I had a guy friend in college who I was quite clear with that I saw him as a friend. He came onto me once and I told him no. He took the rejection in stride and acted fine for a couple of weeks, then did it again. I cut him off completely without a second thought. I was sad because he was always so funny and I liked hanging out with him. He was exactly "my type" when it came to platonic friendship, but not romantically. Like, it's fine if someone wants to shoot their shot. It's okay if you're sad after a rejection. But no means no. Don't pretend the rejection never happened. regarding blood money, it comes under a ruling in Islamic laws that the victim’s family is to be paid blood money IF they want to forgive the murderer or else the criminal is set to have a death penalty. And more than that, Muslims are REQUIRED to follow the criminal laws of whichever country they are in, before even trying to apply the Islamic ones. So according to that, blood money is not even to be considered as Farouk is required to be tried according to British Laws.

It is said in Islam, the one who takes a life it is as though they have killed the whole of humanity. In Islamic countries the crime of premeditated murder and rape should be punishable by death, and in my opinion he should have received this sentence!!! The fact that his dad thought about and wanted to protect his reputation, business and his revolting son first!! Shows that he doesn’t have the true etiquettes of a Muslim father or Arab man. The murderer fled to Brazil immediately and the extraditions laws are also non-existant. It took nearly 10 years but the man was finally arrested and tried in Brazil. When that happened, the police had to do another inquest in my city and they tried to find me, even though I had changed my number 2 or 3 times and moved 3 times since then. One Sunday morning I got a knock at the door! I was glad to be able to help with the inquest, and I also met all his family that day, it was quite intense.

So technically, this guy still got away with murder. Even if he had a shitty life, he still free and living. While the victim family still get no justice, I think he got a way and could probably die with no punishment. I don’t that really punishing enough, even if he living a shitty a life. He still got to live his life knowing, he is a suspect to a murder and whether to confession. Is evident enough, him living in a miserable. Unless that country government hand him over, is not justice a enough as him not facing his punishment.
Yeah, technically. Whether he is having a miserable life in Yemem, he still hasn’t received any punish for what he has done. Or put the victim family through and I don’t think he give a or care to give his victim parents justice enclosure, as I don’t think he’s willing to even give himself up and do the right thing. He just is selfish and spoiled guy that weren’t take any, responsibility for anything he had done and cause.
I remember this story so well. As a Norwegian I rememeber how many this story dominated Norway newspapers for months and how angry everyone was at him and his family. We were disgusted at how the newspaper portrayed Martine and how the Norwegian government took so long to get involved.
A few reasons I can think of: 1) He cares so much abt his reputation that he'd do ANYTHING to protect it. 2) He believes his family is above all others and entitled to get away with anything they do. Martina was just a nobody that didn't mean anythinf. 3) He's delusional and found some justification for his son's disgusting behavior. Money changes ppl's morals.
@Lee-qf9dz I agree with you, I'm just disgusted and so angry. The disregard for life is sickening! Martine was kind enough to offer her time and friendship to him and this is what she gets. The poor girl, she deserves justice 💔
Instead of hiring a PR team, he could have done so much for his PR by holding his son accountable. It doesn't sound like they were close anyway. Maybe he was afraid of the trouble he would get from his own. The path of least resistance? And the way the dad cries about how much pain Farouk caused to himself, 🤮.
I was today years old when I found out the Monopoly has different squares on the board for different countries 😅😅😅😅 Which makes total sense. It just wasn’t something I thought about. But the confusion I had when she said “Mayfair” as one of the most expensive squares and not Boardwalk 😂😂😂😂
I’m probably not the only person who this particular irony was not lost on: If Farouk had manned up, taken accountability, and “paid the piper”, so to speak, when all this originally happened, Farouk would likely be very close to completing the non-parole part of whatever prison sentence he was ultimately given. Instead, he continues to live out a self-imposed life sentence among the rubble (just like Martina) in Yemen.

