    Tony, Have you thought of backing the tailgate end of your ranger up to the opposite side of the splitter? The shorter throw will 1) be quicker 2) need less effort 3) less twisting of your back. Just thinking…… Good video, hope you get the hardware store deal.

      Hey Matthew! I haven’t but I will have to give it a try, definitely rough on the shoulders throwing it the way I am doing it now. Thanks for the support!

    30% faster cycle time with the stoke limiter is a significant improvement. Your design is rather simple and effective. Well done. Just don't watch the video Neighbor Doug (One Eye Customs) did on his wood splitter restoration.

      I haven’t seen Doug’s video but I’ll go check it out. Thanks for watching I appreciate it.

      Thanks Rick! I was way overthinking the stoke limiter in the beginning, cheaper and easier for the win!

    Great easy way to speed up your splitter! Every second matters 👌🏻 sounds like you’ve made a sweet score in some ash! I’m always on the lookout myself 😆 it’s hard to come by for me

    I seen your first video about this, it's a great solution that I still need to do to my splitter. Have a good day Tony.

      It will be great to get the first load finished up and the other logs moved before winter.

    What's uuuuupp? How's hunting? Shawna jumped 4 going in Saturday morn and I jumped 4 turkeys. Went and picked corn in afternoon and pushed 2 from corn. Put a friend of hers in the heaven stand. He saw 10 Sat, 6 different bucks and 11 Sun morn. Got nice doe and good bodied lil 4 pt. I'm a Lil slow, between stress and giving up caffeine, that means still working on it,? That and maybe the b n b you'd be a real busy lil bee.

    • @TCsOutdoors1

      What’s up Brandon! It was a slow opening morning, we only saw one small 4 point at first light. Hopefully it will pick up this weekend? If I end up supplying bundles the the 3 stores plus the roadside stands I think that’ll be all I can keep up with for now. I’ll let you know how it works out!

    Wish the wedge on my splitter was that tall. YardMax is only like 6 inches.

    • @TCsOutdoors1

      The taller wedge makes it nice for stacking the slabs and re-spiting but a multi wedge would be awesome.

    • @wolcottfamilyworks

      You're absolutely correct there. I'm tossing around ideas of converting my old splitter from single wedge to push through style, but I don't know yet.

    What makes that a 40 ton splitter other that the sticker that’s on it ?

    • @TCsOutdoors1

      Lol that's pretty much the only thing. The tonnage isn't regulated by anyone so the can put whatever they want on them. I bought the biggest engine/cylinder I could afford at he time. Awesome question, thanks for watching I appreciate it!

  • @sstocker31

    You could save yourself a S/L of time by using a multi head splitter.....One pass through the log and your done.

    • @TCsOutdoors1

      I agree completely, multi split wedges are in the works! Thanks for watching
