I wanted to make a little “me space” down in my unfinished basement. I wasn’t looking for something crazy expensive but I did want it to be comfortable th-cam.com/users/postUgkxitRzxya-XugamYgLwa_2G1gxPg4MCJHa as I planned on using it to escape reality and have an inviting place to go when I need “me time”. It came very quickly and it took me maybe 30 minutes to put it all together by myself. I will say, the boxes it comes in are awkward shaped and LARGE. So I did have to have help getting it inside. But it is SO comfy. It’s a little on the firm side but I prefer that. The back is not that attractive but I cover it with a blanket. All in all, I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone.

I’m about to try my foaming glass cleaner. I can’t remember the name off hand, but it’s in a white tin container with light blue lettering and from Walmart! Fingers crossed that it can stand up to me (spill queen) 2 kids, one hubby that likes to snack and two dirt magnet doggies..😩oh and 3 cats...😔who am I kidding? I need gasoline and a match😂
@@jamiemontgomery6393Did you ever find out the answer to this? My couch is like a dark grey color. I’m sure it wouldn’t cause any problems due to it being darker but I’d rather not destroy it first and ask questions later lol
You need to use microfiber cloths. They pick up alot of dirt when wet. I would use a cleaner but wipe with the cloth. Good video. Glad to see that I'm not the only one with dirty couch 😉

What kind of cleaner?
I recently discovered a cleaner called krud kutter. I buy it from Lowes. I get the gallon. You can get it at Walmart in smaller bottles already mixed. I make mine stronger than recommend. Microfiber cloths ready help to clean. Don't know if you can use this on leather.
I get a pot with pinsol and water then a microfiber rag. Dip rag into the pot of cleaner to wet spray couches down with windex then get to cleaning. My couches look like new every single time! No scrubbing or elbow grease. Just another great way that I’ve been doing for years!
What is Pinsol Kayla?

Hey Girl, this was really interesting. I would definitely say that the glass cleaner did a good job as well. Alcohol is excellent for getting rid of any kind of germs. It gets rid of them on contact. You can use alcohol on most surfaces, except wood. I'm not aware of any other surface that you can't use it on but I definitely know that wood is sensitive to alcohol. Thanks for sharing!

The glass cleaner stayed wet longer to worth with. Alcohol evaporates quick so you have to work smaller sections

I will be using glass cleaner method immediately. After Thanksgiving and grandkids not using napkins..(grrr one of my biggest pet peeves). Also I caught with the corner of my eye what I thought was a tiny hole, till it moved. Tiny and white (getting itchy and goosebumps, I hate bugs/insects) No idea what it was..wS cyz I grabbed napkin and smooshed the sh..out of it!! All this too say I'll be using alcohol also! I'm afraid this will remain an unsolved mystery cause I have no clue what it was but there's def no more. Maybe larvae from a gnat? that's the only thing I saw flying around here. Thank God winter is coming...no bugs!!!!!

I’m honestly not sure about that ! I too would be afraid . I’ve only ever used it on light beige / tan color couches .
In your situation I’d maybe just try something like distilled water and soap in a spray bottle. Is it a fabric couch ? Or leather ?

Hey I know it's a little late for the Video but I have a brown ottoman maybe just like your fabric with a fair amount of stains couple of dark stains maybe max 2 months old but like water soda little food so I was scared to use the paste from baking soda and vinegar so I am trying to figure out if anyone could help me pls it's not good when company comes over 😭😭😭🤔🤔

Rubbing alcohol is for disinfecting if u want to clean u need peroxide baking soda and dawn the spot it on with a rag

That depends on the cleaning code on the material. Some microfiber has an S code, which means you can only use special solvents -and rubbing alcohol is one if them -it can help remove dirt & stains on those materials.

Doesn't it depend what type of microfiber you have? On some you can't use water you have to use a solvent.
yes -I just learned that you have to look at the tag (mine was on a sticker under the cushions, but some are attached to the cushions) and it should have a clean code -either W (can use water), S (must use a special solvent-and i think you can use rubbing alcohol), S-W (solvent or water) or X (can only vacuum). I don't know if you could use window cleaner on an S type or not, but I would think not.

My microfiber couch is rather old and I vacuumed first and cleaned it using rubbing alcohol. Imo using Method glass cleaner didn't do a good job.
