This is totally off topic but I really appreciate how genuine Justina is. It’s refreshing to see an influencer who appears to have a “normal life.” To me it really shows when she’s doing her day-to-day activities, like her makeup. She doesn’t only use expensive products and it looks like she finishes the products she does have. I really appreciate seeing this from an influencer because I feel like I rarely do.
So I did Tracy Anderson streaming during an ED relapse for the better part of a year. It absolutely embodies the disordered frame of mind; everything is focused around "fat burn" and being thin, like you said, and that is exactly what drew me in. There is even a community on IG of "TAMers" who film themselves doing the workout every day(some with admitted EDs that they have replaced with orthorexia - Im talking two salads a day). TAM encourages orthorexia IMO. Heavy fear mongering around "unhealthy" food. And the choreography changes every seven days, and you are expected to work out every single day, no rest days. This one lady was posting herself working out with pneumonia(!!) thinking it would accelerate her healing. Thank you for speaking honestly about the toxic, disordered nature of this type of stuff. ♥
This video was so informative. I appreciate how you always explain the “why” behind your critiques…and it’s science based. But the best part of the video was your cat. She is beautiful!
A parsnip is a root veggie that looks kind of like a white carrot with one fat end and one long skinny end. I like it roasted and my mum likes to mash it in with carrot. I love your videos because you give advice that seems realistic and make my goals seem more achievable. I’m starting with very small weights after a shoulder injury a few years ago, and your videos made me want to actually start, so thank you!
I’m plant based so I naturally eat a lot of fruits and veggies but I would be starving on her diet, even on a cut 😭 I appreciated how over it you were at the end lmao
I am vegan too and seeing disordered eating like TA promotes really pisses me off because uninformed people think that's what vegans eat and it's not true!
Hey Justina! I just wanna say, I've watched you for a couple years now, and you're by far my favorite TH-camr. I struggle with severe mental health issues, and your videos always bring joy into my life. I'm sorry if that's too deep lol, but I just needed to say that. Thank you for all that you do.❤❤
Your take on Tracey Andersen’s workout makes total sense. Definitely agree about the lack of cuing from the instructor. I haven’t due a workout of hers in years. Mostly cuz I realised her advice wasn’t science backed. But also cuz when I’ve done her workouts I couldn’t follow them intuitively. I’ve done a variety of workout classes including aerobic/ cardio ones and didn’t have that issue. So yeah idk if issue is with how she plans workouts/ how she approaches fitness. Her nutrition advice involves restricting food to an extent that I think is dangerous. Tbf she’s not the only person in the wellness space doing… but still. I think we need normalise to listening to dieticians for nutritional instead of unqualified people.
I’ve never understood Tracey’s appeal over the years. Thank you Justina for validating my beliefs. 😊. As far as wine in the middle of the day … maybe it is for a little buzz to get you through the day under nourished. 🤷🏻♀️😆
I started to feel very bad for you since the start (heck, the second I read the title and realized what you were going to do, probably) and the feeling just got progressively worse. The moment you showed us that terrible unseasoned broccoli salad or whatever that was, I said: "that's it" and went straight to the kitchen to metaphorically honor your sacrifice by eating a cookie. I don't know how you managed to do it, but this was a really risky (and brave!) move on your part, so RESPECT. ❤ I know that Zooey was judging you the whole time, though...
I'm so glad you showed some positives, because I stay BAFFLED at the idea that people enjoy this and would willingly pay extravagant accounts for the privilege 😂 from everything I've seen, even people doing it who seem to love it, it seems poorly executed and I can't really see the benefits other than general movement. This was fun. Thank you for doing what I unwilling to do, but will happily watch! ❤😂
Just starting this video out. I know it’ll be a fun one. But wanted to suggest that you cut your lemon perpendicular to what you did in order to use it in the lemon squeezer. Fits better and the fibers run in the direction to squeeze better.
There is not one recipe in her menus that I would like (except fit the soup you subbed in 😀). I’ve done some of her video workouts before and I always felt like I was crazy for hating them when she was so popular. I don’t care for her whole tiny girl aesthetic and weird food approach. Thank you for taking one for the team 👏
The workout seems to give off 90’s vibes, where “fitness” is purely measured in how much sweat someone produces 🥵Also, What’s with the rabbit food diet?!😂(I can see how she gets on so well with GP - they are clearly not food fans). Tracy can keep her method!
