What about the invisible one Hogan cashed in at Wrestlemania 9? 😂
That works for me brutha
Or Batista’s in 2010??
MITB didn't exist
@@aztecwrrior1997 That's the joke brother.
wait for next weeks list
For me, nothing will ever top “the Heist of the Century”. Such a flawless cash-in
To pull that out of their arse was a top decision. Mania 31 might just have stunk the gaff out if they'd not done that.
“They look like your starting trio in Final Fantasy 7” … GOD DAMMIT LUKE THAT SHOULDN’T HAVE MADE ME LAUGH. 😂
THE TRUTH CAN BE HILARIOUS!
HOLLY HELL HE'S RIGHT!😮
As an avid fan of both WWE and Final Fantasy. It’s outRAGEOUS I never saw the resemblance until Luke brought it up
Imagining Big E with a gun-arm...
@@karudero575 Same and I’m mad about it. XD
The Miz's first cash-in is sickly underrated. Felt properly chaotic in the best way.
But it’s The Miz….
The first or second one?
I was really surprised no one had it on their list at all
Oh my god, Dolph Strife, Big E Wallace, and AJ Lockhart is arguably the best mental image I've EVER gotten.
Thanks, Luke. You're a gift.
one thing i really enjoyed about Dean’s cash in was, it felt like a real coming full circle moment. Seth became who he is with the briefcase, Roman was finally champion after such a turbulent year, getting cashed in at mania and Dean finally got his win over Seth. Furthermore, Rollins who had for such a long time been the chickenshit heel hiding behind the authority, beat Roman Reigns CLEAN. After having to relinquish the belt last time we saw him. Absolutely fantastic angle
And Cole yelling “Rollins is staring at a ghost! A ghost of his past!” was so good!
What makes Mike Chioda and Carmella funny with the constant questions of if she really wants to, is that when Dean Cashed in he just said 'alright' and no further questioned asked
From what I remenber, for a little while before Carmella cashed in, she would attempt to cash in, and then something happened where she didn't cash in. That would've been the reason Chioda was asking her if she was 100% sure.
Goddammit Luke now I can’t unsee Dolph,AJ,and Big E as Cloud,Tifa, and Barrett 😂😂😂😂
Maybe I’m tweaking but when they did the intro, I reckon it shoulda gone “tables, ladders, cash ins!”
More trolling with briefcases.
I think Miz’s first MITB cash-in should be on this list. I was thrilled at the time it happened because we were getting someone new winning the belt and not Cena or Orton.
Genuine question: What exactly did Luke expect them to do with Damian Priest? Dude was tearing through the tag team division in the months leading up to WrestleMania, and got way more wins than MITB holders usually do.
It'd also be nice if they stopped already with the narrative that "nobody cares" about the World Title. That joke got stale about a year ago already. It literally just main evented a PLE that also featured the WWE champion.
It main evented because of Punk, not because of Damian or the title
@@hitmonkey3602*because of Drew.
@@hitmonkey3602 Lol, Punk fans are wild. That match strictly main evented because of Drew.
Not only did all members of The Shield hold the WWE Championship on the same night, they all held it within like a five-minute period.
"The Heist of the Century!!"
Well, thanks Luke, now I know what I'm naming my party in my next FF7 playthrough.
Love that almost all of these have the caveat "Yeah, the follow-up was terrible, BUT!"
Really shows the power of a moment, but LORDY, what we put up with for 20 years...
This is where Wrestletalk are in their own bubble.
We are well past “The World Heavyweight title isn’t worth anything” take, and Preist is a pretty good champion at this point.
To be fair to Wrestle Talk. I still see people saying that the world heavyweight championship is the secondary title. Which it kind of is honestly, from my perspective. And Damian Priest run hasn't been bad. But it hasn't been great at the same time. And Wrestle Talk isn't really that harsh with their criticism here. Trust me I've seen way worse criticism of Damian Priest run. So it could have been worse.
