The lyrics for View were actually written by Jonghyun! He used to host a radio show and received a call one night from someone who has synesthesia. He later wrote the lyrics to this song inspired by synesthesia.

SHINee upped the game for kpop group choreos with LUCIFER 10 Years ago. Coz of it kpop group dances were started to be taken seriously back then.
And VIEW introed the DEEP HOUSE GENRE in Kpop. Deep House became hit and tons next releases were that genre.
In Lucifer taemin is the one with red pants. The one u thought was him is Minho.

SHINee debuted in 2008 with the song Replay; Lucifer came in 2010. Taemin was the one with long hair wearing black top and red pants (when everyone else was wearing white). The dance practice video for this has started the trend of kpop dance practice videos which we often see now. And Lucifer has also inspired other groups to have more synchronized, harder choreo.
View is a song written by Jonghyun, with the lyrics of the chorus literally translated to "you are a very beautiful view". This song also introduced the deep house genre into kpop.
These 2 songs are iconic and shows SHINee as being experimental and trendsetters.

Actually Lucifer was one of the first kpop song who've bring hard dance move in Kpop (Shinee are well known in the industry to being THE groupe who've bring "hard dance move, Original & Fashion styles "clothes", original hair styles, & amazing performance & they've touch of a lot of different music style ) Known to be The Prince of Kpop everyone in the industry respect them because its most part because of them that the kpop is the way it's today, & its not me just saying this , i know almost all kpop groupe since their debut & i saw the evolution "the tv show & else who've talk about them back then etc" & hae said those thing
Ya'll tryna explain a simple bop is hilarious. Also I have never heard anyone pronounce Taemin's name as Taemeen lol. It throughs me off every time. I'm glad they are back after losing Jonghyun, but man I miss his voice. Shinee is so strong. Their new music is awesome as well but my all time fave is Hello.

I've been trying to figure out why it sounds so weird; I think it's a combination of the American accents/Korean pronunciation and the emphasis on the wrong syllable. it's on the second syllable instead of the first, so it's more noticeable. taeMEEN.

Lucifer is the song that made Shiner known all over the world.. this is their biggest hit today...
In the "Lucifer" MV the SHINee members don't have superpowers, but the "smoke" or "light trail" you see is supposed to represent the aura of a girl who has devilish powers like Lucifer, who is trying to possess them and take over their lives. As the English lines in the song say, "Loveaholic, robotronic ... her whisper is the Lucifer." (They are using auto tune because they are supposed to be "robotronic"-ly controlled by the girl who is "The Lucifer." So the auto tune is meant to make them sound robotic.) So, in other words, the women or girl they are talking about is so desirable that she is like Lucifer and you have to use all your willpower just to resist her wiles. In the MV you see them trying to fight against her powers and resist her attempts to try to make them bend to her will, etc. That's why in the choreography you see all the robotic moves because they are showing how "Lucifer" is trying to control them like a robot -- for example, they put their wrists together like they are being handcuffed to show how she is trapping them. And they vibrate to show how they are being manipulated by "Lucifer" and they are trying to resist her powers, etc. (FYI: That vibration you saw them do is 100% them actually shaking like that, there aren't any camera tricks. If you pay attention when they perform Lucifer live, you will see them do that exact same thing. :D)
LOL we have no idea why they had to be dancing in front of a sports car, but that was kind of an iconic thing that Kpop companies did back then in a lot of their MVs, The group would dance around a fancy car to showoff their coolness and to give the video a more futuristic, expensive looking aesthetic.
"Lucifer" came out in 2010, more than 10 years ago, so this was just the look that a lot of MVs had back then. Just take a look at TVXQ, Super Junior, Infinite or 2PM MV, etc. from around that time and you will see a similar look and style. SHINee was setting trends in the industry with 'Lucifer." LOL I am happy you actually appreciate the uniqueness of their hairstyles and outfits. I'm not sure why people are often so thrown by their hairstyles and outfits in this MV. :D I think they are actually all pretty cool for doing something different that sets them apart from everyone else in the industry. And that is what makes SHINee legends and why "Lucifer" is such an iconic song and dance.You're not going to remember a group or a song if they look and sound the same as everyone else, you remember them for standing out and not being afraid to be unique.
Key is our diva and fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. And SHINee are known for setting trends and never being afraid to experiment with their sound or look, so Key's head was 100% really shaved bald on the one side. What you see is his head has been shaved all the way down to his scalp. He is known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. That's why Key's style is often just straddling the edge of outrageous, but somehow always manages to look cool.
This was also the era where Taemin had long hair and it made him one of the most popular of the members at the time, especially with their Japanese fans. The Japanese culture really embraces men with long hair and the members said that he was one of the most popular at the time because of his style. Taemin with long hair is so iconic and many in the fandom were really sad when he eventually cut his hair. When Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 he was only 14 years old, so in "Lucifer" he is about 16.

