The little jokes and songs you make up are soooooo funny and as I keeps saying the information/how-to just keep me coming back, amazing video as always.
I prefer circle as confirm and cross as back because it matches Nintendo's A and B so it makes it easier to switch between consoles without having to get used to the layout again. Plus it makes more sense for the symbols, circle is okay and x is back.
Watching you & a few other channels got me buying & setting up a workroom for electronics, growing up i took shit apart all the time. I ordered some kid/educational/ teaching electronics that I will learn to solder & hopefully (repair) stuff 1 day, I'm 44 & a electrical superintendent so i am good with fabbing & circs
I am hooked on these. I enjoy the uploads of the repairs. Please continue. If I ever get some time to start on a hobby it would definitely be this for some hands on.
Nice easy to watch videos. Your soldering is always consistent, it makes easier to understand. Thanks for getting me through my quarantine. Hopefully you get your well deserved million subscribers this year. Keep Grinding Away.
some regions have Circle for Enter , i think Japanese models do that but don't quote me on this. i just know they by default had circle for enter and X for back , they later put in the option to revert that if people wanted.
Hello mate, How can I kick start the pfc circuit of a ps4 original power supply, out of the unit? I'm not sure about which two pins to jump. My power supply puts out 4.7 volts, but the 12 volt doesn't start.
Hey mate, this is getting funnier and funnier to watch you doing your impressive repairs. Please keep it up, I love watching your videos. How about some retro stuff from time to time? Or is that to boring to repair? ;) best from Germany. Love your accent
the reason why the button is O = X and so on is because the console is from japan. As when I bought a ps3 it was imported from japan and i was confused as well, luckily when you insert and EU disc in and play a game it will automatically configure to default settings.
Yep running chips hotter reduces lifespan. Sometimes considerably. That's why overclocking your PC will invalidate the warranty. More power in equals more heat out as one of the reasons. There are more.
@UCy0Kx884Yx1wBptwRHi7n-A definitely lol. It's a very good point though, and most people think the console is fine just because it hasn't reported as overheating. Chip degradation is probably the single biggest cause of failure for the encoder on these things
Button swap has maybe done because the user is used to play with a Nintendo console. These have the "accept" button on the right, instead of bottom. That would be a explaination.
hello pls one question can i replace cxd90051gb with cxd90043gb apu both are ps4 slim, and are all stencils for reballing apu same i ordered one and looks exactly as other stencils, thank you
Originally the circle represented a "yes" in the idea of encircling your choice, and "x" which is really a cross, is to cross out a choice so as to say no. But it does make a lot of sense also if you gane on Playstation and Nintendo a lot, because the "circle = yes" and "cross = no" layout coincides with Nintendo's A/B layout use. The nunber of times I've cancelled something on Nintendo because my mind is "in Xbox mode", or vise versa. So in Japan it makes perfect sense, as they are almost all Sony and/or Nintendo, and barely touch an Xbox, so without looking know exactly where cancel and accept always are. People that play a lot of JRPGs like this layout a lot.
Any tips on wicking, having real trouble. Doesn't seem to pull solder out of holes, instead draws it off iron. Regularly sticks to board. Driving me mad
hey, you make super great videos. It is inexplicable to me that you have so few subscribers. I have a question about your solder. You can just easily go over the solder pads with the solder. When I do this on mine, all the solder pads on the board always connect. Is it because I'm using soldering paste instead of flux, or is it the solder? I use lead free. I would be very happy about an answer. Greetings from Germany
Pls help, i want to ask a simple question, does it possible to RAM didn't work well and have connection problems because flux on sockets?? Thanks from advance...
i have ps4 to change the HDMI port do i need a specifix HDMI replacement or any and if what the the number or the name for it please like the old one is 541CH the new one is 13JAH
Seeing consoles/laptops/desktop PC’s etc with large amounts of dust buildup kind of annoys me. It makes me question sometimes what sort of environment they have these things in. And if they even notice it at times.
First
Haha nice
The little jokes and songs you make up are soooooo funny and as I keeps saying the information/how-to just keep me coming back, amazing video as always.
Japanese consoles have O as enter/accept instead of X. Its a cultural thing.
Did they add this in , i know they changed the buttons on the PS5 Controllers in Japan. lol.
Yeah a few people mentioned that. Seems Aony added it in to the options
your fixes always impress me, you are the best in fixing consoles!

If you hadn't decided to become an Electronics Repair Technician, you should have been a stand-up Comic! Great repair as always.

Thanks mate. I definitely recommend taking up micro soldering as a hobby. It's super rewarding when you get them working again

I kind of wish I was British so it’d be normal for me to say “mate” and other fun words.
An excellent video, as always!
Haha thanks mate 🤣
That console went all Solid Snake CQC on you with the X/O button switching ;) You find that layout in a lot games by Konami and Capcom, though.
some regions have Circle for Enter , i think Japanese models do that but don't quote me on this. i just know they by default had circle for enter and X for back , they later put in the option to revert that if people wanted.
great job well done bud.
Hello mate,
How can I kick start the pfc circuit of a ps4 original power supply, out of the unit? I'm not sure about which two pins to jump. My power supply puts out 4.7 volts, but the 12 volt doesn't start.
I couldn't wait, so I had to hit the subscribe button. :)

I didn't know you could change the button configuration. Years I've been dealing with ps4 consoles, and did not know that existed.
good job.i have a ps4 slim I get beep blue light 1sec and off power supply is good you think the apu is dead.
These shorter videos are golden.
the reason why the button is O = X and so on is because the console is from japan. As when I bought a ps3 it was imported from japan and i was confused as well, luckily when you insert and EU disc in and play a game it will automatically configure to default settings.
I think the o swap with x buttons is because of the japanese customers being used to using the o button as the enter button.
Yep running chips hotter reduces lifespan. Sometimes considerably.

Yeah that's a good point. I never thought about voerclocking as an example for the video

Hi TheCod3r,
FYI the 4th HDMI twisted pair is used for a clock signal if I recall correctly
Yeah that sounds right mate, I know enough about it to make me "seem" smart, just never remember the specifics 😁🤣
Need to come see you i've 2 needing hdmi ports wifes went today

Firmware 6.50 added the option to switch X and O for the enter button
Wow that early? I've never noticed it, shows how much I pay attention 🤣

I've saved you website with all your details so if and when I need a real technician to fix anything I will have you on speed dial
Thanks mate, much appreciated 😁
You can choose the function of O and X in the settings menu. There's nothing wrong with the controller. Lol.
Haha yeah I've never noticed that feature. I'm an xbox fanboy myself though lol 😆
Thing
Think it’s a Japanese console for d circle to be confirm and x to be back…that how it is in japan
In this case it was actually the customer setting it manually in the options lol
LoL may be the console was meant to be sold in Asia!? I had my PSP bought in Japan and it had the same thing regading X and O.
A wonky donky port wtf.
How much is a ps4 console
I don't have any for sale mate, the ones I repair are usually customer devices
I like to meet u

See mate, right when you started singing things got weird 😅
Haha yep, I really need to stop that 🤣
Seeing consoles/laptops/desktop PC’s etc with large amounts of dust buildup kind of annoys me. It makes me question sometimes what sort of environment they have these things in. And if they even notice it at times.
Also, may i suggest having “shut up multimeter” as a potential future merch idea?? If doing merch is your sort of thing.
Nintendo users first playstation lol.
don't give sony ideas of marrying the motherboard to the case 🤣🤣🤣
Haha yeah you've got a good point there 😉 🤣
I subscribed ages ago hopefully a like will be ok :)
Lol, I liked that one. Sub or I'm not doing it.
