the Joe Hisaishi disrespect is honestly shameful, and the Suzume snub is god awful. Nolan and the Oppenheimer team are saving this ceremony bc so many of the other categories were just Lazy with a capital L.
I’m also disappointed that Joe Hasaishi didn’t get nominated! He has consistently done amazing work in so many Studio Ghibli films for decades, and his score in “The Boy and the Heron” is one of his best works!

Even if Hillary Swank wasn’t nominated that year, I doubt Annette would’ve won for “Being Julia”. She’d probably lose to either Imelda Staunton for “Vera Drake” or Kate Winslet in “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, in my opinion. She would’ve definitely had won for “The Kids Are Alright” if it wasn’t for Natalie Portman in “Black Swan”.

Director Greta Gerwig and Producer/title character Margot Robbie created a female-centric 1.5 billion dollar mega hit. Both were nominated at almost every other awards group, and yet the Academy shut them both out. Disgusted. Waiting to see if the men I follow on TH-cam are half as outraged as they were at Denis V not getting a nom for Dune.
You seriously think Robbie's performance was Oscar-worthy? It was not even the best of her career by a long shot. The script worked more in Ken's favor in terms of showing off acting range. Robbie only really got to show off her acting chops in the last 10-15 minutes of the film. Gerwig I would've like to see nominated but nobody can say the Academy doesn't like her when she has been nominated for Best Director before and always seems to get some nomination when she releases a film. I just cant quite understand why people are outraged instead of recognizing it was a strong year for female lead movies. How is that a bad thing? And you should already know their box office numbers are irrelevant. If they were then Marvel movies would've been winning tons of awards for the past decade.
I've yet to see any reasoning for John Williams' later career franchise nominations (star wars sequels and indy). I know theres a threshold of amount of original stuff to get in, but watching the movies it doesn't feel like there is any thing new at all, at least nothing impactful. I'm sure if you listened through the entire soundtrack there might be some new stuff but they are hardly noticeable or great. Its not like the Return of the King, where there are very notable and powerful themes that aren't in the other movies. Haven't found anyone justifying his nominations either but he seems to be a darling in the academy for all his life. Smart of Williams to say it is going to be his last score.

Saltburn getting no technical awards just shows the bias of this entire thing. Unless you are part of the inner circle you won't get nominated. Charles Melton obviously deserved a nomination, but didn't have the right connections. Clearly America Ferrirera did because her performance in Barbie was the worst of the main cast. Even the child actor put in a better performance. Ferreira sounded like she was still on the Superstore set.

Many of the orchestras have a financial foundation based on criminal activity. They commit wire fraud by soliciting donations with false information. There's a massive amount of jealousy based mental illness, because of Bernstein's assault on arts education. I provide many examples of irrefutable evidence on this subject.
