@f.b.jeffers0n first fragment is good, don't get me wrong. But Archspire is on a whole other planet in terms of listenability and technicality. (In my opinion) Archspire has wayyyy more appealing riffs to listen to and are extremely technically proficient to boot. First Fragment is sort of technical and (again in my opinion) has less songs that I am willing to play over and over again past the first or second listen. I still jam every Archspire song I hear and I've been listening to them for almost a decade now.

Hell, he runs through slapping, popping, double slapping for speed, tapping, strumming, two finger and three finger speed picking, all in one riff. His technical mastery is VERY apparent. This dude has skills that he very obviously worked his ass off to master. Incredible musicianship, and this dude is an amazing bassist. Damn.

God damn how metal/death metal or just extreme metal music period has came a long way... This type of stuff is constantly jumping light years from what the old school cats improved upon. As for this dude i mean he's beyond a prototypical bassist, i know he's not the first nor will be the last of bassist like this but shit dude is sick.

I couldn't figure out who Dean was talking to through the video, i just kept imagining some random passerby with no knowledge of the band, trying to convince Dean that Jared was good while he just kept going with the "it's all just noise and practice" schtick. Knowing it's Dave makes it better. I hope he got Dean to see the light.
