As someone who doesn't have a relationship with his father, hearing Matt say "I wanna spend time with my boy" really hit me. Y'all are great people.
Same for me. I'm glad I'll at least be able to have that kind of relationship with my (future) son one day God willing.
@@andrewk8636 yes, it's awesome!
Daughters too!
Agree. I lost my dad to cancer when I was a young person 47 (!) years ago. So many times I needed a conversation and some time with him. I've spent a lot of time being a dad who was in the kids lives.
I had full custody of my girl and boy for 12 years... They had a Mother, but she had issues... Kids NEED Fathers
From a Dad that loves and misses his kids but their minds have been warped by the ex so that don't talk to me - l'm sorry.
I also didn't have a good relationship with my dad or my brother, (both gone now), so it's a double whammy...
Tom: "What does this thing do?" Matt: "It is designed to spill gas." This is so true.
Seriously I never spilled gas until I used one of those. All of my gas cans have them removed
Amazon has real nozzle kits.@@themaskedmusician4846
@@themaskedmusician4846 If I need a gas can I buy one of those HDPE water jerry cans with a spout.
Brought to you courtesy of the splendid mechanical insight of your delightful federal gummint.
Thanks to the Obama era EPA and the Green New Deal.
Kudos to Colby for being a very good drone operator. His shots are awesome and he's most def an asset to the team.
100%
@cancer_sucks you Should be Proud. Yes, Cancer Does Suck! God Bless You
They are really good shots! Nice work Colby.
Most underrated guy ❤
It's easy for everyone stop the 🧢
The drone footage adds so much to give the viewer an overhead perspective of the terrain, the dogs, and rescue vehicles. Most Outstanding.
We also would like a Lizzy Update on the Ranch Life. Maybe a short cameo appearance in The Heavy Wrecker?
It has come to my attention that Jamie seems to know how to lock the hubs in with the new Voice control technology. Good to see the team doing what they do best! Entertaining me!!!!
I have been towed by many chains, but my best story was when I was towed across town in a VW camper van with a garden hose to the scrapyard. I think that it stretched a little more than a kinetic rope. LOL
omg, you made my day.😂 i also have been there done that. the 50 ft garden hose stretched at least 20 extra feet in the 1/2 a mile it was used. we pulled a old chevy luv pickup to the south 40 for target practice. lol... have a great day🤣
Made my first recovery on the Oregon coast using my Yankum rope. Didn’t get it on film unfortunately but it was a full success! Because of this channel I have the knowledge so a big thank you to the MORR team. 💛🖤💛🖤👍😁
sounds like great word of mouth advertising.
I'm not planning to rescue anything, but I kinda wanna get one anyway, cause I think it's cool.
great to see it working as advertised!
@@schumannresonanceswithverte
I bought mine from Alan and Casey at the Overland expo here in OR. I bought mine incase I needed rescuing. I never thought I’d be the rescuer. Always go prepared. So happy I was. 👍
Matt it’s not just you but your family and friends are so inspiring. I’m very lucky that you have decided to devote so much energy and time into sharing your stories with us
I wish Matt hired more editors so we could have a MORR video every day of the week. It brightens my day every time I see there's a new MORR video.
I have commented to this effect before, WAY better than 100% of broadcast/reality TV! When Tom showed his relay/power block “glovebox” I was reminded of an old co-worker’s commentary on wiring.…”it’s only temporary” 😆
Nothing more permanent than a temporary fix
Using knees as dampers is an S tier trick, thank you for sharing that
Breaking thumbs is a real concern in track racing (what I typically do) and off road things (what you typically do)
In track land we even instruct to hold the steering wheel entirely on the outside now in order to prevent thumb breaks
Your dogs seem to be having the time of their lives on the recovery. Glad they get to be a part of your operation.
I noticed that too..
Love the bra stuck on the running board near the stuck wheel. Either the driver was having a helluva time or sadly it was in the washout.
I came here to state this also
Youngins playin some sort of strip game😳
It may say more about me than the "young-uns" that I zeroed in instantly; "Hey, that's a BRA!!!"
13:40
I was hoping that somebody else noticed that! Makes me wonder if it contributed to the crash? I'm not too old to remember being a teenager.
Years ago I sat in a meeting or two with Tom-Tom. He’s always been pretty chill. Funny that a nuclear engineer is now a TH-camr!
