I’m a former college softball player now coaching my son’s tball team. Your content is by far the best I have seen for coaching kids. Straight to the point. I don’t have all day to listen to these baseball players’ life stories 😂
Coaches 5/6 tball last year as a Voluntold.. doing 7/8 this year as my daughter moves up. These videos will be on repeat and homework for the parents. Great job at breaking it down to some one who played neighborhood baseball, trying to mold the next gen.
Thank you for these videos. I played baseball many years, but then my daughter got into softball, and i try to give her pointers but I’m not explaining it well. You helped me with this. I appreciate it
I’m going to be playing fastpitch softball for my first time ever in the spring I hope this helps!! I cannot wait! I’m 18 and I just wanted to try a sport I always loved!
Thank you so much for your videos this my daughter first year of softball playing 12u your videos have been so helpfull an inspirational to her she has improved in her defense an offense watch your videos
I just wanted to say thank you for the amazing video. I coach rookies in softball, Im definitely going to share this with the team to work at home and we will do at practice.Ill let you know how they do
I want that CF8 you’re swinging lol,I coach 2 12u softball teams a rec league and tournament and my daughter ❤’s the CF7 that she swings But want to get her a cf8,they are hard to come bye or they are too expensive for me to buy even for used ones daughters face would light up if I ever came home with that bat for her We always sit down and watch you vids and we both love them Thanks and keep it going
Thanks for this video. I'm working with 8U kids that are all over the place with every part of their swing, from just standing correctly at the plate to dropping the bat after contact. I usually start with their feet placement, but after than that, is there a good order/hierarchy to getting all parts of their swing together? They don't take too many instructions before they' start staring into space, lol...
Awesome video! Can you give advice as it relates to hitting stance, specifically with feet placement for a 6 year old? I've had my daughter change to a more staggered stance. What are the pros/cons of a staggered stance to a traditional stance?
Do you teach this to girls that are 6? My daughter's team is struggling. Most can't make contact with the ball yet. Coach isn't great but is the only one who signed up. I tried helping today. Most girls did better but definitely didn't use this form which looks far superior. My problem is I'm not sure most of them would understand it. Pretty sure one of them was trying your form. Tons of power, zero control. I am struggling to get them to just swing straight across so many are chopping the bat downward and doing weird things with their elbows and hands.
6 is really young but you can try and simplify it even more. Take out a bunch “steps.” Focus on the load - hands back and front foot down. Tell them if you go around and push them, they aren’t strong enough in their legs. Going to contact - knob to the ball and then barrel. Back toes should be towards the pitcher (which means they are using bottom half). Extension- point the barrel back to the pitcher. Follow through.
Ima 25 year old grown man and this helps me contextualize a swing much easier then alot other of videos🤣🤣 (probably cause its explained for 5 year old BUT SHHH) I've never had the chance to play SB till this year but thanks to you tho Meg ima be connecting alot better ⚾️⚾️
so you only use your hands after contact? to extend. also how do I improve my swing? My swing looks so slow it looks like im swinging the bat slower than the girl at the end of the video and I dont know what im doing wrong.
Throw front toss but don't let them swing. Have them instead say "yes" or "no" right when they should swing. Yes to the strikes, no to the balls. This will help track the ball all the way in and focus a bit more.
Watched this video before my game, copied your form and hit 3 home runs and a triple! Watching this is going to be my new pregame ritual. Thank you!
Dang! Great work

Omg same just not the homerun part

Haha thank you! That was my goal when I started this- straight and to the point because I hate the drawn out videos too
"I'm going to talk to you like a 5 year old. Picture me ripping you apart." That part got me 😂
Maybe that was too aggressive 😂
@@MegRemSoftball It helped me visual how to teach my little girls.
Ha yeah I thought it was going to be the rubber band stretch example, but nope straight to the ripping guts out lol
I love that part! I love sharing your videos with my teams . Thank you again 😊

