Hello. One of my lancetilla mangos was attacked by squirrels through the net mesh. Caught it in time and picked it and let it ripen on the counter and it was very good! So much better then last year because it matured some. Kinda like a kent mango but sweeter. Some parts very sweet and unique. Going to put it in the ground and keep it now. Very big mangos! Now with good flavor. After the squirrel attack I went to the dollar store and bought some office wire mesh trash cans alitter bigger then the lancetillias and made a like bird cage around them. They are safe now and now more squirrels. This mango was getting a bad rap and Im happy I kept it now. I think next year will be even better! Dont give up on yours to soon. Ripening enough is the trick with alot of mangos.
It did not ripen evenly as it takes long time to ripen and it was super hot in Phoneix last year in July/August. I did not like the taste. It did not have much flavour. Not juicy and not much sweet. I have been grafting on it other good mangoes like Lemon Zest, Sugar Loaf, CAC, and Alampur Baneshan.