I love that Tom has joined the MORR family tradition of running out of gas! In the 70’s when I was getting my Army driving licence I was taught to drive with my thumbs outside of the wheel to avoid getting them broken. We were driving land rovers and 5 tonne trucks without power steering, so I don’t think it is a power steering issue. To unstick vehicles, I always carried a high lift jack, which may have helped in the second recovery.
I loved that little Tom segment sitting in the truck bed on the side of the road thinking about his life choices 😂😂😂
The drone shots were excellent ! Love the dogs running, they are so hip to what's going on.
At 5:37 he says, "I think it's a Ford Exploder", truer words have never been spoken, lol!
Once you hear it called that, it'll always be the "Exploder". Great name for it.
I wonder how many folks remember what instance in history granted them the 'Exploder' moniker.
I absolutely LOVE the editing here. There’s so much comic relief in it & it just makes things better!
A also miss Lizzy (after seeing her in the clip for 2.5 seconds).
Y’all rock! (Pun intended)
Any idea where she is?
@@kirkkirchner2405 She got married and now works the family ranch.
"It ain't over, its not over til (checks nonexistent watch) ...Im dead"
Haha I felt that one
Matt did a great job of planning this recovery. He knew he had a totally totalled Lincoln.
Great teamwork despite TT's good recovery of himself.
I've said it before, but Jake has taken to the camera like a duck to water. Dude's a natural, has a great personality, and is an all-around great addition to the regulars we see from your team!
"Don't break your thumbs, use your knees..."
Got it! Little gems of knowledge are awesome, keep 'em coming!
I like the honesty with the gas can "Its designed to spill gas"! Truest statement ever.
Thank you for showing the pups getting water. I know you must hydrate them but it feels good to watch them drinking. 😊
I am hooked on this series.. got a nice balance of a mild drama with positive people working together , cars and trucks, playing in the dirt , and all going on in beautiful scenery....... sweet ~!
I’m really happy to see Colin mobile and smiling.
Tom is never going hear the end of it now that he ran out of gas after chastising Matt so much… 😂
Matt's trained him well.
He did that on purpose just to make Matt happy. Some kind of reverse psych.
Yup... Always gas up, even if you are only 3 gallons from full.

@@MattsOffRoadRecovery WoW, thank you.. I am sorry I missed a few a while back...
Great Drone shot.
I appreciate so much that there’s no cussing on any of the videos that I have seen (12 or more…), thank you! All y’all are cool, smart and entertaining!
I'm very sure they swear behind the scenes just like you do. Denial is the first form of recovery
MAT AND ALL ARE GREAT.
I’ve lost temper occasionally, but it really doesn’t accomplish anything. I’m also glad they don’t feel the need to share it.
That dead stick pulling tip about keeping your knees on the steering wheel is simple and solid! Great tip.
I have towed and have been towed by straps, chains, and even steel cables. Matt is soooo, correct about the night and day difference kinetic ropes (Matt's Tow Ropes) make!
100% true fact there
actually in this case matt is 100% using the wrong gear and he found out the hard way this job shoulda been done with steel cable tire slings and some chain if neccessary but matt has been towing a long time but he will always get the job done with the wrong gear thats just matt smart but for all the wrong reasons
@@TylerDuysen most jobs like this could be done 20 different ways. It depends on equipment, people. Matt said the tow truck would be his go to. Failing that he looked over job.. Minor damage to vehicle not a major concern. A lift brace, way to fill in hole, lift off of rock nice. But assumes equipment not normally handy. If he had a pay loader handy. He would have done it different. I have never used a winch with “cloth” rope. Just steel cable. Next winch will likely have rope.
while you are absolutely correct on the first part you are 100% wrong on the second to be absolutely polite matt was an idiot for doing this job with the wrong gear he put everyone in danger using synthetic rope instead of steel cable sythetic rope should only ever be used in a static environment (other than the sling ropes ) and they arent for sharp rocks etc matt knew better and did it anyway @@larrythompson8630
A few people will gratefully appreciate your hint about using the knees as a buffer on the steering wheel when there is no power steer available. A few old Toyota drivers have "Toyota elbow". The old ones had a doorlatch assembly which was just in the correct place for the funnybone area to be smashed against it when the steering kicked.
Don't burn yourself out Matt. Take a day off. All the world's troubles will still be there when you get back.
True story!
That's kinda the problem, take a day off all the problems are still there and you've got less time to solve them.
