Say goodbye to clogged gutters and hello to hassle-free drainage with French Drain Man's line of downspout leaf filters! These innovative filters are designed to keep debris out of your downspouts, ensuring smooth water flow and preventing costly damage to your home and landscape.
    A Filter for Every Downspout
Whether you have small or large downspouts, French Drain Man has you covered. Our leaf filters come in three convenient sizes:
2x3: Perfect for most standard downspouts in the US.
3x4: Designed for larger downspouts, often found on commercial buildings or homes with extensive roof areas.
4-inch Round: Specifically crafted to fit round downspouts, including those on older or historic homes with multiple layers of paint.
Available in both black and white, these filters seamlessly blend with your existing gutters while providing superior protection against leaves, twigs, and other debris.
    Introducing the 4-Inch Line
Our new 4-inch line of leaf filters is compatible with any 4-inch pipe, making them perfect for both thick-walled and thin-walled systems. They're designed to fit snugly in the center of the pipe, eliminating the need for glue, silicone, or tape - making installation a breeze.
    Built to Last: Virtually Indestructible
Crafted from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), our leaf filters are incredibly durable and weather-resistant. They won't freeze, crack, or split, even in harsh winter conditions. Plus, their vented design ensures maximum water flow and prevents backups, even when covered by grass or debris.
    More Than Just Leaf Protection
Our downspout leaf filters offer a host of benefits:
Prevent Clogs: Keep your downspouts flowing freely, even during heavy rainfall.
Reduce Maintenance: Spend less time cleaning out your gutters and more time enjoying your yard.
Protect Your Home: By preventing water damage and erosion around your foundation.
Enhance Curb Appeal: Our sleek, minimalist design blends seamlessly with your existing gutters.

We’re in Canada and installed your system after redoing our gutters last year, complete with an emitter and basin. It has been working perfectly. We used to have severe water problems in the basement because the water from the gutters, now properly channeled through the downspouts, was overwhelming our weeping tile now and building up against the foundation, eventually seeping in through the windows. Burying the downspouts with your system resolved these issues. Your videos have been incredibly educational over the years, so when we tackled this project with our landscaper, I was well-prepared. Now, he’s using your products with other customers this spring. Your Canadian reseller was great to work with and a genuinely helpful person. 👍

A landscaping company buried my front gutter and installed that cheap-ass Flex Grate. I cut some cheap Plexi glass and slid it in to close the opening. A quick fix, but your product looks of course way better. I've been searching for years. In the past I've used Gutterworks' downspout debris filter and thought it was pretty good, but it has to be mounted through the siding and the fine screen needs regular cleaning.

New home and the builder installed 5” gutters: replaced them with 6”.
With guards on the new gutters my next step is to route the rain water away from the house and to the drainage avenues along with the street in the front of the house.
About 25’ x2 for the front.
The rear has only 10’ to the discharge spots.
I will be ordering these products I need from the French Drain Man

Follow up from my shorts comment: Great videos, learning so much! Do you have a video about back flow prevention when releasing into a creek area when the water level rises?

So the idea is a leaf filter on the downspout and then a catch basin a few feet away to clean out shingle debris?

If I don't have any trees near my house can I get away with not having this, but still installing downspout basins to catch debris off the shingles?

    • @FRENCHDRAINMAN

It's been my experience over my 38 years as a contractor that leaves sometimes blow in from city blocks. I've seen houses with no trees still have leaves in their gutter systems. A clogged downspout is more of a headache than it's worth. If you don't have very many leaves, then you shouldn't have to clean them out that often. I'm always going to install a good leaf filter because it's not worth the risk of a flooded basement or crawl space.

Can you confirm if this is the right approach out in northern IL? I've got 3 downspouts that I plan on tying together with solid corrugated pipe. I'll be running a 3" slotted corrugated pipe for the french drain next to it. I'll be including your catch basin for the roof run off/organic material. Is there a point where I should transition the downspout solid pipe to a slotted pipe? I watched a number of your videos that mention using a knife cut (slotted) pipe in part of the run to help the run off leech out. Or is it fine to run it completely solid until both pipes terminate at the end of the run? Thanks for the videos!

Three-inch pipe has 56% less water in it than four-inch, so we don’t do a leach pipe at the end of a three-inch line. We do not tape the pop-up emitter on so that the water can leak out at that fitting. And we put stone around the pop-up.

@@FRENCHDRAINMAN Thank you sir! Do you think it would be better to tie all the 3" into 4" mains (1solid for gutters, 1 slotted for french drains) and then run it down to the popup emitter (with a mini drywell around it). Can I get away with tying both 3" gutter and 3" french drains into the same 4" main (not sure if it should be solid or slotted)?

We already do. This is our second year on Amazon. However, Amazon adds a lot of cost, so it's cheaper to buy on our website.
