I've been reviewing my own vods since and trying to play slower and with arguments. I hope to one day not make an embarrassment of myself on stream!
Don't let the fact that your plays are shown on stream lead to the misconception that you come off as bad, wimpy or something as ridiculous as that. Mistakes like these are something literally EVERYONE makes. It's just that no one else gets to see them. (except for our teammates perhaps) And THAT is mainly why some people never improve. You on the other hand had the actual balls to show your mistakes to someone with more experience and have them analyze and criticize them so you can learn from it. That is how you truly improve. I'm also pretty sure this applies to any aspect of life you want to get better at. So, keep at it. :)
I can see that you are a better player, the stress of having someone in your ear the whole time probably had some to do with it. Keep up the practice, and take the advice. Rewatch your games, write down your good and bad plays and rewatch them all. Your play was not an embarrassment, you showed maturity and strength in taking all of the criticism as it was intended, constructively! Good job, you will climb!
Just wanted to say I absolutely love having the post-game talks cut into the games. It really helps with the flow of the video IMO and makes it far easier to follow. Thanks for the great work you do!
I really empathise with the student's struggle here - hearing "go for the easy money" feels at odds with "go for the big plays that will be a checkmate and end the game". It feels like the reality is that decision-making of this kind is extremely difficult to teach. There's no simple heuristic that will have you making the right call more often than not. I guess the real takeaway is "know your damage". If she knew for a fact she could 100-0 that Lucian that would have made a difference in her decision-making.
I agree. That's a key idea. If you've got confidence in your ability to 100 to 0 the Lucian in that scenario then the low health Zilean and the full health Lucian are equally as vulnerable.
That's the entire crux of learning in these kinds of games. Everybody wants an easy answer, but there are none. The game shifts and changes literally by the second. The decisions you have to make come at you fast, and you have to know the pertinent information via your own experience, study, and practice, so that you can make that split second choice correctly. It's so much harder than most gamers know. They think "it's videogames, I been playing since I was a kid, anybody can do it! derpaderp". They couldn't be more wrong. Especially in competitive games, you either git real gud at them or you stay at the bottom. You don't get to show up for an hour every other day to play "4 fun" and think you deserve to be anything higher than the bottom. You don't get to be intellectually lazy processing all the information during the match, and then think you deserve to be higher rank when your decisions are like those of a blind man running through a minefield. There is so much going on at any given point in a moba that you have to know a lot, and know which info to process right now for the call. That's both the difficulty AND the fun of it.
At the end of the day, what you just mentioned her “knowing if she could 100-0 him then would of made a difference in her decision making” it literally is called limit testing . Some people call it “inting” but honestly … limit testing your champ in these scenarios is the best . I thrive for this, because next time you’ll know when that happens again you’ll know that you can do it and will be more confident

After the game when Neace was telling the client about the rules of the game and the situation they were in bot lane after top tower fell reminded me of this one coaching Neace did. "Just calmly walk under tower, auto Q him then ignite to put it away". (Garen player) For Neace this is an easy dive for him. For some clients it seems really crazy.
I really liked hearing "I'm not confident so I went for the thing that's easier" @28:50 and then NEACE gets excited, "EXACTLY!" When your champions abilities and movement are muscle memory, this type of high level decision making is easier.
Maybe its easier for iron players to learn easier champ. Eve is strong in low elo only if you know what you doing. She would be far better off with something like Nunu. Control objective just learn at what hp to q+smite easy game. Iron teams tilt hard when you take all drakes and barons just way less stressfull than learning game in squishy champ.
You can carry with this, don't get me wrong but sometimes you gave that 0-20 wukong or jax or whatever that is still building dmg after inting all game . That is normal in low iron,bronze silver. Evelyn doesn't do well there even if you know what you doing. Better off play something tanky or kill everything with something like Yi.
She can improve many stuff still. She make Iron 5 mistakes idc if she's plat. Look at that pathing around lvl 5 when she gank Kennen. Instead of going around just walk straight.. That would work if she is Rammus or Hecarim but not on Eve. Not thinking trough ahead of the play, undecicivness , lack of confidence that is all stuff that can improve and is normal Iron 5 stuff. Idc if you are diamond if you make Iron 5 mistakes you have to be able to tell yourself ok that was bad what can i do about that. If you don't do that ,you will be forever hard stuck in your "elo hell" . So don't defend her
I'm not defending her. But having played through Tiers Iron through Plat 1, there is a difference between ability in an Iron 5 player and Silver. Like, not sure how else to say it. Eve isn't that complicated.
Its promos , Bronze 1, 2-2, one last game . You're carrying the game , youre a huge pressure on the enemy team . You push 2 inhibs and your mom calls you. You beg her to give you 1 minute and ... "Reconnecting .. Please wait". But I wont give up . And so should you . We're all in the grind and never play norms (edit : im already in promos again lol)
At 15 minutes exactly, he tells her to go after Kennen because of the shutdown, and regardless of the play, Zilean had Locket , so nobody was going to die, but going after Annie might've been the better play since she's going to revive with lower health and the Zil ult is down. She also charmed Zilean which was wrong because it gave away that she's right there, and he didn't mention how she hsouldn't have used Charm because of that fact. Not that the play was WRONG per say, but Neace isn't helping her explore the other options to think about in hindsight. Things she could look for and decide on the fly. He's only teaching her ONE WAY to do things , which some high elo knowledge she has to suddenly get in her head and use, which is hard for low elo to suddenly just start reacting and using high elo decision making on the fly.

