    I don't miss the days of shooting on film one bit! Be keen to hear your thoughts on how you find shooting on one versus the other and your thought processes as you are framing shots.

    • @SophiaCarey
      @SophiaCarey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve actually spoken about the comparison quite a lot on the channel! And my thoughts on shooting 120 compared to 35mm. Generally speaking, I prefer the process of medium format in terms of how satisfying it is, and I love the look of it when I get it right, but I feel a lot more confident with digital so still prefer that as an overall medium at this point! Thanks for watching ✨

    Hey Sophia, great video! If you want to retain the details in her top and overall in the shadows you can meter for the shadows. Film should have enought dynamic range that it can handle the overexposure fine while preserving all the details in the darker areas. Keep it up, wish you a great start in 2021!

    Good video! The model is also clearly very experienced, that's something that makes life much easier, at least for me usually. Some of the film shots are a tad underexposed, but I believe that's the light meter app not being fully accurate + metering for the highlights. Don't worry about overexposing a bit

    I really recommend getting a nice tripod if you're going to use the Mamiya in the studio makes life a lot easier to shooting. Also what meter do you use? The shots look great, but a bit underexposed.

    • @SophiaCarey
      @SophiaCarey  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've dabbled with using a tripod (in studio and on location) and although I like it and it definitely made the focusing process, I prefer it for landscape/street work. I definitely prefer shooting handheld when it comes to portraits, it just suits my style and the way that I work a lot better. Yes these shots are definitely very underexposed! It's actually a new camera (I used to shoot on the RB, rather than the RZ) and all of my shots have been underexposed since getting it, despite overexposing the shots, so I'm looking at investing in a better light meter and seeing if that does the trick. Thanks for watching!

    • @shotwithchris4357
      @shotwithchris4357 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SophiaCarey I've been shooting on the RB for a little over a year. Thinking about picking up a RZ for the 110mm. Try the neck strap out too, I think it makes the process of resetting the camera after you take the photos a bit faster. Sekonic makes a decently priced handheld meter. I'm sure you've seen it around, but I think it's a game changer for sure.

    • @SophiaCarey
      @SophiaCarey  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shotwithchris4357 I got the RZ for the 110mm too. I still love my RB but the RZ is beaut. Ooh let me know how the neck strap works out for you. And yes, that’s what I’m looking at!
