nutritious.
Looks like I pass because I only drink about maybe quart or more a day if I were to guess as I don't measure water intake, but surely double that when doing outdoor activities, and then I just listen to my body and drink when I'm somewhat thirsty, and I do drink dark bold coffee and sometimes tea, but mostly coffee... Also, I rarely drink alcohol... Maybe a couple beers a year during some holidays and a glass of Champaign on New Years, but that's it... I also don't smoke or do drugs, never have, never will... I'm planning to live to 120 yrs. and I'm already 60, yet people say I look like I'm 25 to 30..... Yes, it's been a good life so far and I do miss the 1960's & 70's and seen so many changes over the decades, and traveled & explored 48 States, every National Park, and thousands or cities & towns, and half of Canada too, and a couple dozen Caribbean Cruises too... So much more to see & do in this life, so yes, it's imperative to take good care of your health... Also, eating healthy is important too, and for exercise, do NOT run or jog, but rather better to go on long walks and work out with light weights, and go swimming too, but not in chlorine pools because those chemicals will soak into your skin... Swim in clean & clear lakes, nothing murky, and though swimming in the ocean is good, it could be too dangerous in my opinion.... GOOD LUCK and see you all in the FAR FAR FAR FUTURE in 2084, that's when I will be 120 years old.... LOL
Water is a must but has to be balanced , alkaline water not to much , pomegranate juice " watch the sugar intake " , lemon water , coconut water . Each body has a different intake , just have to tune in to your needs . Great video though .
I have hypernutremia currently. I just happened upon this video. I had homemade Asian food, sodium chloride tablet and pickles. Very full! Repeat labs on Friday.
Part of that is due to our foods being degraded. What with toxic chemicals, aka..pesticides..herbicides and all the other "cides" in our food chain we're being slowly poisoned. Not to mention farm soil being depleted to neer cement because of all the above "cides" and chemical..artificial fertilizers ..how can good healthy food be grown?! Before 1950 the soil on farms weren't subjected to an overabundance of chemicals. But loans for seed and machinery began to be awarded, almost exclusively, to farmers with the caviar "insurance" of large amounts of pesticides and chemical fertilizers used. No chemicals ..equals..no loan. Our soil is depleted and can't produce good vitamin rich foods. They..look good, but don't aren't as healthy as certified organic grown foods. We are what we eat after all!!
What about drinking alkaline water as a safer way to drink your water? Does it help if you already have reduced kidney function? I'm drinking it only when I am thirsty ...
A contradiction: at 17:20 you say that drinking "black coffee" and "green tea" (both which have caffeine) is a good alternative to "coffee" and "tea" that have caffeine.
Unfortunately, many supplements will change the color of urine therefore confusing the issue. And lithium cause my kidneys harm over the years so consequently, I now have Chronic Kidney Disease.
I find this video problematic. I know people who would listen to this and be so scared of over-hydration that they don't drink enough, when needed. Even one cup of caffeinated beverages daily, can be problematic for some people. It depletes magnesium stores, throwing off the electrolyte balance. I can see people getting analysis paralysis from this info overload and still ending up with issues
I use an app based on my weight to keep track. Also, I believe Harvard says women should drink about 91 oz...here in the the Southwest, which is very dry, add about 10% in this type of climate.
Drinking water isn’t just about how much to drink but also how to drink it correctly! If you’re not careful, drinking too much or too little can seriously damage your kidneys
Wow, who knew that something as simple as drinking water could be done incorrectly? Time to rethink my hydration habits-my kidneys will thank me later! 🚰💧
Worrying about being healthy is shortening my life.
Same, I think I lost a year for every minute I watched 😂
Use some CELTIC salt
With water
Some drinks cause
Dehydration..like coffee, etc
Take your kidney health seriously, excellent video!
Thank you for setting the record straight !
Thanks!

Thanks for breaking it down so clearly.
Thanks for your sharing of this video which is informative and helpful in keeping our body hydrated

I haven't looked but I'll bet this is by a chiropractor.
Good information
How of water do i drink in day
Like with everything balance is key. 😊
What about drinking alkaline water as a safer way to drink your water? Does it help if you already have reduced kidney function? I'm drinking it only when I am thirsty ...
Alkaline water every other day , alkaline water has benefits
A contradiction: at 17:20 you say that drinking "black coffee" and "green tea" (both which have caffeine) is a good alternative to "coffee" and "tea" that have caffeine.
And "sparkling water" has carbonic acid, which draws calcium from the bones. Yes?
Please what's the cause i have a bad taste on my tongue when i eat something sweet?
1:37 "24 quarts of water over 24 hours". We can guess that amount of water, may be a bit much.
😱😱😱😱😱
Doctor said drink 8 glasses of water a day and my stomach cannot hold this much water.
That is throughout the day….water goes through the digestive system soon, so capacity is not an issue here.
uncross your legs and relieve the pressure. to make room
Unfortunately, many supplements will change the color of urine therefore confusing the issue. And lithium cause my kidneys harm over the years so consequently, I now have Chronic Kidney Disease.
Does drinking too much water remove your water soluble vitamins? And should they be replaced?
Also how will you know if your vitamins need to be replaced?
Just drink 2 liters a day. That's enough
@@georgeray649 Replay this video, see that advice contravened.

I see we all have to live on TH-cam to control our life our
