      There's a case going on right now very similar to this one.
      Ex minister of economics in Kazakhstan beat his wife Saltanat Nukenova to death in his restaurant.
      It lasted for 10 hours. Her last moments were full of pain and despair. He just sat next to her still warm body to have a meal. Because he got hungry after torturing her for hours.

    Let me tell you another disturbing story. A few days ago in Greece, a 27-year-old woman walked into a police station in Attica to report her ex-boyfriend for stalking and harassing her. As she exited the police station, she saw him waiting outside and asked the police for a patrol car to accompany her because her ex was there and stalking her. The police's response was that the patrol car is not a taxi, and they couldn't do what she asked. Minutes later, he fatally stabbed her outside that police station. Her name was Kyriaki Griva.

      I really wish they'd teach more on the signs of abuse, not just what abuse is. Abuse doesn't usually just start up right away. It starts with manipulation, I wish schools would explain that more. I feel like it would reduce the number of cases like this, and it broke my heart to know that this isn't as uncommon as it should be.

    Hi Eleanor, as a Bosnian myself I wanted to thank you for covering this case.
    We feared that Nizama's name will be forgotten but because of your big community and worldwide viewers everyone will now know about Nizama. After Nizama's death, things took dark turn. Every month we have another femicide case since our police department does nothing to protect victims of domestic abuse, nor women in general .
    Few months ago, in Tuzla, town near Gradačac, a police officer shot and killed a woman in her own coffee shop just because she told him they were closing. She was a mother, a sister, an aunt and beloved woman in community. Her name is Amra Kahrimanović, and she should not be forgotten either.
    What makes me so sad that instead of protecting women in our country they are now exposed to more violence. We want justice for Nizamq, Amra and every victim but sadly due to lack of empathy in police department, we do not know if we will ever get it. But you made me so happy with this video, because now I am sure that Nizama will never be forgotten.

    femicide and abuse against women in the balkan region is not taken seriously at all, it's heartbreaking.
    i remember seeing the clips of the livestream being spread on social media and just seeing so many people,mostly teen boys,joking about the situation. truly sick. this could've been prevented if the police actually did their job. just a month ago there was another case of femicide in bosnia, a cop shot his girlfriend in broad daylight and it took hours to arrest him. if the law won't protect women then who will?
    these cases sparked some protests so hopefully something might change.
    it's important to share these stories and to remember these women.

      In this case what could the police have done? It's hard to understand, but the police can't arrest someone just because someone else accused them of something. It's very hard to prove threats and stalking, and honestly Even if she has a restraining order what would that have done? Believe me murder is a much bigger crime than violating terms of a restraining order, if he was willing to murder her and broadcast it to the world, nothing the cops could legally do would stop him

    I’m from Bosnia, and the city where this all happened is an hour away from me. Our country is pretty small, and this all shocked everyone. I cannot begin to explain how much damage this has left, and the fact is after everything happened in our country there are still people who are saying he’s maybe right, because she probably cheated on him, or she did something to him and those people are mostly men. I think that explains a little bit mentality that our people especially men have here. When she called police and reported him, a female police officer actually told Nermin because she was his friend, and possibly thats why he got mad. A fucking female officer for gods sake. Abuses sre still happening, just a few months ago a man killed his wife because she wanted to divorce him. I’m lucky I grew up in such a community where in my 20 years of life I’ve never met someone who thinks like that but men like that are out there in Bosnia believe me. A few days ago, a man killed a waitress because she told him they were closing, and he is A POLICE OFFICER! Yes a police officer, and nothing was done about that. Also one note; yes Nermin maybe did experience war, and yes it was hard for him as a child, but so did millions of other Bosnian people, such as my father, my uncles, my grandpa, other people families and still they managed to cope with that. He’s pure evil, and I hope he never rests in peace.

      I remember when the case was first reported in our trash media, there were men saying she probably deserved it (with their full first and last name visible to everyone on Facebook) with zero shame, some of them even using laughing emojis. Absolutely disgusting.
      And I also believe that our media/tabloids is the reason 'allegedly' had to be used so much in this case. Every single speculation and rumor was presented as a scandalous news title. They covered this as if it was gossip and not a nation wide TRAGEDY.

