I saw Archspire a few months ago. Simply amazing, didn't know whether to join the Wall of Death that Twister always dictates or if to stand in sheer awe of the other wordly technicality of all musicians involved. Then the following week i experienced the ancestral reunification that is known as Heilung
Considering the sheer speed and complexity of their compositions, ARCHSPIRE are (relatively) the tightest live act on planet Earth. Sick rendition of ‘Golden Mouth Of Ruin’ @ 22:44. They crushed in Melbourne also! Supremely cool Canadians and otherworldly gifted musicians. Edit : Ollie’s sagging ball sack is like “going through a backpack on acid : it’s a never ending series of folds.” 😂
He actually said in the studio they wanted to chop his vocals to get a machine gun effect but he’s into rap so he already knew about that “rap breathing” tech they use for tight rapping with high attack, so he just suggested trying to do it with the harsh vocals and then the vocals came out sick AF

As I've said before, these guys deserve ALL of the awards. Country, Christian, and Light Rock awards included. The gravity of talent is so immense that those other genres don't really matter anymore, so to the victor go the spoils.... And yes, I'm kidding about that last sentence. Every Genre Matters.

nah I like that they don't take themselves too seriously. the music/band is serious - joking around a bit in live shows is whatever. the genre's oversatured with over the top serious shit, it gets exhausting and old quick.

This kind of music would make classical composers proud of the foundation they laid.
Archspire is a talented band, but they don't really scratch the surface of what many classical composers/musicians have achieved
If nothing else, I think they'd be able to not freak out about the heavy vocals in metal and see it as part of the composition.
How Archspire pulls this off live, night after night, is beyond me. Great stuff.
