    I think what separates your channel is how informative and helpful you are. It's not just about 'look how good my photos look', it's always about 'this is what I learnt' 'this is where things went wrong' 'here are some tips'. Keep it up!

    This is my favourite video you’ve ever put out. Even as someone who know’s your story and has seen your progression over the past 5 years first hand, hearing you talk about it is so inspiring. You deserve all the success that comes your way 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

    I loved hearing your story and I’ve really enjoyed seeing your photography get better and better on IG. As someone in mid-life with a stable career who has been venturing further into photography as a side hustle, it’s inspiring to hear stories from others.

    I think the key to progression in most fields is to curate the advice & resources you utilise, that’s a skill in itself, something I didn’t really grasp effectively until my mid 20’s (in my NHS career & life in general, not started photography at that point).
    It’s always struck me that you seem to have made smart choices from a young age twinned with tenacity & no short amount of bravery!

    Interesting about the Epidemic Sound AI tool - I've spent so many hours looking for appropriate tracks. Thanks for that tip. Interesting to hear about the music photography - weirdly, I met a music\concert photographer on a train a few months ago. Funny how paths can cross. We follow each other now though I think she is currently covering a tour in Europe until January. As for the social media stuff - that's a can of worms. It's a bit "chicken and egg" - as you say, I know some amazing photographers who either dont have socials, or barely use them. In fact, it almost seems to be the case that not having them is a badge of honour these days! Without them, though, it is difficult to reach people because of everyones reliance on it these days. That said, Jose Villa (world renowned wedding photographer) has 400K followers and replies personally to messages still, despite him not needing it at all. What a guy he is.

      I’d definitely recommend the Epidemic Sound AI tool! I loved Epidemic Sound even before the sound match feature but it’s definitely a nice touch.
      Definitely agree re: social media. From my perspective, I’ve really enjoyed using social media in my career and I’m very grateful for it - but it’s also not a “must” if that’s not the route you want to take as a photographer.
      Thanks so much for watching! Hope you’re doing well

    Thank you for this video... Would you say Lightroom is better than VSCO?

    • @SophiaCarey
      @SophiaCarey  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for watching! And absolutely! VSCO is a great, cheap option for casual photography (I use it all of the time for my iPhone photos), but it’s lacks the proper tools to be able to edit your photos professionally. Using Lightroom is going to teach you so much more about editing and your own work than VSCO will. Honestly, in my mind, they’re not comparable. Lightroom wins in a professional capacity every time.
      That being said, there are other editing softwares other than Lightroom that could be used in a professional capacity if Lightroom isn’t for you. For example, Capture One is always a great, industry standard editing software.

      @@SophiaCarey Thank you so much Sophia! I feel Lightroom is the same as VSCO. But maybe I just haven't gave Lightroom a chance like I have with VSCO.

    • @SophiaCarey
      @SophiaCarey  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MALIAMAVideos Lightroom has so many more tools than VSCO so definitely give it an explore. Play around with tone and RGB curves, for example!
