- A lovely follower sent me a video from cheerful  greetings page here on TH-cam using Vaseline and alcohol ink. so I tried vapour rub and watercolour bleach in salt. I think it looks lovely

Wow! When I first saw the title of your video, I thought, no way! But this morning, I got out my VapoRub and made the most beautiful card! Thank you so much for showing us how to do this. I think this will be my favorite resist technique with my watercolors! ❤

how did you get the "grease" of the vapor rub off the card? I only have gasoline and worried about the oiliness of it? Also, did it ruin your stamp? TIA
@@KathyMinervino the stamp was fine I haven’t noticed any disturbing oily residue on the painting but we can have a look at it today in a video
@@KathyMinervino I washed my stamp with warm soapy water and it was like new again. As far as the grease from the Vaporub, I had no issue with that at all, the paper absorbed it all. This is such an amazing technique.
@@SantaFeLady thank you! I ended up trying it with Vaseline. Came out great! Pleasantly surprised there wasn't any 'grease' on my paper. (how??) I did get vaseline in the grooves of my stamp....will try a toothpick. Thanks, again.

I won’t try bleach, an apartment and carpet every where! Got Vaseline and good ol’ crayola crayons, a box of white. Saw the results, need stamps. 😂Thanks for the emergency video ❤
Heheh bleach is not an essential it’s just a fun thing to try you could always try outside to just see what the results are it is a lot of fun. It certainly was an emergency video hehe

Thank you for your comment Faith to tell you the honest truth it wasn’t all that much on the stamp I just rubbed it with my hand and it seems to be fine 🤣

Hi ya it is a lovely one isn’t it.. sadly I bought them all secondhand I would say it’s a very old stamp and not made now I have a huge collection of stamps but don’t use them all that often
so cool! Can't wait to try this....did the vapor rub come off the card without leaving a residue and left the paper in good condition? How did you clean your stamp afterward so you could use stamp ink again? Thank you!
Great questions again kathy and I should of added that into info of vid just wash your stamp with hot soapy water I will show this piece of art again in the video I do today about the different additives it seems to have just disappeared almost evaporating lol 😂
do you remove the vaporub from the surface after it dries?

So I get that the Vicks is the resist, and I've used salt with watercolour before but what's the bleach for please? 🙏💛
@@JGalegria the bleach is like a medium and pushes and separates the colours just have a wee try and you will see what it does

How do you remove the Vicks residue when the painting is dry?
No reason it wouldn't work but what do you do about the smell? I'm also assuming it's not archival? The vaseline is at least odorless and what about the grease in the paper?
It didn’t seem to leave much residue that I would be concerned about archival doesn’t really bother me that’s why they have art restores it’s there problem after I die. the bleach also has no lasting effect on the paper if anything it would be the Opera pink that is fugitive. But I am creating cute art today and not worrying about tomorrow hope this answer helps try it yourself it works quite well 😊
And plus I am a full time artist and no I would no put something like this in a gallery. this is very easy low level art process

It honestly didn’t seem to leave much residue at all I just wiped my hand over it and it was fine seem to disappear when it was all dry

Why is that?? I didn’t touch anything and nothing is toxic. I always have paint on my hands. Gloves make my hands all sweaty itchy and stinky lol
Video flashes because of the lighting, and sections of it constantly repeat. Needs deleting and rerecording...
Plenty of people are getting pleasure and enjoyment from it. Not everything needs to be 100% accurate performance every time I’m sorry you did not appreciate my effort. I did explain it was an emergency video I would not normally film at that time of night. I will head to your channel to view perfect videos. Have a lovely day