Thank you for the kind words! Glad it's helpful!
Loved this. Have a 5 and 10 yo in softball and visualizing the "load step" for them was very helpful. 💪🏽
Thank you so much for simplifying for a 5 year old, old army veteran coaching my kids in tball and softball so I need it broke down on that level.
That has always been my goal! Explain it so any one of any age can understand! PS thank you for your service!
I was an Army vet......and I had your same problem when I began coaching.
I never played when I was young but now I'm helping my 9 year old learn thanks to your videos. They are the best
Same here. Trying to teach my 8 year old, ended up learning for myself so I can teach her better
this is the base basic stance/hitting video I have ever seen..short, too the point and loaded with tips, love it!
Short and to the point is my goal!
You’re an amazing athlete and teacher. I use your drills and info to teach youth baseball players. Thank you!
Thank you, Jason!
My son listens to you, and it helps him keep his focus. He started playing late, but is catching up very quickly. Thank you!
Love it!
Teach kids how to play softball that’s good most kids don’t know nothing matters so long as you have fun that’s all that matters
This a great video-thanks. I’m teaching hitting on an 8U team, and will implement these steps next practice!
Thank you for these videos. I played baseball many years, but then my daughter got into softball, and i try to give her pointers but I’m not explaining it well. You helped me with this. I appreciate it
And this is why I keep going. Thank you for the message!

Great content and you are super fit!
I'm coaching my daughter's team. I know what we're practicing in the off season. great video!
Thank you!
This is an extremely informative video. Big thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
Any good drills or videos on how to keep palm up plan down and not break wrists too soon? Thank you for the amazing content!

staggered stance may cause her to be too open or too closed, which can in turn be tough to hit the outside pitch or turn on an inside pitch.
Very well done! keeps in simple. thank you.
Thank you!
My daughter is 11 and it's her first season playing FP softball. She was playing baseball previously. What adjustments should she make for FPS?
Check out my video “how to time up the pitcher in softball.” That’ll be the biggest adjustment!
Her biceps just popping off. Goddamn girl 😭
💪🏼

Hey, easier the better! Good luck!
I was going to make a nearly verbatim comment with the exception of a 29 year old man instead of 25 😂.
@@MegRemSoftball I went 9-10 in my 1st 2 softball games very 1st game I went 5-5💪 Legggooo

like im pretty sure I understand the form but I dont know how to practice so that I get good form. My form looks kind of okay but something is missing
Email me your swing! Megan@megremsoftball.com and I’ll check it out
How high do you set up tee
It can be set up however high or low you want!
Keep up the great content
Thank you!
Are you a softball coach
Is your power hand suppose to be on top or bottom?
Top
Thank you
Great
So just so I am clear the load happens as the pitcher is about to throw the ball.
Correct. When the pitcher is on her down motion you start to load.
@@MegRemSoftball of course right after I asked this I saw it in another video!! Love your videos!! Helping me get re aquatinted with the basics
😍😘😘
My 9 year old daughter is playing her 1st season of softball I’m trying to help her learn perfect hitting style
I love this, but it is actually too complicated for a 5 year old...
Better to explain why, For example why keep head still ? What reason
So you can see the ball and hit the ball.
meg love
Thank you I’m 8 years old and my montold me to watch me
mon v 9 january 2023 love mge mon janruay 2023
Not sure if telling a 5 year old that they should feel like their insides are being ripped apart lol
But they listen 😜
5yo me 70% -30% ???
You must coach some wicked smart 5 year olds lol
How do you teach these little to recognize a good pitch from a bad pitch? They swing at everything. 🤦🏼♀️
Throw front toss but don't let them swing. Have them instead say "yes" or "no" right when they should swing. Yes to the strikes, no to the balls. This will help track the ball all the way in and focus a bit more.
Put those guns away
Thank you!!
Perfect simple explanation. And no mention of “swinging down” which is super wrong
LOVE THE CONFUSION FAILLLL😂😂😂😂