@RenaxTM91 Problems are endless. Your time on this earth is limited. Choose wisely.
great video!

Matt, me and my wife just finished our 21 day usa roadtrip and I just couldnt resist visiting your shop. I even got the chance to pet peanut a little.. was awesome to see the shop and cars in person. Be safe and carry on!
When you think about the amount of pressure that rope was under to physically move the jeep when it snapped is mind blowing. Glad you don't use steel cables, that would have hurt someone otherwise. It really shows just how good you are at this.
This is why i tell people synthetic rope still snaps back. People dont seem to understand that the energy has to go somewhere no matter whats being used.
I used a 4in strap to straighten a truck frame. Other end was wrapped around a tree without a knot and when it snapped it bunched up under the wheel before the truck dropped 3 inches back onto the ground
Jamie, “Why are we buying a gas can?”
I love this crew so much! Matt, you have an amazing family and team!
That's what I want to know...
These guys have run out so often by now that they've already bought at least 2 spare cans PER vehicle...so why aren't they ON the vehicles and full of spare gas for just such an occurrence?
I liked her question about the lime, besides it being a fruit. Lol 😂
I have done some not-so-smart things with vehicles when I was a teenager, but not like that. Glad you guys mentioned that permits are required to enter the caves. I would have gone on that trail and could only enjoy the views of the river valley. Thanks for sharing.
And I'm sure you would have never left extra tie down straps hanging halfway out your car like the owners did at 23:37 !
Colby's done shots are next level. Jakes personality is so entertaining. There is so much to like about this channel!
And I love seeing the banana out on recoveries!
His drone shots are pretty cool too!
Enjoy it while it lasts! The cast of MORR doesn’t stick around long.
That Tom can embrace the radical paradigm shift of how his days go is the most informative thing in this episode
I’ve been going back and watching the old videos, I can’t say anyone can throw a car in park and open the door any quicker than Matt. Y’all are great for the support you give people and the community.
Matt I love the fact you are training the next generation with your kids stepping up is a great thing to see.
Team work and having extra horsepower definitely helped.
The bra on the running board around the 25min mark 😂
What an extraordinary fleeting image at 4 minutes 28 of capturing massive sedimentary deposition. You live in such a unique part of North America and one of the highlights of Matt’s Off-road videos is getting a glimpse of the many geological outcrops and sedimentary layers. Love your work
If you're interested in that stuff at all there are so many mindblowing places all over the Four Corners, but especially Utah. I can look at rock walls in Moab for days at a time
@@todayiwanthis I follow a couple of geologists who work in the area, Michael Oard and Dr Snelling. I’m looking forward to visiting this part of the US next year, will include a visit to the Grand Canyon.
Hi from New Zealand
@@stephenbell-booth2648
I agree with you 100%. I grew up in South Florida where the only mountains are owned by the county (the rest of the world calls them garbage dumps )😁. My wife and I visited the Grand Canyon 6-7 years ago and it was truly breathtaking. I want to go back and see more of the area.
By the way, if you just write out the time with a colon, it will link to the spot on the video 4:28.
Just some quick advice, if you format the time in the video you're referring to as such: 4:28 , youtube will turn it into a link that will take you to that part of the video.
Molly's "Mountain". 😅 good job keeping it family friendly!
All of us have been to lots of scenic places in our lives. Some might not appreciate the beauty of the country in Matt's videos, but the view is just incredible and wall to wall blue sky. I love it.
I think out of all the people on this page I want to meet Peanut the most.
Matts cool but dogs rule
And max!
Dont forget Lady ❤❤❤
Peanut is my favorite. She reminds me of a female border collie I once had.
Pinat is not people
The bra hanging out the back door of the Lincoln explains so much. 😆
Hope you're not overworking yourself too much Matt, everybody deserves some time off. Thanks for doing what you do!
Always used heavy logging chains or a polypropylene cable but that was 50 years ago using an old school Power Wagon with 2 ton drivelines. One tow was a Volvo Wagon and I was surprised at how heavy it was compared to other vehicles its size as it was really working the 440. Turns out the owner forgot the keys in the trunk and when he gave me the signal to go and he found out he forgot his 4 wheel hydraulic parking brake locked which required the keys to unlock. He also forgot he had to flash the lights as the signal to stop since with the factory straight through muffler I couldn't hear the wimpy Euro Horn and we were going between 35 and 40 mph with all 4 of his wheels locked when he finally flashed his lights. It felt much lighter after he released the brake but I could feel the out of round thumping of his tires through the chain.
