The silver chair was always my favourite book of the series. It seems to me the most 'fantastic' of them all. I think lewis really gets into his stride of telling a fairy story without getting hung up on ideaology.
Just imagine... a series of The Chronicles of Narnia with the production values of Game of Thrones... Also, would love to see a well done 1 hour production of The Magicians Nephew, which it seems so many people forget about when they talk about Narnia.
Okay, I think I've watched almost all of the narnia vids you posted and wanted to finally say THANK YOU!!! I am a huge fan of the narnia series and I remember seeing this long ago. True, nothing beats our own imagination but it was cool to see the interpretation nonetheless. Plus, some parts were how I pictured them. Same with the new movie, some do and some don't. Thanks again!
This was my fav of the BBC reprises, although I was gutted they never did The Last Battle as that's my fav book. Really hoping that they'll make that into a film!
In the book when the queen screamed after the serpent stung her in the hand, Rilian went after it with his sword drawn, but it glided into thick bushes where he couldn’t come at it. The serpent also didn’t slither up a tree and vanish into thin air. Also right before the queen died, she tried desperately to tell Rilian something, but couldn’t speak clearly and she died before delivering it. That wasn’t here either but then it’s a BBC adaptation.
Ok, Because I have read The Chronicles of Narnia books, and I have never saw anything mentioning of a red witch. I know the books suggest that there are more witches in the north of Narnia like Jadis the White Witch, and the Lady of the Green Kirtle, but that was all that the books said.
One thing I like about this series is that it has better nymphs than the CGI nymphs of the recent films. True, they may just be actresses in simple greek/roman outfits and a headband of flowers or leaves, but they're better than flimsy flower petal dryads or liquid mermaid-like naiads.....>_< lol
It may not be accurate to say so. I think you get that information from the introduction of the book. However, that was not written by CS Lewis so it is very doubtful to say that.
Technically, no. However, since there's the White Witch, and for all intents and purposes the Green Lady is the Green Witch, there could have been a red one if Lewis felt like it.
*...this is the only film of The Chronicles of Narnia (BBC) that I liked, but I still prefer the new ones, by the way, I don't think that Jadis and The Green Lady are the same person, Lewis never said tha... anyway, I think Jadis is the best!! I don't know why but I think that she is the best villain in the series... *
In the book Caspian seized a battle axe to kill Drinian, when he told the king that Rilian had disappeared after seeing a beautiful lady in the glade, but Drinian didn’t say anything for the prince’s sake.
I have to disagree. I didn't care for Tilda's portrayal even though she is a good actress. Jadis is described in the books as commanding and imperial. Think a female Christopher Lee. Tilda's portrayal is just some creepy mothery type who screams a lot when she doesn't get her way. She has none of the menace I always perceived in Jadis fromLewis' description. That's why I hope if Waldon Media ever does the Silver Chair they don't bring Tilda back as the Green Lady.
1:43 so scary! And Rilian is so hot! Its a shame that Disney still has not made its remake. Wondered who would play Rilian and how he would look like. Maybe some black metal musician? Dead or Euronymous would be perfect but they are both dead. Varg would be good too but he is old and fat now. And wonder how old Rilian is, must be about 30. I was like wtf when I read hes been missing for 10 years

and the best mystery you got to admitt C.s Lewis really knew how to make his novels more mysteriois.
Mine too, the darkest and most satanic one as they were all literally in hell

BBC definatly stepped up in quality with SC. My favorite of the episodes.

The BBC couldn't afford to also adapt The Last Battle for television.
I still wish for that too. But Disney is so lazy that its impossible to believe
Just realised, the owl is played by the same actor who played Reepycheep the mouse!

He was brilliant in both of these roles.
I thought so! He is so everywhere, he my favorite all-time actor.
No kidding! Warrick Davis?! Warrick Davis is also playing the Nikabrick the dwarf in the new Prince Caspian!
ROFL at the random hedgehog wadding by @ 6:33

OMFG! ahhhh this bring bac memories of when i was tiny!
*Warwick and also he was Reepacheep in the BBC's version of Prince Caspian and Voyage of Drawn Treader

The strange lady in green from the story about the disappearance of Rinian is really pretty

@ConnellxSilverfur I wonder what he was thinking: Not this again!
Technically, no. However, since there's the White Witch, and for all intents and purposes the Green Lady is the Green Witch, there could have been a red one if Lewis felt like it.
The queen looked like Eowyen from Lord of the Rings.
Mr. Glimfeather is played by Mike Edmonds.
No its not its Warwick Davis
Yes its Warwick Davis
It funny jill says to were we going he said Haha that not place aha

@HeathenMaiden Thanks!
4:35 - 9:35 Mike Edmonds is a good narrator.
the green serpents so small and puny. and pole screams to much.
Needs more Ood
In the book Caspian seized a battle axe to kill Drinian, when he told the king that Rilian had disappeared after seeing a beautiful lady in the glade, but Drinian didn’t say anything for the prince’s sake.
She's played by the same actress too
No the girl that played jill was not new film prince Caspian
The actor who plays Rilian is handsome
Who plays young Rillian? He's gorgeous :)
elleonhighheels Richard Henders
Well, it did say "of the same crew" so presumably there was a crew of witches to be a part of.
1:13 Like something out of Knightmare.
Now that’s a show that with today’s Technology I am surprised they didn’t bring back
@Xothian I think if jadis and lady green are the same is more interesting
his mother is much prettier than the Green Lady
Though GoT comes in at a hefty $6mil per episode :P
Wow!
The thing I don't like about these BBC broadcasts is how the witch comes off as outright repulsive right away.
I have to disagree. I didn't care for Tilda's portrayal even though she is a good actress. Jadis is described in the books as commanding and imperial. Think a female Christopher Lee. I prefer the old ones, except Prince Caspian - new one was better.
It's obvious if you read the book also.
Thre's a RED witch?!?!?! O_O;
shes not so "fair"HAH! she looks around late 30 to early 40!
1:43 so scary! And Rilian is so hot! Its a shame that Disney still has not made its remake. Wondered who would play Rilian and how he would look like. Maybe some black metal musician? Its so dark!

Pole is so much more whiney in the movie than in the book
I noticed by the really obnoxious way she talks.
but technology cant hide bad acting...just saying
7:46/9:59 Rillian campian should have shot that woman with a bow and arrow.
Some of the world's most posionous things are small + puny. And you can't spell.
