- In this video, Chris shows you how to install the LS Fab taillight fuel filler in a 1967-1972 C10 truck.
the taillight fuel filler can be purchased via

My 88 GMC Safari will be getting this . Thanks LS Fab and Chris
Outstanding video and product Thank You!
Really nice job and product.
Looks great.
Not sure if I could do it myself though.
But love it.
Nice job. When I did mine I made a tab that bolted in under the tailgate hinge on the drivers side welded to my crossmember and make it removeable. And I used # 8 thread certs to mount my gas door using counter sunk allen head bolts in case I need to remove it too.
Awesome video!!!
Thanks!
Nice custom touch!!
Nice I like it 👍👍👍👍👍👍
@ls fab where/how do you recommend routing the fill vent line from the tank?
What tank do you use for the tailight filler? Im looking at the Boyd but not sure the side filler will be correct? Can you suggest the correct tank to use? Thank u buddy!!
Sick...
Pretty straight forward install. Do you have any example of fuel filler hose routing? That seems to be more complicated.
Sorry I don't. Majority of people get creative depending on their skill set. You can do a Stainless tube with couplers on either end or a 1.5" flex fuel line. To connect the taillight to whichever tank you have.
How would you hook up the tank vert with this filler? this is the route i want to go, and this is one of the questions i have not been able to answer.
The tanks we suggest to use have a vent on the tank. You can add a rollover check valve if you wish. If your tank doesn't have provisions for that you could get creative with the fill hose and add a vent.
I've been interested in this, but I also want the one piece tail light, are the two kits compatible, or is there a one piece tail light filler?
Not that we're aware of. We've seen 1 version with our filler and the 1 piece taillight. Was a bit of extra Fab work.
That looks great on a Fleetside, do you have a recommended filler location for a Step Side? I really do not like the filler in the bed.
I’ve seen someone do it in the side marker light
@@evenvega3728 Any chance for pictures or video? Is there a kit available?
@@mikechristy5140 from what it looks like you just use a modern fuel door hinge and screw/weld it to the back of the side marker light, run the wires along the hinge, and cut out space behind the light for the filler neck and cap to fit
Anything for the Step Side?
Do y’all make these for the square bodies 73-86
Not yet.
What are your hoses list you will be using to connect to the tank?
1.5" is the diameter of the fuel filler neck. Not sure which tank you're using but gives you an idea.
@@lsfab4607 using a 2 in Boyd side fill tank.
Do yall provide a similar kit for the 64-66 c10’s?
Sorry we do not.
With some fab work, this one may work on a 60-66, on the show TRUCKS they used a capless filler from a ford and made the filler on the side marker light on the 67-72 they were building, with some trial and error you could make it work on 60-66 taillight, that’s the plan on my 64.
Will a center fill fuel cell work with this?
Possibly. You'd have to get creative with plumbing.
What tank do you use for this?
Blazer Tanks are popular. Any tear side fill tank would work as well.
This looks awesome on my truck, but when you are doing it on an original bed mounted on the truck, it isn't as easy as he is showing.
Having an understanding of the video should still help with the install no matter the scenario.
True
Where can I buy the box?
Ebay
Can you get away without cutting the crossmember?
Don't believe so, you need to plumb the filler and slide the assembly up through where the crossmember is.
The only problem I see with this set up is you have to use LED not regular bubs Am I my correct 🤔
Correct. Why is this a problem?
Anything for a 66
No sorry.
Ugh, I want to do this so bad but I know I would destroy the metal if I did it myself and I can't even pay anyone, nobody does this stuff anymore.