I had to go to the timestamp because I have no clue who this is lol - that was an ad at the top of my spotify, but I guess I need to give them a listen!
$45 for a drop in is just crazy. and $900/month is just bonkers. But people are clearly paying it. I'm clearly blessed with my $19/class Pilates membership and $300/yearly gym membership.
I hope you have rested and your digestion has recovered from so much fibre. 😅 I appreciate how you explain your opinion so clearly with science to back it up. I wondered if a future video idea could be about how to start strength training when you hate it. The past three years i have been trying to make myself love exercise, but it isnt happening. I have found ways of moving my body in short spurts (walks and dancing to songs on radio) and it makes my body feel good without draining my energy but i just cant seem to add strength training in. I have several autoimmune diseases that mean i have bad weeks and good weeks, this year has been 50percent good 50 percent stuck in bed. Any tips or advice would be great as a perimenopausal woman who knows it is important but wants to find a sustainable way to add strength training into my routine for the rest of my life.
honestly my biggest tip is to find something strength-based that excites you and gets you motivated to start! for me, music is a HUGE factor so if i'm in a slump i'll choose a random strength workout on youtube with a fun playlist. another idea is focusing more on a skill you want to learn like push ups or pull ups!
Channeling Michael Scott's "WHERE ARE THE TURTLES?????" WHERE IS THE PROTEEEEEIN???? I would be so angry and shaky and hungry eating nothing but fruit/veg for the first two meals of the day. 😭
I love your differentiated review, I like that you put evidence and science above all, but not forget to mention that it is also important to enjoy movement. Ten years ago I bought a Tracy Anderson book and made some of her workouts. I believed what she was saying. But later I found out (thanks to you) that she has no proper education and her references are training GP and Madonna. Now I think her training methods and what she is selling is bs.
I haven’t done TA in years, so I was curious if things have changed. Sounds like not much has changed with the method. I had developed overuse injuries to my lower body and had to drop TAM when I realized it wasn’t helping me heal. While the moves are interesting, I ended up going somewhere else to rebuild my strength and lose weight.
Yes, I achieved the results, after 4 years, but I injured my lower body to a point of being crippled for A couple of years, I wrote everything down in a workout journal. So I know it was the Tracy Anderson workout.I am glad I did Cathe Friedrich.Strength training. Women can’t get bulky unless they are doing steroids. That whole 3 pounds weight thing is silly.I enjoy Enjoyed this video.
@ I realized I needed a conditioning plan that met my needs instead of forcing to meet the requirements of a training program. Thing about TAM is that you have you have to do exactly the way it dictated and there’s little room for adjustment and little minimal guidance. My past history of injuries dictated I need more guidance from various personal trainers both in-person and virtually. Today I do a combination of different workouts to address different needs for my activities (I was dancer and I’m a distance runner, so I have performance goals which probably goes beyond the scope of this channel). I still do light as well as heavier resistance depending on the type of exercise I’m doing in order to train my body for the activities I do and stay injury free.
@@junebug0609 ,You sound like you’re in good condition.I was used to working out 6 days a week, cardio, weight training and TAM.When I added TAM,I began to feel joint discomfort, but I believed I was working out too hard. Happy Christmas, and Happy New Year!
No I think she does exactly what she says! I wouldn’t recommend aspiring to replicate what appears to be someone else’s fitness level. I would focus on implementing what the professionals recommend for your specific health goals.
I would think you’d live in the bathroom with that much fiber only lol. My favorite is strength training, so her workouts have never appealed to me. My understanding is that her workouts aren’t bad per se, but you can find something just as good if not better for less money. The employee treatment when you are rolling in money is a real turn off. Thank you! And you’re absolutely right. I use drugstore makeup until the last drop because I spent my hard earned money on it 😂
That glass of wine is probably the only thing that gets her through the day if she eats like that lol
😂
I’ve never clicked on anything SO FAST. I’ve been following the sham of Tracy Anderson for years now it’s fascinating

lol 😂
A crisp glass of wine in the middle of the day after only eating fruit and vegetables.....ok Tracy.... 🤡
