I was born and raised in Dallas. I’ve actually made several videos of some of the places you visited. The John Wayne experience is owned by his family and is worth a visit. Roy Rodger’s taxidermy horse, “Trigger” is in the lobby. Klyde Warren Park is pretty fascinating and is built over a freeway. I explored Texas Live in a video as well. I share the same sentiment as you. It’s more of a night club district with AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboys) and Globe Life Field (Texas Rangers) on either end. Back in the 90’s I performed in Deep Ellum at one of the clubs there. The birthplace of the frozen margarita is hotly debated. La Hacienda Ranch also makes that claim and has their vintage machines on display as well.
Another great video, Robert! My favorite Tex-Mex restaurant is Herrera's in Oak Cliff. Used to visit Dallas regularly on business trips and I had to eat there at least once each trip.

Actually, as a young child, we drove from my home state at the time from California to Illinois, driving through parts of Texas. I was so young at the time I don't even remember much about it. You REALLY should have visited Pappadeaux!!!! OMG< some of the best food I ever ate!!! My son lives in that area and took us there when we visited a couple years ago, and hope to get back there again this April. Also, I fully intend to visit the BBQ place you went to...that brisket looks=ed so yummy!!!

Robert, glade you went through Lubbock. Did you get to see where Buddy Holly came from? Also just north of Lubbock is area know for growing wine grapes. Much of Texas wine comes from the grapes grown in the Panhandle.
@@TravelingRobert sometimes that’s all you can do. I lived in Dallas area for 18 years and there’s a lot to see and do. One of the things I loved there were all the many different cuisines to choose from when deciding on a restaurant. There’s India Indian, Vietnamese, South America, etc. Not as many good Mexican restaurants in the DFW area as out here in West part of Texas. Ever come to Odessa I’ll take you and your wife out to dinner. Have gotten good places out here in the last 10 years
I watch youtube all the time and your rv travels comes up all the time. Thank for taking us along your adventure. Go to San Antonio and do the riverwalk. Find the Texas Bushman there and give your wife a little surprise ;-)
Had the rare opportunity to make my husband sit down and watch a vid of urs before the Stoopid Bowl. ( Sorry I hate sports ) LOl and he said "Is Mr. Robert going to be able to find him an IPO? LOL I think that's a wallstreet thing LOL so in between laughing snorts I said it's an I P A! lol then I told him you have a shirt with that written on it. Years ago when I was sick and homebound ( Not true now thank the Lord ) he got to go to Dallas on a gvt. worker trip! He loved it. He was screaming oh I was there! I was there too. Texas live is cool. There’s the baseball stadium right there which I’m sure you saw, and after games it’s packed! I’ve never eaten at a couple places you’ve visited in Dallas so I’ll check them out next time I’m there

All those trophy heads on the wall at 7:55 remind me of Fosters Bighorn in Rio Vista CA--worth a stop if you're ever in the area. That giant eyeball is really something to see (pun intended). Have a safe trip home!
My daughter lives over near Houston I want to visit Dallas someday. She says it's a pretty long drive from there but I don't mind. I especially would love to see that JFK museum.

I visited the Kenedy Memorial in the late 1970's. Stark concrete surrounding walls left me with the impression "At least it's bullet-proof".
