+ Lmao! I don't understand how Plantains became associated as something uniquely Dominican. As if we are the only ones that eat it. Or as if that's just the only thing we eat. A lot of other countries have unique plantain dishes that they do. I'm dying to try those Salvadorian empanadas though. Yum! And the crazy thing is that I live in NYC & I know where there is a Salvadorian restaurant that I use to live like 5 minutes away from.
It's funny how we as latino's create so many different dishes out of anything that we can either find in our land or in the fridge and create something so crazy good. It's kind of humbling because we live in a day and age now where we can pretty much get anything we want because we have access to alot more but back in the day we had to learn to be resourceful and use what we had near us to make great foods !!!!
