As much as I love my Mexican food, SoCal needs way way way more Caribbean flavors. Being Rican/Mex mixed it’s ok since I get it at home. But my Cali people need more of this. 🇵🇷🇲🇽

I wish this place was in NY. We have La Caridad 78 which is a Chinese Cuban fusion and it’s really good. The chef is Chinese but he has a Cuban accent!

I thought NYC used to have a few Cuban-Chinese restaurants. They were brought over to Cuba during the Cold War, about 10K of them.
There's one in Brooklyn, good food.

My wife is Dominican, I am Mexican and we are both in love with each others cultures ... But I feel bad there is no good all Dominican restaurants in around in California... Im sure she would love this place though because the food looks amazing !!!

Yep. There is none! I think the two I found out about were both through this channel. But, on the flip side, I think Mexican food only has grown in NY within the last decade.

With the exclamation on the Ño and sometimes it's just Ñoo
We even got a store in Miami calle Ñoooo que barbato. Cubans are like the Jamaicans of the Spanish speaking world we shorten all words up.

Ropa Vieja is the BEST! My landlord's husband used to make it for me every first of the month when I brought my rent over. I love Mofongo y platanos maduros fritos, but Ropa Vieja is my fave.

This made me laugh so much, in a very good way, I think there are so many countries that have ropa vieja... I came from Panama, which we were brought up eating it... I introduced it to my husband, and he can't think of other method of eating this meat any other way!! especially with rice and platanos maduros fritos or with fried bread (hojaldres or as known in other countires arepas).. mmm mmm mmmmm

I agree, I was waiting for more Cuban food, I was disappointed. They highlighted the Dominican creamsicle drink, the other Dominican drink I forgot what is was and then 2 desserts which are made in almost every hispanic and/or latin American country. I do love Mofongo though. ❤ 🇨🇺 ❤ 🇵🇷
And the mofongo from Puerto Rico, he did say that they had Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban and Dominican dishes on the Menu. The restaurant's name should be Las islas .

1:08 The first time, I was in Miami, I was dying to try "Ropa Vieja". It was good, but not what I expected. It reminded me of the "guisos" my mom does with leftover meat. She just adds tomato sauce and vegetables, and serves it with rice.
