If you’re building a superstar team, Cale Makar is clearly the #1 D that you want. You could definitely make a case for Fox, but no one else comes close to them.

Q. Hughes is the only one in Makar's tier. Just watch Q. Hughes highlights and Makar's. There's no other d-men who can do what these 2 can do on a consistent basis.

@@mcj44 Fox wasn't that much better than Hughes even 6 months ago. I could definitely agree with Makar being way better than Hughes and Fox 6 months ago.
Not sure why the original commenter thought Fox was that closed to Makar even 6 months ago.
Hughes, in the past, was absurdly ranked like as a 3rd tier d-man by Eastern media as the east doesn't really pay much attention to western players (due to later games) unless said western players are above and beyond their peers (like Makar or McDavid).
