Let's be real, most people will not even come close to 4000 netto a month in the Netherlands. Average salaries are 3000 before taxes, which roughly will come down to 2000 after. Amsterdam is unaffordable for most people.

      Unfortunately that's true

@@TheMovementHub I live in the Netherlands. I work 36 hours per week at McDonalds and I make more than 2000€. And it is close to minimum wage so people here are making way more than that. I live here, I know what I am talking about.

I think they are quite conservative about Amsterdam expenses
The rent is a huge problem if you are lucky. Usually the rental companies will ask to see proof your salary is 5 times than a month's rent. In Amsterdam an average rent is at least 1700 euros so unless you have a partner working a great job you cant get a rental.
You need to cook at home to make ends meet
Tram and public transport is expensive so consider having a bycicle
They mentioned they just make ends meet.
I lived in Amsterdam for 3 months and it was enough
I think is great to take the car or train and experience it for the day instead of renting or living there

But why did you come here if you knew that already? I don't understand all the expats. Is it to show off on your C.V. that you've worked/lived here? 😏 It's very expensive to live here, and tbh: we don't really need you folks to come here. We have had enough of all the foreigners. It's only becoming more and more overcrowded.

I bought an apartment in 2008 for 131 000 in Amsterdam. My monthly mortgage was 250,00 per month but i had to sell it for reasons.
I'm considering to move to Spain.

Love your episodes. Have you interviewed any Brits as yet? Interested to hear about their views specially if they have moved since Brexit.
I'm thinking of moving later this year depending on a few jobs.

Hi Tony. Thanks a lot for your comment. Makes me happy to hear that you enjoy it. Unfortunately I don't have any Brits in my interviews for Amsterdam. The next thing that I am focusing on is editing the Berlin and Prague series. Although there are still several topics left to publish for Amsterdam.
