1 cup Hydronperoxide , 2 tablespoon Baking spoon, 1 tablespoon..... Dawn dish soap. Blot around the stain....sit 30 minutes...........reapply the solution next day.. if there is a ring, take another cloth.
As a professional carpet, rug, upholstery cleaner I use Hydrogen Peroxide 3% + Vanish Oxi Action Pro + a little water [ apply one on top of the other, DON'T mix in together in a bowl]. Brilliant on stains and also red wine and blood. I also use a wallpaper steamer, they're cheap to buy and very useful on stains and upholstery. You can use this method on your clothes as well. Excellent video BTW.
How do I clean the wet mattress it's pretty soaked it's n spare room and I didn't notice he been peeing on it till I started spring cleaning. I do have water proof mattress pad for mattress but can't use til it cleaned & dried . (Ty FOR THE REPLIES
Have another recipe to share, it's to clean any spots on sofas, baby car seat, etc.: 120 ml of white vinegar, 60 ml of lemon juice (the real one), 240 ml of sparkling water, 120 ml of dishwashing detergent (blue Dawn is perfect), 1 small spray bottle. Mix well all the ingredients and spray directly on the spot that you need to remove, use a hard brush to remove the spot and a microfiber cloth to finish the cleaning. This can also be used to remove stains on a mattress.
I’m hoping this works! My sectional has taken a beating so i just did the first test cushion. If it works I’m doing the entire couch! I was just looking at a new sectional because I’m tired of the stains!
I have the "Neat" steamer from Amazon... Comes with all the attachments and is super convenient with a huge water tank... I have replaced my mop... Time saver...
You need a steam extractor for the mattress. There is dried urine soaked into the fibers of the mattress and surface cleaning the cover doesn't take care of the deeper issues trapped inside the mattress filler. Its better to place a waterproof sheet down over the mattress on day one, pile on as many machine washable absorbent layers ( mattress pads etc) that you want between the waterproof layer and the bedsheet to soak up the night time accidents and then toss the washable linens in the machine in the morning. Works for incontinent adults too. Prevention or extraction.
Tried this on an old puppy pee stain on a white ottoman that I had basically given up on. This totally worked! Wish I had taken pictures. Thank you so much for sharing!
I bought the same set from Ashley Furniture!!!!...I changed the pillow cover on the green pillows to a linen beige with wooden buttons...looks like it was original to the sofa...thank you for doing this video
The toughest stain that I have ever had is oil from skin! My husband has very oily skin and it stains everyhthing yellow (pillowcases, sheets, shirts etc) and it smells!!! I tried everything (bleach, peroxide, baking powder/soda, vinegar, amonia, Dawn, salt, Tide, Oxiclean, bluing, borax, boiling water, alcohol, WD40 ETC ETC!!!) You name it, nothing worked. I was throwing things away because I couldn'r get it out. We use TWO Mattress toppers (one with plastic!) and 2 base sheets and it still made its way to the mattress! I saw America's Test Kitchen experiment with cleaners and they had success with OXICLEAN but the KEY is letting it soak for 6 HOURS. I tried it, expecting another FAIL but BAM!!! Stains came OUT!!!!!! Not 100% but like 90%!!! (need another treatment) and the SMELL is out! I am so excited about this! I had lost hope! I was ANGRY!!! I just want others with this issue to know and give it a try! (I am washing everything I can find! :)
Hi C J, My late husband was the same way. Thirty years ago we had moved back in with his parents, and my mother-in-law caught me cussing in front of the washing machine and asked what was wrong. I told her your son has staining sweat and I can't get it out, even my night gown where we sleep back to back has his stains on it. That's when I found out he got that from his Dad. And to use either a half cup to a quarter cup of each, in every load: baking soda, washing soda, and Borax, and the OxiClean, with the minimum amount of laundry detergent for the load size, then use distilled white vinegar in the rinse cycle, and do an extra rinse. Too much detergent doesn't fully rinse out and it attracts dirt to it, making the problem worse. Put all of the cleaners and detergent in first as the water is filling, let the machine agitate for a minute to stir it up, stop it, then put the laundry in the washer. Restart the washer back to the beginning as soon as it's almost to the end of the wash cycle before it drains, use the heavy duty cycle, and extra rinse. You can also turn off the washer to let the load soak for an hour. Once you get everything clean it's easier to keep it that way. You might need to use a half cup of bleach in the whites as well. Hanging the laundry out on a clothesline lets the sun disinfect, and bleach the stains out too. Like to get a mustard stain out you just leave the item out in direct sunlight for a couple hours, stains gone. I also bought my husband a back brush, changed his shampoo, conditioner, and soap for a month, trying to break the cycle of whatever was wrong with him. And made him drink more water and Gatorade at work. Gatorade stopped the salt rings under his arms on his work shirts. Filling up bottles of water to put in his lunch cooler helped too. Drinking more water helped with the stains too. I used a few 20 ounce soda bottles for the water, and froze them overnight, kept his lunch cold in the car too, and gave him cold water to drink. Only used one frozen two liter bottle as just ice, but if he wanted more water it was there. It took a while but I got him to quit making the stains, and got the stains out of everything. A few years ago he has a white tee shirt covered in grease... it looked like he had wiped off the lawnmower with the shirt after he'd lubed it up. The shirt was ruined. So I did an experiment on it before I threw it out, that worked. I used a spray bottle I got at the Dollar Tree Store, filled it with half water, half bleach. Hung the shirt up in the shower and sprayed the stains. Waited 15 minutes, and then rinsed it well, then used a bucket and my regular laundry mixture, soaked it for an hour, then rinsed it until the water came clean. He wore that shirt for another 5 years. It took him awhile to realize that was the grease shirt, he couldn't believe I got it clean. We only had 33 years together before he died suddenly. I'd give anything to have him back. I'd never complain about his stains again. So even though your husband stains everything, love him like there's no tomorrow. You never know when the last time will be “the last time”. Hope this helps. From some random old widow in Florida. Take care, stay safe, have a nice day. 👵☺️✌️☮️🖖 😷 🙉🙈🙊 🎄🎅🤶🦌⛄❄️🌟