The production of your videos are getting SO impressive
the cat almost falling😭 she’s so cute
Please please please cover the Henryetta Oklahoma case. Of Ivy Webster and Brittney Brewer. These families deserve way more attention than they have received. I love your videos!!
Please don't forget the other 3 children who also lost their lives to that monster. They matter too.
Hello! I'm pretty sure Ellie has a link in her bio where you can recommend cases. You may have a better chance of her seeing this if it's recommended there. Rip to the victims, no one deserves this
Every time I hang out with my guy friends I wonder if they would ever do something like this. Not that they ever give me that impression, but sometimes the signs aren’t there, or you see them too late 🥺
Guys are just monsters
@@jaffajack101 it’s not all men, but it usually is a man sadly
@alexysjessica9275 I respect you for pointing out its not all men but usually is, big respect for that. Personally, I've had far more bad/traumatic experiences with women than men myself. The human race sucks.
@@jaffajack101 100% some women are fucking monsters too. And everything in between. I hate how horrible some people can be .-. Sorry to hear you’ve had such bad experiences. Hope there are at least some women in your life you can count on. And if not, I hope yourself is enough 🙂↔️🫶🏼
Forget guy friends, hang out with your blood relatives like brothers, close cousins or boyfriend. They're the only ones you can trust when you want to go out and drink a little and get safely back home.
immediately messaging my guy best friend to tell him if he’s planning on unaliving me to just not
What did he say
Hope he’s not from Yemen. 😂😂😂
Wow. You're so funny 😐
😂I screamed
😂
Diplomatic immunity needs to go away. Great video ❤
Your cat can sleep in there when ever I love them ; Also I hate this guy like she put trust in him just to be betrayed is awful
As a male with a female best friend I couldn't imagine hurting someone I love. This is the problem with current culture is monsters like that who think they can do whatever and get away with it.
You saying that the kitty really needs her mom right now was so so cute ❤ ❤
37:33 the persons clothing in the background reading "the end is nigh" made me feel so sick such a shiver down my spine
Why don't you just say no? This, this is why! We are not safe even to state and maintain boundaries. Boy mamas raise your boys to respect the word no (I am one too)
Absolutely agree! Boy mum here too!
This story is nuts. What he did was horrifying and the coward SHOULD have turned himself in, but he is now isolated in his own prison. Just imagine: if he was a good person and didn't do what he did, he'd have an amazing career and life. But now he's completely alone with no one around to love him, dealing with the consequences of his own actions. I understand that he was never brought to justice, but it's nice to hear that he is living the worst life imaginable. Overall the scale of this case is so intriguing. I hope her friends and family are doing okay.
Get well soon, kitty.
I'm Norwegian and although I was very little when it happened most Norwegians are aware of this case and know Martine's name. I'm very happy you covered this case, that man deserves to go to jail.
That guy doesn’t look unstable at all…. Wolf in sheep’s clothing
They never do, really.
How exactly is one supposed to look? i’m unstable myself and this is just weird to say 😂 you can’t guess by just looking at someone
@@alexotega8545literally. 😂 “unstable” doesn’t have a particular look
@@alexotega8545 The look in the guy’s eyes. They have a darkness to them.

I can’t hear the word ‘room mates’ without saying ‘oh my god they where room mates’ and if that dosnt show my age 😂
This reminds me of the only time I was a witness in a murder case in my city, I was at the playground with my toddler at the time.
I feel like when he said he was “home alone” it was because he either HAD killed her already or knew he was going to kill her, and was kinda “trolling” and making a joke, as disgusting as that sounds. Like “haha im home alone, I SHOULD not be because I have a guest but I murdered her😂” type of thing. Anyways RIP to a smart beautiful woman. This story and outcome is so heartbreaking.
Like he was sooo obvious 😭😭😭
Time to lock in
Yeass
Lock in with me
I swear, Eleanor is one of the most talented TH-camrs out there - along with Mr. Ballen!! She’s absolutely amazing!! She pulls me into the story like nothing else is going on around me!
My heart is with her family and may they get justice in one form or another that gives them peace.
What a scary bit of foreshadowing, just behind Martina it says " the end is neigh"
Those girls were real friends.
His dad owned private jets. I am sure he left the country and went to private islands etc. he probably had a great life. Terribly sad.
The only light in this is that his in his own jail and until he man's up and hands himself in he will stay in hell.
This is terrible! Poor girl, trusted a guy who she thought respected her! Her poor family! My thoughts and prayers are with them
This terrorfies me having 3 daughters.
I remember this story so well. As a Norwegian I rememeber how many this story dominated Norway newspapers for months and how angry everyone was at him and his family. We were disgusted at how the newspaper portrayed Martine and how the Norwegian government took so long to get involved.
She's from Norway - same as me. Sadly, her life had a terrible ending.
Why TF was his dad OK with his son taking an innocent life!!! I am SO angry not just with Farouk but his entire family, I'm absolutely FUMING 😡🤬😡
I dnt think he was ever ok with it , parents protecting there kids shrugs
I'm ashamed it never occurred to me 😂😂😂
Same, I was like "Mayfair???" Lol
Same...
countries?
We***
WE were today years old 😅🤣🤣
I’m probably not the only person who this particular irony was not lost on: If Farouk had manned up, taken accountability, and “paid the piper”, so to speak, when all this originally happened, Farouk would likely be very close to completing the non-parole part of whatever prison sentence he was ultimately given. Instead, he continues to live out a self-imposed life sentence among the rubble (just like Martina) in Yemen.
May she get her justice in the end.....
