Thanks so much for explaining each step. You two are adorable! I'm about to do it in a wide, very long entry that's painted brown (if you can believe anyone would do that!). The whole house is dark so I'm redoing every wall and the ceilings and woodwork to brighten it and this board and batten (with thicker stiles) and white paint will make our entry much more welcoming. Thanks for the video!
This was very helpful, thank you. I like the dynamic between the two of you, you seem to enjoy projects together. I love that you mixed it up a little with height and lattice boards, it was perfect for the hallway. So often people don't take finished space into consideration and are left with a hallway that feels like it's closing in.
Guys, thanks for making the video and it is so much fun watching you guys doing it together, loves it. Have a wonderful day. :)
We used a Craftsman Evolv from Sears. The whole kit (which included air compressor and 18g brad nailer) was $70, so it was perfectly priced for a project like this. We've been very happy with it.
Great. Thanks much for the info, will check it out. Loved your project, I'm inspired!
Thanks for the video, really helpful! About how much did the project cost you overall?
Chair rail can be done over the panels and base trim looks great underneath the wainscoting panels!
"And that's how I found my husband." Hahahahahah that was excellent!
Since we already had things like paint, primer and caulk on hand - our only cost was the wood, which totaled $57.
Great video. Really helpful. What nailer did you use? So many out there with mixed reviews. Are you still happy with it?
Thank you! It looks like the top edge of your baseboards is flat (lucky you), but ours are curved. Do you happen to know how you cut the vertical boards so they will line up well against curved baseboards? (My best guess = MAGIC!)
you can add more molding flipped over so that the fat part is on to also allows you to use a thicker batton.
Did you caulk the sides of each batten or just the boards
?Why did you choose 40 " from floor? Is that chair rail height?
Please what the name for the tools that you using. Thanks
I think you should have used some glue as well.
Buy a cheap router and do some design of the edge.
The stiles are too thin. Should be the same thickness as the tiop rail. Not a great look. 1/2" MDF all around would be better.
Actually no it shouldn’t. Just going by what the mounding shop told me. Or maybe they’re wrong, they have only been in business for 45 years.
Funny....board and Batton without the board