Why was it so meaningful the way he said that? I empathize with the inability to discern what's going on in chaotic team fights and feeling dumb afterward. Even in winning games and team fights I can spray and pray, come out ahead and feel dumb because I have no idea what just happened. This is where going over replays is an absolute must.

At 13:25, that play he later states the wave was under tower so she shoul dhave immediately gone under, which is wrong. Wave was no where near under tower, it was still almost completely in the middle of the lane. She also backed off to dodge the Zilean bomb, but he doesn't mention that at all. Also going for Lucian seems like a bad player, he's just going to be Zilean rezz'd, should've popped the rez, or charmed Lucian while Nautilus ulted him, Zilean is GOING to panic ult Lucian, and then Evelynn just immediately goes on the LOW BASE HEALTH ZILEAN, and blow him up for a kill. There's no way with that engage, Lucian leaves alive UNLESS he has flash.
Around 30 min, her instinct to path towards the zilean instead of the Lucian was almost big brain but I don’t think she saw the full play there. Zilean has the red X on him. You ult zilean and blink back towards the Lucian who’s charm has finished cooking. Double kill.
I think we need a tutorial on how to do jungle buffs... this is not the first time where I see people 'dodge' blue/red buff when it's not attacking and letting it hit them for free, taking way too much avoidable damage...

