We show you we took a mattress with pee, removed the stains AND urine smell out with just 3 ingredients that are cheap and that you probably have around the house.
This pee mattress went from GROSS to WOW!! See the tips that made it easier and get all of the steps in our video.
INGREDIENTS
8 ounces of hydrogen peroxide
3 Tablespoons of baking soda
1 drop of liquid dishwashing soap (like Dawn)
OPTIONAL: 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil
Mix the solution together and pour into a heavy duty spray bottle like these homedepot.sjv.io/RNNj2. Cheap ones get clogged easier and will leak if you leave this solution in them for too long. Remove the stopper at the end of the tube if there is one. This helps prevent it from getting blocked.
Note: It’s easier to mix before adding but if you have clumps, that’s ok. Spray on all pee spots. Don’t forget to spray the sides or top too!
Let the mattress dry. Vacuum or sweep off the residue.
With one treatment we were able to get the urine out of the mattress. The urine smell is gone too.

Achok Dut Use a brush and wash it with boiled water mixed with detergent and put the mattress outside for a while and let the sun hit it until I dries, that will also help you with the smell.

A helpful tip - I clogged up two spray bottles before I figured out that if I strain the liquid first, it leaves a baking soda paste at the bottom. Put ONLY the strained liquid into your spray bottle, then after you saturate the mattress with the strained liquid, use rubber gloves and rub the leftover baking soda paste into the mattress. Worked like a charm!

Thank you! This method works on a memory foam mattress. A few comments, I only added 1 TBsp of baking powder to the solution to prevent clogging the spray bottle. I added lavender oil to the solution :) Spray well beyond the stained area to blend with the surrounding fabric. Sprinkle a liberal amount of dry baking soda over the moistened area after spraying and smooth it over to make sure it absorbs as much of the wet stain as possible. Vacuum as described.

I can’t believe how well this worked! My cat peed on my mattress and it smelled soooo strong. And everyone knows cat pee smell is practically impossible to get rid of. Well it worked and the smell is entirely gone. I followed the instructions exactly except I only put the liquid in the spray bottle. I followed another commenter’s suggestion and rubbed the backing soda sludge on the mattress after I sprayed on all the liquid. It took about 48 hours for the mattress to dry. THANK YOU LADIES!! I’m headed out to buy a mattress cover now!
I know some of the reviews sound generic but let me tell you am a ordinary guy with a pitbull who I thought ruined my mattress until I watch this video. Not only did it make my mattress whiter on the portion I cleaned but it took the smell out to, this is 100% the real deal

For those of you who don't have an empty spray bottle and/or vacuum, just use paper towels (or real towels). Apply with a towel over the affected areas. Wipe with fresh towel. If you don't want to use a ton of the cleaning supplies after your initial wipe down, use water to help continue to lift the peepee! Since I don't have a vacuum, either, I have laid a bath towel over the area that was wet to soak up any remaining liquid. It is still slightly stained, and I am considering adding a vacuum to my repertoire of household cleaning weaponry. A spray bottle makes for a much lighter but thorough application that directly wetting is too messy for. BUT you don't have to buy any insane tools to get rid of peepee!
I also used these oils that I have for those wooden sticks you turn upside down every day or so to release a fragrance into the room as my "essential oil". Love it!
I dont have a vacuum either. 😞 but Im gonna try the baking soda and see if I get the pee odor out, because it is still there!
Try a dustbuster, they're cheaper than a vac, but the cordless vacs are lightweight and amazing and Temu has them for 40$.

Baking Soda is soluble in water at a rate of 10% by weight. For 8 oz water use 1.5 T baking soda and it will have little to no powder at the bottom of the bottle.

This absolutely worked on my son's freshly-urine-stained mattress. Thank you, ladies. I did heat up the peroxide a bit to get the powder to dissolve.

Ok, so this works perfectly! But I recommend that after you wash the mattress, you spread baking soda over the stain and leave overnight (8-10 hours). Then vacuum up the baking soda :)

Word of caution...test it first on small part first, I did this on a fairly new foam mattress, where I had a smallish stain, I now have a vibrant yellow larger stain. And yes, I followed the directions given.

Thank goodness this works! I was so worried the stain wouldn't come out of my mattress after my little cousin's diaper leaked on it. After a few minutes of spraying it on, the color was going away. Such a helpful and effective method 😁😀
The 3 percent peroxide was not enough, so I had to get 10% peroxide which is used for developer for hair color. It worked!!!! What’s also great is that my mattress is burgundy and it didn’t bleach out the color. Still looks brand new and now it smells like it too!

I tried this today I added direct scented unstoppables for scent and as is pillow top I used a scrub brush to work it in then did again with dreft laundry stain remover as I swear by it! Takes out car grease etc I also use it for small carpet stains. Even took out pen ink off my light couch few sprays and damp rag walla like magic I buy 5 bottles at a time online . Dreft laundry stain remover is my go to for anything fabric. Mattress almost dry and smells like baby room bliss!!

You wait until it is dry... And the drying time will depend on humidity level, type of material your mattress is made of, how much you saturated it...
WOW works great! I was putting peepads underneath the sheets when my nephew sleeps over but it drained through the pads a couple times and left some circles. Thanks best tip 👍👍
I use the bed pads that I find in the adult incontinence section in Walmart and Walgreens. The XL, 30x36", catch and hold a lot. Of the sleeper moves around a lot, place 2 pads overlapping a foot or more.
It worked like a miracle on my son's bed the stain and smell was gone with in 5 minutes from sitting and the room smells fresh and new I would recommend this method 100%.

