I love the clean finished look. That really made a difference! Well done Chelsea!!
I might have sanded and painted the wall first, primed the wood after cutting. Looks really nice!
That's what I thought.
Love this!!
Great video and tutorial.
How far apart did you space out the batten? Looks soo good.
hi i love what you did! my ceilings are 8ft-would i still start at 60 inches from baseboard?
Hi J.D.! These are 8 foot ceilings in the video, so 60 inches will work for you! But it's totally subjective, too! ~Chelsea
Looks nice. You nailed the battens to the drywall? How is that going to hold? Also, I would recommend wood without knots such as poplar or MDF (instead of pine), or there is a special bonding primer that will properly cover pine knots. I'm going to do this too but install a 1/4" wood backing sheet so I have something to nail to and I'll use my battery finish nailer instead of an air compressor.

You should have added trim around the HVAC return and then added the stile . Ending the stile on top of the hvac vent looks janky.
Kevin Nichols adding trim around the return just draws more attention to the return. I think it would have been ideal to start the 20” centers on that wall and hopefully miss the return altogether.