After that I always pulled 10 to 20 feet first and then got out to verify things before proceeding.
One hot day the tires dug into a asphalt patio so well while pulling tree stumps with the PTO military winch on the front it actually slid the 20X30 foot patio almost a foot before we realized what was happening. The engine was just idling and the 5/8 inch cable on the winch wasn't stressed at all. They started calling it The Beast after that. The winch on The Beast shredded the 10 ton polypropylene cable like it was wet spaghetti one day as if it didn't even exist.
Best!
No power steering, no problem. I’ve got leg power. That is a gem of knowledge. Thanks Matt!
I learned a long time ago when 4-wheeling never hook your thumbs around the steering wheel where the spokes can whip around and injure your thumbs, on a non-power steering 4x4. Using your legs to damper the steering wheel I never heard of but what a great idea. That gold car was an insane trip recovery, and it was a blast watching you two cracking up. Hope Lizzy is doing well. That is funny Tom Tom running out of gas. I guess Matt is rubbing off on him. What no orange Tom Tom? At least you got 'em out for another successful recovery.
Dropped by your shop on a trip. Your guys were courteous and friendly! Nice to know your are as real in person as you are on videos!
People: do not do this.
@@edwardschmitt5710, my comment could be interpretted as me going into the shop disrupting their business, not the case. I dropped by the gift shop, signed the waiver to go in the yard. While in the yard one of the guys came out and talked to me. I was very pleased by the experience while following their rules.
Watching Matt pondering how to deploy recovery assets like a general looking at a battlefield is a thing off beauty. Awesome job!
Tom has by far the best and most practical truck. Box body forever.
“It’s not over until….I’m dead”
😂😂😂
I’m really happy to see you Tom! You are completely different from the roughneck attitude Matt’s channel started out with. But I love your intellectual inputs, bravo Tom Tom ❤
It was nice to see Lizzie again, even if it was just a brief glimpse from the past. I miss her.
Jefe needs to do an episode about all that he has done to his Bronco, including the options he added from Ford…Super impressive!
Good video, nice cuts and variety. Great to see how you let the dogs come along and it is the highlight of their life. Good camaraderie, good feelings and everyone works together to get the job done.
Excellent recovery guys....thanks for the flashbacks of Lizzy !!..... your boys are coming along Excellent !!!......you've got a well oiled machine goin on with all your help...and it's not by accident....GOOD JOB !
Matt, love seeing you and your boys interacting and just conversing!! It warms the soul!!!
Oracle Lighting has an awesome additional lighting for Jeffe's Bronco. They mount just ahead of the front doors on the quarter panels. Saw them on the TechZone channel. They also had a gadget that Jamie would probably appreciate. It's a step that hooks through the door latch just when you need it. It allows us shorter people to easily reach items on the roof.
That Peanut is one lucky dog. He is always with his Pack. Whether its hanging in the shop or heading out on a recovery. Peanut is always right in the middle of the action. That’s one happy dog! 🐕
Very much enjoying the addition of more drone shots on recoveries. Just cool to see the area and the rolling shots of the vehicles you've built are sweet.
The new Mavic 3 Pro is such a weapon of a drone, and I can immediately see Colby is taking full advantage of the different shooting options available!
I really enjoy these types of episodes. You learn a lot (although I am too nerdy for this type of adventure). Matt's phrase is very good "You have to do things with the right equipment."
Wow Matt as tired as you were, you were able to instruct & direct the symmetry to the team to get this unrecoverable to recoverable!! Fantastic job!!
Whoever was driving that Navigator was not navigating well!😂
In this case, it’s not a navigator, it was a Navaguesser! Bad guess!
I was a member of GPAA. Never worked so hard, moved so many boulders just to find a few of those shiny Gold Nuggets. Had a ball panning sunup to sundown. And, a bunch of cold ones in between.
I don't think I've known anyone to run out of fuel the way you guys do and it's hilarious. Keep up the great work guys.
So much fun watching these guys working out in such beautiful conditions, or not, but totally joyful! Thanks guys!
Matt I love you and ALL your team!! Please take care of your health!! All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!!!❤ God bless you!!❤
Y'all have such a wonderful family working for you! Seeing everyone helping each other out of jams is so cool!! Love y'all MORR family!!