    As someone who has family and friends in the Balkans, specifically Bosnia and Croatia, misogyny and familial abuse specifically towards women is SO common. It’s actually horrifying.
    Misogyny is very common, even in day to day life. The authorities have been letting down women AND children for decades.
    And sadly steroids/ - any other type of drugs are very accessible in the Balkans. So many children get into crime and drugs in their teens.

    Also you forgot a very important factor in this case. On the day of the murder, Nazama was running away and hiding from him, earlier she contacted police and they did nothing. he found her and dragged her to this cottage house in the middle of the woods and murdered her .BUT, police didnt do anything, because Neemin had a lover, a mistress at the police station, she worked there and therefore they didnt do anything because she said not to. Police could also stop the murder, because they were looking at the live and knew where it was, but they didnt. They waited for Neemin to “finish his business”. In so many of these videos, the murderer try so hard to leave no evidence behind, to leave the scene with no indication that they had ever been there in the first place. I think what makes this case so much more harrowing is that he had an audience; he had made that concious decision to go live and have someone there to witness his actions. It was all so intentional.

    • @AbbieWells-r6v
      @AbbieWells-r6v 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      but then again, he was an influencer. A curated version of his life was always under surveillance, so why ruin that image? It's really strange how someone who's intention is to kill or hurt would broadcast that, especially when he had been an influencer. Usually influencers would strive to keep that image of themselves up.

    • @michellegallia9361
      @michellegallia9361 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I agree. It’s the ones who so blatantly and clearly don’t give two shits about what they’ve done or that they’re obviously going to get caught. It’s like a “well if I’m going out, I’m going out with a bang” type of thing- which, most times, is way more intentionally destructive to others/those involved than just a normal crime where the person tries to get it done then get out of there as swiftly and quietly as possible. The person obviously doesn’t care about their own life and the other’s lives involved, so they’re going to make it a big show and turn their violence/actions up to 11 and “go down fighting.” So harrowing…

    • @AbbieWells-r6v
      @AbbieWells-r6v 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You're so right. Ofc Eleanore has covered cases like this one before where the killer has intentionally made it so there are witnesses, and I understand that it's like an attention thing. He knew he would be caught simply because of the brutality of his actions, and a lot of hate and intention goes into beating someone half, if not, to death. Sometimes influencers like to shield their views and fans from their personal life because they enjoy the image they have made for themselves, like the whole Wilbur thing (ew), but I really can't get my head around him streaming it. I can understand that he wanted to go out with a bang (again, ew) but I can't understand, understand it. In some weird way, not completely understanding gives me a bit of comfort, because understanding completely, in every way, makes the killer relatable, and GOD FORBID anyone EVER relates to someone so fucking evil.

    A woman who I went to school with was murdered by a man she rejected that she worked with. He had former reports made against him by other women who even moved away from where they were living because he was stalking them. He killed Gracie Spinks when she was with her horse one morning and then he killed himself. Police were contacted by Gracie multiple times and a bag of weapons was found in a field near where she was murdered not long before the murder happened and it was reported to the police but they did nothing. There’s a whole enquiry going on about stalking in the UK and the family are doing amazing things to try to get a law passed for stalking. I think raising awareness of this is really important. The whole community has been affected by it and it could’ve been avoided if the police had helped or cared enough.

I am croatian and this case was such a big story when it initially happened, through reading some of these comments and even personal experiences - in the balkans the police and generally useless especially when it comes to DV. It is absolutely true that the thinking is somewhat backwards when it comes to men vs women and this tragic story breaks my heart and brings me to tears each time I hear it. Please cover more stories in the balkans, they’re only ever spoken about within those select countries and stories like the baby Danka who was recently found in Banjsko Polje need to be covered on more widespread media.

    I'm from the Balkans but live in the UK and want to provide some context. Coming from a stable less corrupt country, I can see why you would assume that the police were just stupid or overwhelmed with other work and ignoring a serious issue but in the Balkans this is almost never the case. The police know and are complicit in crime - these are small countries with low population densities. Police men in the UK work like crazy, while these guys twiddle their thumbs all day until they get notified of anything. It is therefore an active choice to ignore it, not a mistake. These kinds of people get away with things because our police system is complicit in their crimes for years until it comes impossible for the world to look away from them. Men like this give police bribes for years on end to keep a lid on things or they just have a personal connection on the inside (a relative, a friend, a something on the side). I believe him when he says he's murdered before. It is ironic that his own ego was his downfall.
