Almost 30 years ago I moved to the US from the UK. I had a collection of over 100 Laserdiscs, which I put up for sale before the move. A guy came to check them out and he bought the entire collection. He was like a kid in a candy store! This was before DVD ever existed. Laserdisc was the pinnacle of movie collecting back then.
Laserdisc is such a cool format to collect. I definitely recommend getting a Pioneer player. Also, A Nightmare on Elm Street 1 & 5 are uncut on Laserdisc, and also Scream is uncut.
That DTS copy of 12 monkeys would fetch a good hundred bucks on eBay alone. Dude… You have a lot of really good uncommon titles there! As a massive laserdisc collector, there are folks who would pay an arm and a leg to have some of those hard to find titles!! BRAVO!!!
I regret getting rid of my original “Star Wars” trilogy on laserdisc after my laserdisc player busted. I had a pretty nice collection that I picked up all used in the 90s with a lot of bangers. The sound was great on those. I had a pioneer player, but I had to get up and flip the discs after each side played. I didn’t mind because I used them as bathroom breaks. I just sold them all too a pawn shop, because I needed the space. Definitely should have kept those Star Wars discs if only just for display. Not quite sure how a laserdisc would look connecting it through an HDMI adapter to a modern TV. I only had a CRT TV when I owned a working LD player.
Pioneer was always the best players, get a Pioneer.I have the CLD-D701 solid state laser.Jog and Shuttle with ring on remote as well as the machine itself.Get the THX cables for your AC-3(Dolby Digital) and make sure it's connected to your audio system.
Guaranteed almost nobody else has most of these movies on Laserdisc, so that collection is amazing. I would be honored to have a collection that strange.
Yes they would. If you haven’t watched every movie ever made and memorized the release date and cast & crew for each, you’re undeserving of the worlds biggest film aficionado title.
11:23, Ken, I am really pleased that you showed the Body Double 4K steel coming soon along with the Laserdisc version! I have this movie on an Indicator Blu-ray.
MAN those are some rare titles on laserdisc...im sure your sitting on a small fortune there ken! And by the way...if you decide to order a laserdisc player make SURE you purchase a " HDMI to analog converter, otherwise you wont be able to hook it up to your tv
Death Ring features Patrick Swayze's brother, Steve McQueen's son and Chuck Norris's son, they only use they're last name on the cover to fool people like me to rent they're movie, and yes in the 90s it worked. I think you received The Big Hit on vhs.
I loved my Laserdisc collection, We had no problems with True Lies, we had NTSC format for the imports (US) and PAL for the UK, I had the Pioneer player with the dual laser so I didn't have to get up to turn the disc over midway thru the film, those were the days l😂
Holy smokes that’s really cool! Congratulations Ken and I remember when Laserdiscs were the big physical media edition and I’m glad you could get them from the person. I’ve seen some pictures of movies like Batman, Friday The 13th and A Nightmare On Elm Street on the medium. Very awesome and ty for sharing with us. The content you do is amazing and keep up the fabulous work please man!
A lot of us laserdisc collectors had a bunch of those cheap B movies. You'd find them in bins at stores that sold laserdiscs on clearance, new for usually $3-$5. Since it was as cheap as renting, you'd just buy anything that looked interesting. It made for some unique collections. It's crazy to me that people like Vinegar Syndrome get people to pay $30+ for the same B movies now.
Hi Ken. Interesting to see the laserdiscs that have been sent to you. A few there that are hard to come by. I’m not sure they are necessarily great movies at all but fun nonetheless. I still have around 1300 laserdiscs and enjoy them. I have a few of the ones you showed including that box set edition of Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Hey heads up unless your tv have video or a receiver that has composite or components u will not be able to watch u going have to get some sort of conversation to watch movies
Congrats on the collection. The first time I saw Aliens was on Laser Disc at my uncle's when I was very young so I really can appreciate this, very cool.
I was in Walmart yesterday and lo and behold there was the 4K steelbook of Star Trek: The Search For Spock. Of course, I grabbed a copy. As for laser discs, I have one, given to me by a friend because we both have the same interests concerning the movie. It's John Wayne's epic The Alamo The Directors Cut. It's 202 minutes compared to the dvd release of 162 minutes. Also has a documentary about the making of The Alamo that is very interesting. To bad I don't have a laser disc players, so it just sits here.
Prom Night 2 had a DVD from MGM. That's the best version out there. Please get the original Prom Night. It's a great slasher and it has Jamie Lee Curtis staring in it. Can't believe you've never seen it.