I've just used this formula on a stained mattress and am delighted with the result. I couldn't get the spray bottle to work so I used a damp cloth and it still worked. I think the soda clogged the feeder tube in the bottle, but thank you for a very helpful and well put together video. It certainly helped me.

You can leave the mattress flat, it was standing up just for the demo. We were in a tight space too.
It took at least 10 hours for this mattress to completely dry. That said, we treated a large area and got it pretty saturated.
You can put a box fan on it to help speed up the drying. And don't dump on solution like we did. Instead, run the sprayer under warm water to unclog and be sure to mix up the solution as thoroughly as possible.
This mattress went to the dump after (it was already past it's prime), but we kept it and did several tests like this.
We took it apart to see how the inside looked and there was mold inside.
@@CleanFreakGermaphobe was the mold from the solution used when cleaning? Or was the mold just from the bed being old?

This absolutely works!!! No more stain or smell. HOWEVER.... the cleaning solution was unfortunately not color safe and it ended up lightning the color on my temperpedic mattress. I would recommend testing in an inconspicuous area before going to town on your mattress. I only used the generic 3% HP too, had no idea it would discolor my mattress.

I just tried this..worked great. Mattress was still damp when I returned home so I used my blow drier to quicken drying time. Also i learned to disposed of leftover cleaner. When i returned the spray bottle had expanded was looking to burst. When i opened top air pressure released. So i just pured out the unused mixture. Otherwise this was great.

What type of vacuum cleaner is it you’re using in these videos?
@Cease AndDesist wrong. I've done extensive tests and the stain doesn't go down more than the top inch. And I tested this on a mattress with a TON of pee that was old. I was amazed that I couldn't see ANY evidence of it far down on the pillow top. I literally tore it apart to see. While it's not going to be perfectly clean (dead skin cells, dust mites, etc) it's not like you imagine.
Helpful Tip: Use the peroxide spray bottle!!! The spray is broader and it never stopped spraying. I was able to cover the entire mattress. Can't wait to see what it looks like when it dries 😊

It depends on how wet you got it, how big of an area but it's going to take several hours. At least 4 most likely. You can put a fan on it or outside to speed up drying time though. If it's a smaller area, a hair dryer can help.
Hi Diane and Janet, thank you very much for posting this video. My 1 year old son had an accident this morning and wet his mattress. I attempted your method with the spray bottle and got clogged half way through the process and I didn't take off the filter at the end of the spray bottle (I didn't finish watching the full video before attempting the process). I just poured the remaining mixture onto the stained area. I believe the bed may have sagged. Do I just vacuum after the bed has air dried or is the mattress ruined?

I applied it separately and it also worked. Peroxide comes in a spray bottle, Dawn foaming dishsoap does as well. Then put powder on top.

Any vacuum should work. Either put the mattress flat on the ground and vacuum it like the floor. Or, use an attachment.

Also, if you have any sort of hand held shampooer, I leave this stuff on for a half an hour and then shampoo the bed. The solution for the shampooer smells awesome and it also helps get sweat and stuff like that out too. :)
Thank you for this vide!!! This was super helpful. I started having some slight issues with the spray bottle getting clogged so on my 2nd round of spraying I opted to use mostly peroxide for the spray bottle and rubbed the baking soda in and it worked out great.

Here is something that worked great for me getting cat pee off a mattress. there were about 6 good sized spots, (separation anxiety was the cause)
I put white vinegar and blue dawn in a spray bottle and soaked the spots. Then I sprinkled some baking soda to cover the spots too. I left it overnight. The next evening I used a deck brush which was about a foot wide by 4 inches deep and I scrubed the spots for about half an hour. I left it again overnight. Then the next evening I used my bissel carpet cleaner on the mattress with just vinegar water and I went over it for about an hour, took a break and went over it an hour again. I took as much water off the mattress with my shampooer as I could. I set up a large fan and let it go for about 4 hours. Then I let it air dry for two days. Tonight I will vaccumm the mattress and tomorrow put a waterproff cover on it so it never happens again. lol. A lot of work however, my matress looks brand new again! I hope this helps someone.

Looks easy. And clear, easy, advice; I'm no chemist! But... I've read that hydrogen peroxide may bleach fabrics. Shouln't the mix have some water in it too? Sorry to be so timid!
You want it to bleach out the yellow stains. It will lighten the fabric but that’s ok. Its better than pee stains. Every fabric is different but you will concert your mattress and won’t see it anyway. It isn’t like using it on something you’re going to wear…

It's a common question for sure. And for the mattress we worked on it took overnight. At least 8 hours.
You can speed that up with a fan, better ventilation or even a hair dryer. It will take some time though and you don't want mold. But the drying time depends on how wet the bed is and how large of an area you treated.

I would say common sense dictates that if you can use it on a mattress (which is fabric and padding), you can also use it on a couch (which is fabric and padding)....🤔
If it's a fabric couch, it should work. I'd test the solution on a part that won't be seen to make sure it doesn't discolor the fabric. Probably won't work on leather or suede though, not sure about microfiber.

i had blood, animal urine, ink stains, sweat stains, food stains. after doing this my bed literally looks BRAND NEW. i will probably do this every 6 months or so just to keep it fresh!! everyone should be doing this
i did my steps SEPARATELY.
i rubbed baking soda into my memory foam mattress, vacuumed it with a regular vac. used dish soap and water to cover the entire bed.
then used peroxide and water to cover the entire bed.
did more baking soda
scrubbed everything in
i put my bed against the wall with a fan to insure it will dry faster