Very tough recovery, but you guys nailed it. Great job, Matt.
Get some rest!!
Impressive to see how the business has grown over the years! Really happy for you and your family.
These recovery videos are fantastic. They make me want to go out there and get stuck just so I would get to hang out with the awesome MORR crew!! 😂
Keep up the great work and enjoyable content!!
So glad you showed the dogs drinking water! That'll hush the dog lovers thinking you mistreat them...
No it won't
Dog lover here, and those dogs are all living their best lives.
@@Chrisamic 100% agreed
Not a dog lover here, but even I know, letting a dog be a dog is what real dog lovers do.
They’ll be mad the water was to hot, or to cold, or not from a specific spring.
I imagine the people comparing either have a dog as a fashion accessory, keep their dog locked up, or tied up all the time.
26:55 is it a bra hanging down ? lmao no wonder why they were here xD
"working on their night moves"...
Man... the times change.... the whole "I love synthetic lines when they break" is so much a 2023ish statement. I'm a 1990's sailor... synthetic lines back then would cut you in half when they broke. Kevlar vs nylon, changed the world.
Is that a brassiere hanging out of the bottom of the back door around 24:30 ?
Looks it lol. I was wondering myself and went to look in the comments.
lol, kids will be kids!
We all remember those days!
Long week. Matt dead tired. Riding out in the hot, musty Navigator with the door cracked open. Colin “why did you get in here…there’s a nice AC Bronco back there?” Matt, “because I wanted to hang with my boy.” Sums it all up.
Lizzy is missed. Wishing her all the best in her endeavours. We miss her.
We want Lizzy! We want Lizzy! We want Lizzy...
Amen!
It's also great that she moved on with her own life...
That bra hanging out of the Navigator!! 😅😅
I really hope Matt gets the rest he deserves, after watching these videos for so long I've never or hardly heard him complain about being tired
“It’s designed to spill gas.” Truer words have rarely been spoken. I have a collection of off road style tanks to avoid the horrors of the “no spill” variety
I keep coming back to these videos just to see the amazing job you guys do working out real-world problems in real-time.
The owner of that Navigator must be real happy with his kid! 😮
And the lingerie on the running board to boot.
Buttons ARE a lot of fun. Lol Love watching how well all of you work together. The lime was hilarious. Every recovery should have a lime. 😂
And a rubber chicken
in complete honesty, i watch the content for the background scenery as much as the rescues.
More sometimes, it seems
Sometimes the rescues are so-so, relative to the field therof.
You folks are experts at this point, and make it look really easy.
Yet, the background scenery is always interesting,
from someone on the other coast.
Thank you for all that you do.
Wow. Love love love the Drone shots. Keep them coming. Gives such a great perspective and understanding of the terrain and geography. Kudos to the operator.
Definitely one of the more technically challenging ones that Matt and team have encountered. Took a lot of thought process. Hope you guys get a break for a bit to catch up on rest!!
Let us all hope for another wet winter. Thank you for the show!
I love the bra hanging off the running board
Much respect!!! All you guys have such great attitudes and such great problem solving. Keep it up. Thanks for the videos and keeping us part of your adventure
I saw a video the other day on fatigue management step 1 figure out what type of fatigue you have: physical, mental, or spiritual.
Step 2 : remove yourself from that for a the right amount of time to get your type of rest.
Step 3: prepare your self to restart for success. Thanks for sharing.
You always need gas before you go anywhere. If you are stopping at a store with gas and planning on going off road, you always top off the tank. ALWAYS.
This is a top ten morr video in my book. Matt had me laughing the whole time and I love watching him think and figure out which way to pull to get the truck to move in the right way.
It might not be the best way...
Matt just giving you a hard time here. That's what happens when someone hangs out with you. They forget to pay attention to the gas gauge or underestimate the amount of gas they have in the tank. 😂
I’d love to see some cameos of a dog’s eye view of some of these recoveries, with a go-pro on the doggo! Peanut Cam!
Ever watch your old videos from 3 years ago and look back and think wow how far you’ve come and progressed not just techniques but staff that’s with you and all. It’s crazy! I was watching your old old videos and thought of that 😆
It might have been easier to winch the rocks.
we put watermelons over cigs but the bra on the running board is out there for the internet lol.... what were those teens doin
Being teens off course!
Reminds me of the Bob Seger song, "Night Moves"!