"Lucifer" is actually known as one of the most difficult songs and dances to cover because of its tutting and popping and for the fact that it has a very fast paced beat with dance moves that are very sharp and precise which are designed to hit every beat of the song. And the song itself is very complicated with the songs wide range of notes and flow.
Many amateurs have thought "Lucifer" looks like one of SHINee's more simple songs and dances. But the minute they try to sing the song and/or dance the choreography, they soon discover that it is way more complicated than they thought. Check out this clip of SHINee teaching a group of actors and comedians "Lucifer" as part of a challenge on the variety show "Invincible Baseball Team." It's funny because when they came to meet SHINee to start the practice, Jonghyun asked them why they chose this song of all songs, and they said because it looks manly and they thought it was fairly easy to cover. But the first thing Jonghyun said to them, while laughing, was "oh no, actually it's one of our more difficult choreography and it took us extra time to really perfect it." :D
You should check out the dance practice next. SHINee's "Lucifer" dance practice was the very first dance practice video ever released specifically for fans. SHINee is the group that started the trend and they are why dance practice videos are even a thing today. :D It was the very first dance practice video to go viral. Back then dance practice videos were filmed for the group and artists to watch to help them remember the moves and to fix mistakes, etc. They weren't intended for a mass audience. The color saturation of the video, the crazy hair, the fashion, the electronic sound.. thats how you know that is early 2010' kpop, thats the apotheosis of 2nd gen kpop.
Lucifer is not the their debut song, (they debuted in 2008 with "replay"), but the dance practice to this song was the first ever dance practice, they started the trend.
This is a repost from when you were much less familiar with Shinee. I said then that I thought you'd overlooked Jonghyun's powerful performance and the amazing harmonies in Lucifer and I still think so. Also, both videos kind of minimize the difficulty and complexity of the choreo. The Lucifer dance practice video was actually the first of its kind and the stage version of View shows more choreography. It would be fun if you took another look to see if your opinions are different now. And Taemin is the one with long hair in black and red in Lucifer.
"View" came out in 2015 and it is one of numerous songs that was wrote and co-composed by Jonghyun -- the one with the Guns and Roses T-shirt -- who is SHINee's main vocalist. Jonghyun is highly respected as a singer/songwriter and he was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. SHINee were actually the ones to introduce deep house style music to the Kpop industry with "View."
Key -- the one with the girl power jersey -- is SM Entertainment's director of fashion, and he often is the one that designs SHINee's outfits for their MVs and concerts. So, the look and concept for this MV was all created by Key in collaboration with their stylists.
Fun fact: This MV was filmed in Thailand, so the actresses are all Thai. The funny thing is, the girls don't speak Korean.The SHINee members said they really didn't interact much with the girls when not filming because they couldn't communicate with them.
If you pay attention to the lyrics for "View" you will see that the song is about being mesmerized and sort of brainwashed by the beautiful view as seen within a dream.The MV seems to be about living in the dream of being like a normal group of young men hanging out with friends and having fun in the summer without anything to worry about. However, SHINee have been kidnapped by the girls, and although they end up having fun hanging out together, I think why we hear the police sirens at the end is because the police are coming to rescue SHINee. If you notice, even though they are having fun most of the time, whenever the girls get close to them, SHINee pushes them away, or looks away.
So SHINee are not necessarily 100% OK with everything that is happening.

SHINee's whole concept as SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, means that EVERY song you hear from them will be completely different from anything you have ever heard, even on the same album. SHINee are known for setting trends, never following them.When it comes to their music and choreography they are expected to come up with something that has never been done before, not just in the Kpop industry, but something unique and trendsetting that has never been seen or heard before in the world music scene. The Kpop industry actually looks to SHINee to tell them what the next style and sound will be. So after more than a decade, they have pretty much done it all, and yet they are still smashing records and changing the industry with every new song. It is said that within 3 months of SHINee releasing a new song, that you will see the same music style and choreography being depicted in every new comeback from both boy groups and girl groups. When SHINee does something the industry takes notice and follows suite.
There is almost no group that has better harmonies and vocals than SHINee. They are one of the most well rounded groups in Kpop that excel at every aspect of the entertainment industry. They are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. And everyone looks up to them. They are considered Idols' Idols.
SHINee's rappers are lead vocalists and their main vocalists can hold their own as rappers. There is almost nothing they can't do. About the ONLY thing SHINee is not good at is lip syncing, so they avoid it at all costs. So when you hear them sing about 95% of the time it will be live. And they have trained their entire career to be able to sing live while performing really complex choreography and always sound flawless. They have built a reputation for sounding even better live then they do in their studio recordings. And even other Idols have said, when they perform at the same events as SHINee, they are even blown away by how perfect SHINee's raw vocals sound as they listen to them from backstage.
