    Thank you for posting! I have an rsx and there aren’t any instructions. I went a whole week bleeding my clutch line trying to figure out why the cmc I installed is not functioning the way I know it should. In my struggles I did notice the pole and depth or the part that goes through the firewall is longer. Maybe I missed it but I wish the hybrid racing site would have instructions for the rsx stating this or at least refer us to the civic install to see the part about changing the poles. I have done this twice before with oem rsx then an oem civic cmc and it took a couple hours. This took me over a week to figure out.

    Did you get curious enough to compare the clutch rod oem vs aftermarket lengths to see if there was a difference?

    • @hondaresource
      @hondaresource  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The em1 rod is longer, that's why you have to install the 8th gen rod on the new cmc

    So alot of videos are saying after you install hybrid cmc, to use old OEM rod, and adjust the rod to show 5 threads. But mine seems to be slipping. Also read somewhere that people kept the threads at about 2-3 only to drive good. What is the proper threads that needs to be showing?

    Just got my 09 Si and i know i figured its going to need a clutch soon. i have a slight creaking from my clutch pedal. i dont know how to describe it as this is only my second manual car. but coming from bikes the engagement just feels off. should i start here?

    hey could you possible share how you have the clutch rod adjusted? how far in/out you have the cruise control switch and the pushrod?

    • @hondaresource
      @hondaresource  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you reuse the original push rod?

    • @FG2Zim
      @FG2Zim 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@hondaresource yes original push rod, clevis and locknut for the pushrod. only reason i’m asking is because i’ve watched two videos on youtube explaining how to adjust an em1 cmc in an 8th gen, both say i need about 5-6 threads showing on the cruise control switch, but when i go to try this on my car, i have disengagement issues. mine only seems to be fully disengaged at about 1-3 threads. but those video’s also explain how anything less than 5-6 threads is putting my clutch into a overstroke condition. it’s either i overstroke for proper disengagement, or crunch my synchros to eliminate the overstroke. i’m a little thrown around by the information i’m seeing, and what is reality. just need a third opinion on the adjustment.

    • @hondaresource

    • @FG2Zim
      @FG2Zim 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MiguelGarcia-cq3il yeah.everyone saying 5-6 threads just didnt work in my case. daily driiving 5 threads were fine but banging gears/flat foot shifting it wouldnt work at all. im siiting at 3 threads, slightly longer clutch pedal travel, but it ensures your clutch is actually disengaging. at 3 threads i can bang gears and flat foot shift. try this lemme know how it works.

    i have the ktuned cmc, and it failed. going to buy the oem cmc and adjust the pedal so it’ll engage better, is the hybrid one better than OEM fa5.

    • @hondaresource

    Does this fix the notorious 3rd gear pop out that some 8th gen civics come with?

    • @hondaresource
      @hondaresource  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is more of a fix for grinding going into gear or locking out from going in gear

    • @adu146
      @adu146 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      nope. only way to fix that is to replace your old defective 3rd gear set with the new, revised 3rd gear set. Might as well get a clutch job done too. I'm having this done on my 08 FG2 as I type. FYI: it's a $4k job at AAMCO.
      Only reason you would buy a hybrid racing cmc is so you dont grind 2nd shifting from 1st @ 7k+ RPM. You could accomplish the same thing by removing the delay valve in your OEM cmc if you wanted.

      Stock slave, yes. You may be able to reuse the stock line if you bend it a little different. The connection to the Master cylinder is at a different angle
