The Hockey PDOcast Episode: Mat Barzal, and Turning Talent into Points
Fun fact: MacKinnon didn’t have his first ppg season until his 5th year in the league. Makes me think Alexis Lafreniere is about to put this whole league on notice soon..
I wonder how many points Greatsky would have made if he was "handled" like Forsberg?
Dudes insane!!!!!
If Kuch had Hyman and Draisaitl type goal scorers he’d be higher then 100 with all those chances he gives his teammates that keep missing open shots
Perfect player
0:53 "Scariest force there is on the planet" Barkov: Cool, anyway, let's go score a goal now
I love how most of the goals are barzal and bo. Dangerous duo next year
Not the most flashy person usually (sometimes he is) but if you know hockey you can really follow how good his plays are. Insane player.
2:52 😮😮😮
3 of the best opponent forward and barkov alone and he won :DD
Poetry in motion
That power and timing in his stick lifts. Holy fking shit. Immediately at 0:10 McClown looks like a kid
The difference between Barkov and McDavid is that when Connor was pointless in games 6&7 he was completely useless. While when Barkov is pointless, he is the best defensive player.
There's no need to try to diminish the greatness of mighty 97. He didn't score in games 6&7, but was still one of the best players (if not the best) on ice. That said, back to topic: We might as well rename Selke to Barkov 😂...
You are the best Dimitri - thank you for a hell of a season!!!
Very good content, thank you, keep going
What doesn't he do? Blocks shots, cuts off passes, makes breakouts look easy, elite at retrieving the puck from opposition, elite hands, playmaking, vision, has a good shot as well but doesn't use it that much. That's a true captain and one of the best players in the world. At both ends of the ice.
THE best not one of the. Hes most complete player in the business
Wow
Rangers will have big decisions to make. Panarin and Zibby aren't playoffs players. Laffy proved he is.
make a bedard mix
He's so damn creative. That move he tries at 3:50 is nuts, throwing the puck from behind the net and moves in front to bat it in on volley while surrounded by opponents.
This dude coulda had 200 assists
His ability to find an open man is actually insane
i love this channel, best comps ever, please continue with those next season!
Monster
Nemec fucks
Could watch this guy's defensive highlights for hours. Absolute wizzard.
Man he is so much fun to watch!
He is big, he is strong, he is skillful, he is fast, he is intelligent and before game he rigs all pucks with magnets and uses magnetic tape on his stick.
The smooth criminal.. and the best overall player.
Must be slightly annoying opponent being everywhere at the same time.
Yeah. Draisaitl's 0 points might have weight a little on that jump.
This doubles as a Shesterkin highlight video lmao
Barkov is so smooth. It seems he is NOT ever in a hurry. Somehow Barkov's second is 1,5 seconds to others. So calm, no hurry.
Who is Sasha gona wake up tonite, awesome
Smoothest player ever a true beauty
He is so good.
Reminds me of prime Niklas Hjalmarsson with similar (and better) skating style 😂 Gus has better offensive skills too. As a Hawks fan its a shame they didn't have the patience to let him grow to be the player he is nowadays.
I'd say he's a light version of Nick Lidstrom, and as Lidstrom he'll age and get better as a fine wine!
He's so calm and steps ahead of every play
Take a good long look Oilers. This guy is waiting for you.
😂
@@Markymark-gg6qf keep it up.
@@Markymark-gg6qf done got phucking blanked by Barkov didn't ya, even after taking a cheap shot at him
@@schustererik83 say that again?
@Markymark-gg6qf in none broken language: looks like Barkov has your number, since your about to get swept outta the finals by him and the panthers
2:29 that's gotta be the best skate pass I've seen.
I LOVE this video. There are many flashy, highly skilled NHL players. God bless 'em. But NOBODY has made back-checking & fore-checking as fun & interesting to watch as Barkov. After the Leafs beat the Panthers 6-4 (on 4/1/24), Elliotte Friedman argued Auston Matthews (a great player) had proven that he was a better, more valuable, all-around player than Barkov - an opinion that enraged me because it's NOT true. (Barkov plays the PK and PP; Matthews only plays the PP.) Barkov is THE man. (I also love Forsling's game, and complained bitterly when the Blackhawks retained Eric Gustofson instead of Gus.)
Barkov's game sense is insane
Sheesh what a clinic by Sasha.
can’t wait to see him barkov reinhart etc lock up oilers
Thanks for these comps, awesome stuff!
Gus is so good
The FOCE is with Gustav FORCEling
Superstar
Ye
You stops and turns, passes to wide open Hronek. He shots wide. Consistently what Hronek did and he wants a Hughes like salary.
It’s rare to see people who understand Barkov’s genius, but you guys absolutely nailed it
At 3:40 I’ve seen someone else do that move… His name is Allen Iverson… breaking ankles, but in the NBA HUGHES is an amazing skater and all around player probably my favorite C in the NHL