Feel like she does not know how Evelyn works properly and maybe you you should tell her about the circle she see around Evelyn when her passive is up. But overall nice video and good coaching!
Ok so individual points are great but at times you are acting like the coaching includes the objective of winning the game - yet you tell her to go on a long walk for ganks during teamfights - she needed to enable Ezrael to win it for the team - when low elo teams are already engaged they won't wait for a jg to sneak round the back when it takes 15 seconds - she wasn't going to win it by being absent whilst the team died and then skulking away to avoid a 1vs4. Point out the higher level play sure but train what will work in a given situation.
nautilus is low elo and even with full hp he won't tank a tower in a milion years... so this advice seemed weird to me, to slow down and wait for him, after all he even missed his q
At 23 minutes when she fails the fucking steal, he isn't bringing up how terribly she played that. She has FLASH.....ULT...and smite, and she chooses to first, CHARM THE DRAGON TO LET EEEEEEEEEEEVERYONE KNOW SHE'S COMING IT FOR A STEAL......then she ROCKET BELTS IN WHICH SHOWS HER POSITION AND LOCKS HER OUT FROM DOING ANYTHING FOR A SOLID HALF SECOND.....THEN SHE CASTS Q WHICH IS A CAST TIME AND ANIMATION LOCK....then is blown up and killed. That is so TERRIBLY wrong, holy crap, and he doesn't bring it up at all. She NEEDED to have flash ult smited it, she would have gotten it, 100%, they can't outsmite that. Maybe for a PSLIT SECOND, show to annie, then flash forward to dodge, or simply pay attention to the fact Annie has stun, which she didn't. She played that bad, and Neace isn't even bringing that up, at all. Like, if she just walks up adn ults it, whatever, fine, still wrong, not a big deal, but she did EVERYTHING wrong. Team died, she's still in river when she should be wrapping around to the back of the pit AWAY from Annie, went in with rocket belt, pressed Q, those two steps were completely unnecessary and pointless, and then died.
The part around 10 minutes, where she goes to bot like he says, and then the MOMENT she's ready to walk into bot and gnak, he goes "don't tunnel watch mid" , so she changes her fucking camera off bot, while she's on the edge of the fucking bot river basically in the lane, and has to walk to Tri so she doesn't BLIND WALK into bot, was wrong on NEACE'S part and there's no arguing that. The ADC legit fucking died because he made her stop going into bot to check mid, or risk walking into bot blind because her cam is on mid. He fucked up, and despite her getting ak ill, could have very easily just killed them both and saved the ADC. Legit wrong play from NEACE. Watching mid when you're that far on the map AND about to actively make a play, is wrong. You can't do that, you need to be paying attention to the lane you're going too when you're that close to getting there to see what's going down and what spells are being used. Not watching a lane you have NO hope of reaching in the next fifteen seconds. Watching for summs isn't that important twhen laners can just ping enemy summs.
Deffinitely not being favored by the pick, Eve excels at abusing mistakes but you need to be snappy at recognising them and act on it quickly, just don't see it here, might as well play xin...

They didn't use W in general... And when they did, they just insta proc it rather than wait so they can get the charm
They used it on the gromp after starting it but they needed to use it in their ganks

W on camps is actually slower clear. They're just not kiting properly during clears. You can full clear on eve by 3:15 or sooner.

It’s that or lose wave XP and turret plating to Kennen which pits your team at a disadvantage and allows for more snowballing on Kennens end.
It's one of the easiest ways to know to mute that teammate though.

If that's her ping on the top right she's also playing on 150 ping that sounds awful to play in.

She has FLASH.....ULT...and smite, and she chooses to first, CHARM THE DRAGON TO LET EEEEEEEEEEEVERYONE KNOW SHE'S COMING IT FOR A STEAL......then she ROCKET BELTS IN WHICH SHOWS HER POSITION AND LOCKS HER OUT FROM DOING ANYTHING FOR A SOLID HALF SECOND.....THEN SHE CASTS Q WHICH IS A CAST TIME AND ANIMATION LOCK....then is blown up and killed. That is so TERRIBLY wrong, holy crap, and he doesn't bring it up at all. She NEEDED to have flash ult smited it, she would have gotten it, 100%, they can't outsmite that. Maybe for a PSLIT SECOND, show to annie, then flash forward to dodge, or simply pay attention to the fact Annie has stun, which she didn't. She played that bad, and Neace isn't even bringing that up, at all. Like, if she just walks up adn ults it, whatever, fine, still wrong, not a big deal, but she did EVERYTHING wrong. Team died, she's still in river when she should be wrapping around to the back of the pit AWAY from Annie, went in with rocket belt, pressed Q, those two steps were completely unnecessary and pointless, and then died.

The part around 10 minutes, where she goes to bot like he says, and then the MOMENT she's ready to walk into bot and gnak, he goes "don't tunnel watch mid" , so she changes her fucking camera off bot, while she's on the edge of the fucking bot river basically in the lane, and has to walk to Tri so she doesn't BLIND WALK into bot, was wrong on NEACE'S part and there's no arguing that. The ADC legit fucking died because he made her stop going into bot to check mid, or risk walking into bot blind because her cam is on mid. He fucked up, and despite her getting ak ill, could have very easily just killed them both and saved the ADC. Legit wrong play from NEACE. Watching mid when you're that far on the map AND about to actively make a play, is wrong. You can't do that, you need to be paying attention to the lane you're going too when you're that close to getting there to see what's going down and what spells are being used. Not watching a lane you have NO hope of reaching in the next fifteen seconds. Watching for summs isn't that important twhen laners can just ping enemy summs.
