- In this Video Chris and Dawson show you how to install our C-10 "Gate Saver"
If you want the modern convenience of a new pickup by having a tailgate assist they can be found at LS-FAB.COM
Smooth Function and the safety of a slower opening tailgate for when kids and pets are around. Plus it's cool!

Must have right here. Brilliant work!
Just ordered the kit. Thanks!!!
Saw the order. Thanks for the support, Jesse!
Great video man. But I never actually seen the gorgeous red head. That's false advertising. Lol. Thanks for the info. I'm working on a 83 c-20. Love this tail gate.....
You fell for the click bait..🤣 We now have a gate saver for your 83!
Nice truck got a blue one just like it!
My mom had a truck just like this in the late 80s to early 90s does this truck happen to have hidden damage where it was crashed into a ditch on the front i belive right side
NICE! What's the drop specs on the truck! Thanks!
Question......
Will all 3 work together between the gate saver, the easy latch setup, and your tail light housing gas filler door?
Incase a guy wanted all the trick stuff in the same build. ;)
Yes, you will have to remove the driver side cable and just use passenger cable to support the Tailgate. All three work with each other!
Nicely done Truck. If it was My Truck? I would had put a Sliding Back Glass & Bucket Seats..& Moved to Tennessee to Drive it..😄
Will it fit with the stock tail gate arms still installed? Thinking about how that small hydraulic shock will hold up to daily truck use: getting in the bed, standing on the tailgate, etc. Maybe this isn’t a “working truck” upgrade, but maybe it could be? Thanks, nice video.
We now offer tailgate cables to work with our gate saver. Paired together, they work great.
@@lsfab4607 Thanks! 👍🏼
I have this kit on my truck now. It’s pretty nice. My suggestion would be for you guys to loctite the head on the cylinder or recommend to customers that they do. The cylinder twist on the way down and it has come off on me. My father has an obs pickup and his kit has done the same thing. We both used loctite to hold the cap on the cylinder. I appreciate the kit, but it coming apart on me has been aggravating.
Our guys make sure every single ball stud socket is tight. I've had this brought up twice now, so we've made changes. Adding loctite to the threads. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Any chance for the f100s?
It’s only one side??
Yes
Is it any different with the tre5 latch kit?
Instead of a spacer the tre 5 latches have a 1/4 striker plate to go in between the ball stud and box side. Also then you can have the convenience of nice latches and cables.
Will this work on my Gen 3 C-10.?
What year is a Gen 3 C10? My guess is 73-80 and if so then watch this video.. th-cam.com/video/Xg4_s7NOrVg/w-d-xo.html
Big fan of these style kits I have one on my newer chevy and works perfect. But this here is a big NO for me since your tailgate is no longer able to be sat on. Nothing like pullin up to truck shows or just meets and dropping the tailgate and sitting. Something else needs to be made to allow to still use tailgate. Perhaps change the metal arms from the original and replace with the wire ones? Thats how my newer truck is and no restrictions. If this works give me credit. Ill actually try this and let yall know
We actually have cables like you're suggesting. This allows you to have the gate saver and cables for sitting needs.
They are fairly inexpensive.

@ yes exactly what i was thinking. Do a video where your able to use the lift assist and the cables on both sides so you can sit on tailgate
You just made a million dollars
We just need to sell 13,235 more..;-)
Work on f100?
No.
@@lsfab4607 What does it not fit?
Do you have something similar for Ford?
@@cristiangarcia1949 What does it not fit? It's easier telling you what it does fit. Specifically the 67-72 C10. We don't offer one for a Ford. Sorry.
