Is a great update, i wish you can search for stages too and also stage categories because there are game modes, boss stages as stages a category option would be helpful
Something they should add is when you have the workshop character that’s the same character you have (for example having 3 Kirby’s) searching them and click on them to select (or simply hover your mouse on them) to show who made the character
Finally instead pressing a bunch of buttons in the intro of a fight, we can change moves in the select screen! Toon link still doesnt have that luxury though...
As far as I can tell there is no folder support, so if anything, that would be the biggest thing we could use. Just want to separate my memes from legit and just simple fun characters as well. For those people who are clearly still downloading SSL types, because people still keep making them, it probably would benefit them too
That's been a thing for a bit, actually. Under Extras > Steam Workshop, you can set categories for your characters! They aren't perfect as you can't close folders, but they're a nice addition nonetheless.
@@Zetta330 Ah. I guess it's nice but I guess it would be nice to see it expanded upon and well, made a lot more clear that it exists. Maybe something to change it mid character select would make it just more easy to acknowledge
The stage is called Derby Cruise. I think it's still not publicly released though, unfortunately. It was a stage made for use in the third Dev Derby tournament, and should be out soon.
I need someone to make an Infamous Clairen for workshop, Literally just the same character but with that one alt. Still Sadge and salty i missed out on it
Is the search kind of buggy for anyone else? I got stuck with only being able to select Bomberman at one point. (and it showed 2B but when I selected her it was Bomberman)
everything here is great... but it could be better -some guy, first off searching fighters is good but its hard for you to search for the cpu. it gets the job done but you dont see it. you only see that you cant reach the character below and when you select something like kibble you get kirby because thats what you were searching for also it sometimes is blank and crashes when you select something... if its blank you gotta restart. ok now the mayjor stuff. we also need the searching for stages and buddies. being me I have more then like 90 percent of the workshop added so i do need searching for the other stuff i have. and finally this update broke some effects of characters using the X and the b box. i dont know how yours work but that portal samurai had an x floating in the portal instead of a shine and so does some other characters. thats all the stuff i request from rivals devs.
To search for the CPU just switch to their slot using the arrow button when the slot is empty, search choose then switch back and add them in as a CPU, the same way as you choose their colours. It’s a bit clunky but it should work.
With the name thing, imagine if Undertale and deltarune character instantly died and sent you to the character select screen if you used the name GASTER. (Ofc this wouldn't apply to online matches)
I have an idea for the *TRAITOR CHARACTER FROM PERSONA 5* (Spoilers) So my idea would be that they could swap between their fake persona and true persona which would change sprites and sounds because he acts super formal when he's disguised
I love this patch simply because I do not know how to use it
Being able to swap movesets and customize palettes at the character select screen is a novel idea and I'm glad that's a thing now!
Another thing they added is custom font support, which is also very helpful! :)

search on the stage selection is a pretty good request actually. Searching for stages is more painful than characters.
Also having it bound to keyboard is annoying since 99.999999% of players use controllers