Greetings: I also have an Ashley gray fabric couch, I only have had it little over a month. I have a stain from Mexican corn I purchased. I have blotted it and pre-treated 3 times, the stain is still there. After the couch arrived I treated it with Scotchguard. Is that why the stain is still here? When you do your videos can you put a disclaimer not good for colored couches?
Hi Andrea, i followed your method to remove water stain from my couch however now I have a white color ring stain after it drys. I don’t think it’s because other past of the couch is dirty. Suggestions on how to remove the stain causing by the solution?
Good video! I will be doing this in the morning so I have most all day to attend to it..Have you done any videos using Dawn Powerwash? It is amazing...I use it if I have extra grease (more than normal) and also if I have something that soaking isn't helping out with...great product!
Just buy a plastic mattress cover it will prevent these Stains but the peroxide fades the stain like it removes blood stains I don’t like to do things like this to mattress cause the water is getting down in to the fiber u can’t see and leaves a moisture and it takes days to dry unless it is summer and then it will dry quicker
My husband has Alzheimer’s and, you’re so right, accidents do happen even with all the protection you try. We have a Temperpedic mattress with a lot of foam layers. What do you recommend if the mattress does not dry before bedtime?
After cleaning, buy a waterproof mattress pad. It is worth it ! If you can, even buy two, so you can wash and dry them in the washer/dryer and they protect your expensive tempurpedic mattress!
Hi, Patricia. I realize that the timing of these situations can be so unpredictable. here’s a suggestion, if you do not happen to have an extra bed, or, if your husband wouldn’t feel comfortable sleeping in a different bed......I know that routine and familiar surroundings are key for people with Alzheimers. A possible solution: after blotting dry as much as you can, this would be a great time to sprinkle a GENEROUS amount, of baking soda, on top. Next, cover with something waterproof, and then, add your bedding as usual, you can now use it for the night. In the morning, scoop up as much of the baking soda as possible and cover with more baking soda. Let it dry completely, remove and vacuum thoroughly, repeat if necessary. By putting the baking soda onto the damp spot as soon as possible, it not only helps it to dry, but also pulls a lot of the “yuckiness,” out. This might sound pretty complicated, with my long description, but it isn’t really; and it’s worth it! Let me know how it works. I wish you good, good luck and many blessings, with your husband and your situation. I know this is a very difficult time. Carry-on and keep the faith. 🙏🏼
Put your husband on a mostly organic veggie diet. Plus 4 oz. of meat 3X’s a week. No sugar! Helps so much with Alzheimer’s. Stay away from process foods!
Will this work on a dark fabric couch? I tried a spot carpet cleaner and it pulled dirt but then made the couch crusty idk if it was the cleaning solution or what
I want to use this on my couches, but I'm worried about the peroxide bleaching my couch :( I have light brown couches. Have you tried on couches that aren't white? Or is this just for light colored furniture? Thanks 😊
Dont take only my word but I have a brown couch and my dog hasn't been able to control his bladder, I've been dumping vinegar baking soda and hydrogen peroxide on it then vacuuming after letting it sit and it hasn't stained. Not sure if it matters what % peroxide, mine were usually old hair dye ones, ran out going to have to get that little brown bottle next.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a grey sofa as well, and I am going to try this to see if it cleans it up and makes it smell better, but curious how you did the whole cushion. Just the same way, but covering the whole thing?
My son puked all over the couch and now it’s stained and still has kind of a smell I got dishsoap with hydrogen peroxide and scrubbed it and then I put baking soda on top on it and let the baking soda sit for 12 hours and vacuumed it up and it still had a dark stain

Use puppy pads on top of the matress but Under the sheets. Totally absorbs the mess and helps easy clean up. And the matress stays dry!

You should try washing soda it works so much better on soft surfaces and carpets it made by arm and hammer
You just blotted it and let it dry?!?! That's amazing! No scrubbing or rinsing?!

Thanks for sharing this. I followed this. Unfortunately, this still leaves a water ring on my couch 😔 any advice?
Repeat until the stain is removed from all areas 👍
@@AndreaJean thanks. I meant to say that it removes the stain, but leaves a water ring.
My problem too - the original stain is gone but there is now a (bigger) water ring!
So you don't have to rinse the solution afterwards? Isn't there a soapy residue?
My husband has Alzheimer’s and, you’re so right, accidents do happen even with all the protection you try.

Would it have been better to do the couch first so urine would not be teansferred to the sofa?
I have baking soda but it’s expired ..but idk if it matters for this
I use the peroxide in spring after working in thevgarden, the peroxide bleaches out the dirt stains !
Did the peroxide bleach the fabric? I know it bleaches and lightens things as well.
This does work but do not use on colored furniture, peroxide acts like a bleach
Figured out today that toothpaste n alcohol 91 % cleaned the grout in my bathroom ..👍 I've just rented this place.✌

Awesome!
Hey is it ok if I use a fairy dish soap instead of dawn pls reply back fast
