As a Salvadoran I appreciate all the comments they make regarding the dishes thank you papas for trying my culture should try Guatemalan food next cause I’m half half 🇸🇻🇬🇹
I love Nicaraguan food, from nacatamales to Indio viejo, enredo con cebollitas curtidas, frito colorado (I think now they just called it chancho frito), piñonates, toronja en almíbar, icacos en almíbar, rosquillas, cosa de horno…. The list of amazing Nicaraguan food is almost endless. I hope they see your post and make an episode.
I was very content watching this video, cause I’ve grown up with these foods, so seeing others enjoy them is truly special. The foods were represented accurately, and the commentary was honest and open-minded. As a salvadoreña, I’m glad they liked it
I’m so happy to see these Mexican dads enjoying some of our traditional food, our antojitos and our desserts!! They were so respectful and I do appreciate how much they respected our cuisine. Thank you!! And thank you for showing to the world some of the dishes that are part of our rich cuisine. I’m very. Thankful. Big hugs and kisses from El Salvador.
My moms only relative here in the US, my uncle, married a Salvadoran woman and she has plenty of family nearby, and I grew up going almost every weekend and having my Salvadoran aunties making my bro, my cousins, and me all kinds of different foods lol They loved that I looooooooveeeeee Pupusas lmao my aunts would always make them for me and ask me which tasted better each time even if other aunts weren’t around 🤣🤣 I cherish those memories with all the cousins too, Thank you guys 👌🏼
6:39 I’m salivating at all those delicious antojitos salvadoreños! Thank you for showcasing our most typical and traditional food. By the way, Salvadoran horchata is very different than Mexican horchata. We mix and grind several seeds, as well as spices like cinnamon and also some cacao. I’m not even sure we use any rice in our horchata, unlike the Mexican recipe.
As a Mexicanized Salvadoran born, I approve of this video. I like that that one father mentioned the MORRO seed, an essential ingredient in the salvadoran orchata. As a kid back in ES (I live in Los Angeles now), I helped mom roast all the ingredients for the orchata.
I had to pause this at 2:30am because I was tempted to go to the bodega and get some Central American food. But I'm trying to lose weight and none of this is healthy lol
Mexicans do eat alot of black beans but mostly in southern Mexico like in Oaxaca and Chiapas. I been to those states plenty of times and folks down there mostly eat black beans 1:35
try argentinian food! choripan, steak con chimichurri, alfajores, empanadas, milanesa de pollo, pizza argentina (the one with ham, mozzarella, red pepper, and olives).
Appreciate the feedback on our food. To be honest its really hard to find good spots that cook good salvi food. Except mom she throws it down on all plates presented 😂😂😂
Salvadoran casamiento is usually made with red beans and rice :it can be ground red beans ,sort like refried beans or whole red beans and with sour cream .
The yucca with chicharrones and the pastelitos were missing the sauce and the curtido . they give them quesadillas without coffee like common guys 🥲 The salpicón needs a lime on the side . The plátano could have been a little more maduro. Other then that I’m glad they finally got to El Salvador 🇸🇻
We don't really eat black beans tbh, most Salvadoran dishes will only have kidney beans or refried kidneys. Also, jalapeño on the curtido is a common thing to add a spicy kick. Cheese HAS to be Petacones. But you really killed it with the salpicón, such an underrated, underapreciated dish. It's the best for the hot days (which is 99% of the time here).
2:18 Thank you for highlighting our cuisine!! I will probably comment again after I finish watching this video. But I just wanted to say that, in El Salvador, we prefer red beans to black beans, don’t ask me why. That casamiento is not entirely accurate.
Chicharron .. man.. always thought it was pork belly (as most would call it) but i ordered once and got a bunch of fried pork chunks and was upset - even though their online picture is of pork belly- lol

He seems a little worldly than the other dads. Nothing throws him.

I hope in the future you can do a Nicaragua food episode, we have very delicious food!!
I was just about to comment this! Our food is similar (as is most of Central America), so I'd like to see them try the Nica version of salpicon.
Omg yesss a nacatamal! ♥️🥹

The Papah's need to try food from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 😋. Doubles, pelau, roti, corn soup. I'm sure they'll love it 😀
As a Grenadian, I support this message. Doh forget bake and shark (or maybe saltfish), pholourie, cheese straws, pone, and some rum punch!
My favourite food from all the Caribbean is Trini and Grenadian 🤤🤤 best cooks and best flavour 🔥🔥
@Bluebutterfly80 So true, I'd add Vincy food, too! Delicious

It all looks pretty decent, i first had pupusas when i was in my twenties. I don't know why we don't make them up here, so easy to make and so good
I’m glad they enjoyed salvy cuisine. This was wholesome af
Maybe bc my family is from the south of Mexico but we have plantains with refried beans
Absolutely.

OC has some salvadoran/mexican joints. You'll get a mild and spicy option for salsa usually. Pupusas next to tacos is a win though.
Hopefully y’all try Dominican, Cuban, Haitian food también
They will all say it needs chiles
1:37 - Salvadoreans don't eat black beans, we eat red beans ("frijol de seda") and for sure we never eat them with a piece of cheese on top
Those tortas looked so good! 🤤
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS, BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES

As a Mexican-Hondurean (my grandfather was Salvadorian), I approve.
Take a shot every time Donato says "you know".
I waited so patiently for this one lmao 🙏🏻
Mexican papa with the glasses knows the flavors. My fav on every episode!
It’s cool how different cultures call food different things, I’m nica 🇳🇮 and we call the casamiento - gallo pinto and we call the plátanos - maduro
Love how food unites us all
Yep. We Salvadoreans make #horchata out of jicaro or morro wild fruit. Delicious
The sweet plantains with beans and rice is a very Caribbean thing
Im Mexican and I love pupusas and..la agua de o jolín.orcahata vivan las pupusas
salvador horchata is sooo good, it's thicker than the Mexican version, still delicious, with more spices i think. very good
Do they use arroz? Or they make it different compared to the Mexican one?
Would love to know where the meals are coming from to support the local establishment!! Could they be added to the descriptions??
The fact that the last dad thinks they are regular bananas that they fry is funny 😂
I died when he said that 😅
Should have done tamales Salvadoreños and sopa de frijoles two main dishes for us
When they called it a "torta"!! Took me a second to realize they meant pan con pollo
Eating pupas while watching this🤣
Lol i thought the same thing about making the chicharon and yuka into a taco
