Just seems to be the reality of social media these days - and the ugly face of left-wing extremists. I'm from the UK but I see a lot of videos of hateful people with brightly coloured hair and unicorn t-shirts, snarling and attacking people whilst claiming to be liberal, woke and progressive. This is all part of the same crowd I feel. We need more responsibilities than rights.

I’m Brazilian and an activist against human trafficking. Laws against human trafficking in Brazil are very loose and the cap for years in prison a person can stay is 30 years. So it’s infuriating when you see a person that clearly has not learnt anything from her wrongdoings be able to walk freely in less than a decade. The laws NEED to change.

I am a US attorney and HT specialist. I have helped pass HT laws in US and have written about the issue. While giving a HT lecture at Oxford many years ago, I met a Brazilian Supreme Court Judge. He knew little of the issues and invited me to Brazil to help them with their laws (I had a time conflict at the time). I would love to hear more about your work.

@Eumaya I don't think the commenter is trying to talk badly about Brazil. It is very helpful to bring light to these issues in every country. HT is an underreported and very difficult to discover in all countries. Ht is a world wide problem. I have heard directly from Survivors of HT in over 20 counties and the US (and have stats for every country (these stats are printed in a very large book every year). It's helpful to have this conversation in any country because many people including law enforcement do not know what to look for. I have done training for law enforcement, lawmakers, and non-profits in several countries including the US. 👮‍♀️⚖️🌍

As a Brazilian person maybe you can answer a question about this case. They say she was from a family of great poverty and a alcoholic father. In America child modeling competitions are not exactly a cheap activity to participate in. Even if the contest itself is not very expensive to enter the outfits, makeup, etc and needing different ones for every event plus travel is going to be for mostly middle class and up families to be able to afford to really be a part of that community. Is that not the environment of Brazilian child beauty pageant/modeling? If it is is her story of poverty exaggerated or are there programs that put such young children into this environment and as such make them vulnerable by feeling a obligation to them? Just interested in the building of this monster 😢

It is tragic. Sugar daddies can make you and then break you so easily. They can promise the world and give it to you and then take it all away when you get comfortable. Then your entire life can be taken away. Your home, your car, your animals. And it’s got such a negative connotation that your family and friends might ostracize her.

You're never supposed to go into the Ayahuasca experience without a clear understanding of what you need to get from it. That means if you have trauma, you need to be ready to face it because you can unlock everything you've buried, and trauma can surface in twisted ways if you aren't ready to deal with it. It sounds like she went into it expecting to be told she had a higher purpose and while focusing fully on that, the trauma of sexual abuse was creeping into it, and it twisted her into believing she could achieve her destiny and overcome her trauma by becoming the abuser.
That's just a guess but what seems apparent without much armchair psychology is that she had an underlying mental illness and Ayahuasca at such a reckless frequency caused it to surface in full force. Any psychedelic comes with significant risks and equally significant potential rewards. Getting a thorough mental health evaluation and therapy first is the right way no matter who you are. Ayahuasca in particular is a last resort and can be catastrophic to some people.
It's not black and white, you are not in a position to "recommend" it or not. Most things in life are a gamble.

This could have been me… my life hasn’t been easy and to know a countrywoman contributed to me many ab*se I’ve been through is just that much harder. It pains me to see that I have to explain to anyone that I’m NOT saying that because we’re special or something. Being in countries different than your own makes you more vulnerable. Trust me, I’ve lived and traveled to over THIRTY nations. And before you make another assumption, every country has been a country I’m a citizen of or in EU 🇪🇺, I’m allowed to be there legally. I wanna say I remember a case of a serial killer that murdered Over 300 children and did heinous other things... And only got like 30 years ended up getting out. But they deported him when he was released I'm not totally sure but I do believe it was Brazil where this happened.

I don’t remember this case. However, as an example, Pedrinho Matador was a Brazilian serial killer, one of the top 10 killers in the world in terms of number of victims. He was sentenced to 128 years in prison, but under Brazilian law, that’s illegal, so in practice, he served 34 years. He had been free since 2018 (and, believe it or not, became a TH-camr). He was killed last year.

She is a charlatan and it was clear from the start that she would do anything to be famous. Her threatening the female reporter just shows exactly how she is.