That’s really cool, your viewers are awesome
You should show the back of the boxes 🎉
5:52 even the person who “claims” to be the “Biggest movie lover” will EVER know every movie that has been released
Yes they would. If you haven’t watched every movie ever made and memorized the release date and cast & crew for each, you’re undeserving of the worlds biggest film aficionado title.

I have 1 laserdisc boxset. 1997-98 star wars special edition box set. Watched it a few times before the advent of dvd and bluray. Now its a trophy
11:23, Ken, I am really pleased that you showed the Body Double 4K steel coming soon along with the Laserdisc version! I have this movie on an Indicator Blu-ray.

I have that Prom Night 2 laserdisc, it did have a single release widescreen DVD from MGM years ago. I bet Predator 2 kicks ass on laserdisc.
Out of the Darkness is a TV movie procedural about the hunt for the Son of Sam.

Dude, you got some bad-ass Billy Drago double-feature there. Diplomatic Immunity needs to be on Blu Ray!
LoL I ordered that steel and lace from the VS sale earlier this month.
I've ever owned just one laser disc, never watched. Heavy Metal (1980). I bought it on clearance and still have it somewhere.
Laserdisc was the betamax of discs!
Omg! Wow, like a dream box set
I LOVE Prom Night II!
Best way to watch original Star Wars trilogy before Lucas started to mess with it
Best *official* way I’d say
The 4K fan restorations look really good
Little Giants (the football one) was one of my favorite childhood movies.
How about Little Monsters?
Death ring stars Patrick swayze 's brother Don swayze not patrick!
Hey heads up unless your tv have video or a receiver that has composite or components u will not be able to watch u going have to get some sort of conversation to watch movies
What a great collection for free! As a dealer of laserdiscs, there is about 50% of those titles that I don't have in my inventory.
You are wrong Ken. We need Prom Night 2 II on 4k
I agree 100%
Laser disc I will not let it go...awesome stuff man
Congrats on the collection. The first time I saw Aliens was on Laser Disc at my uncle's when I was very young so I really can appreciate this, very cool.
I’m a big laserdisc fan, live south of you in TN and happy to find them a good home
Wished you had shown us the back side of those Laserdiscs. 😂
I liked Intersection with Sharon Stone and Richard Gere; haven't seen it in forever. Underrated. I had it on laserdisc in the 90s.
That’s the dodgiest laserdisc collection I’ve ever seen! Haha. I miss my laserdiscs. Had about 70 - weighed more than my car haha.

I'm a huge movie buff and I haven't heard of most of these LD!😆LoL
Wow, 30 laserdics!
Wtf is a laser disc. Was it for rich people on the 90s or what
Now that you have a start of a laser disc collection, it won’t be long before the hillbilly cat is back hunting for the laser discs ol
I still have my Laserdisc player in full working order.I'll take them off your hands.
If you don't want them send them to me
Prom Night 2 had a DVD from MGM. That's the best version out there. Please get the original Prom Night. It's a great slasher and it has Jamie Lee Curtis staring in it. Can't believe you've never seen it.
It's a mad mad mad mad world is an awesome watch
Now you have to buy a Laser Disc player to watch some of the worst movies of all time...🤭 and some good ones in there towards the bottom of the pile
I prefer CED over laserdisc. 😉

Wow, Nice collection but it's ashame about the condition they are in....