Yup, exactly. I'm more into priest than cody atp (ik it might sound a crazy take, still love cody tho)
1:53 Thats not true. I like the title. Seth did a great job with it
Edge’s will always be my #1 favourite cash in. Not only for all the obvious reasons, but our local theatre used to stream the PPVs so I was in a theatre with 50 other fans and feeling extra hyped. But the audio cut out after the main event, so when Vince came out we had no idea what was going on. I remember all of us trying to lip read, and then we all caught the last word and shouted at the same time “EDGE!!” and it was just an extra cool moment
I would've put Miz 1st time around 8th or 9th. It was dramatic, and i liked the little match he had with Orton.
the RKO counter into the skull crushing finale was really good lol
Right there with you...was hoping it'd sneak in somewhere
It was fine, but his entire reign was utterly atrocious. He was the third wheel in his ‘Mania 27 main event match with Cena which was totally pointless because it was more about Rock and Cena. Not to mention the fact that Michael Cole for me played the biggest factor of why his 2010-11 world title run was a complete failure.
It has one of the best internet meme came from it.
Dolph cash in is one of my all time favourite cash in.
💯
Kinda crazy that we’ve gotten more of Luke, Pete, and Tempest on TLC than we ever did on Blackpool Content Club.
Honorable mention to Batista in 2010, which was the exact same as Edge's but they didn't even need a briefcase.
So much so that I was surprised that no one put it on their list until I realized he never won MITB
Edge's first cash-in in 2006 was great to me for a few reasons:
1. You didn't know how MITB was going to work. You just knew Edge had a contract for a WWE Championship match whenever he wanted it. You didn't think he was going to take his shot that night, he was in a match earlier on (vs Ric Flair who was IC Champ at the time)
2. You ALMOST forgot he had that at times. They waited so long to pull the trigger. Nine months. When have they ever gone quite THAT long with it? They were planning to with Mr Kennedy (... Kennedy) but injuries and so on meant that changed. I don't think they'll ever go the full year now.
3. He spears Cena right away, and Cena kicks out. For a moment it seems like Super-Cena was going to overcome THAT as well, a great bit that created tension in that mini-match until Edge hits the 2nd spear and gets it. Well-done drama.
Personal favourite of mine is CM Punk's 2nd Cash-in. The start of heel Punk in WWE. Punk is always better heel.
"Why are your gs backwards ns." I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed lol
Im ngl, Luke Owen still saying the World Heavyweight Championship is a “championship nobody cares about” when describing Damian Priest’s cash in is cringe and ignorant
I was at the Iyo Sky cash in and it was a moment I will never forget. A bucket list moment for sure! Just a perfect story and flawless execution.
I can't process we have had enough to do a top 10 list. I feel like less than 10 are even remembered
3 things
1: I miss Sat E Days
2: Ziggler over Seth on pop alone
3: tempest to Pete on RVD being 5th “you might have undersold that”
Tempest proceeds to not have him in his top 10…..
Suggestion: maybe 10 best kickouts?
YES PLEASE
PETE: Honestly a fantastic shout
"They look like the starting group from ff7" Lmao, how did I never see this before?!
I love this series and especially love Survival Series. Keep it up lads
Think they underrated Carmella heavily. One of the only asssimilations of the gimmick into the character deserves more love.
RVDs is just destroyed by Edge in the helmet IMO. And bybwhat happens later.
Other than that, this was a lot of fun
In my opinion, I think Damien Priest’s cash-in was the best. The whole thing from the very start was cinema. Seth crying, Drew celebrating with family, the crawling onto the announce table, Punks reaction to the music hitting, the briefcase going flying, Samantha Irvin’s shocked voice crack, the absolute monster south of heaven. Everything was brilliant.
I agree that Priest's was good, and I don't understand this idea that he wasn't built up. He was tag team champion for months before hand, he was the most dominant (male) member of Judgement Day, and he only ever lost to main eventers like Cody Rhodes. People always praise Ziggler's, which was great, but he lost loads while he had it.
I really don't know what people wanted from Priest. He is, to my knowledge, the only person to win a different championship while Mr. MITB, and the point of the other belts is to elevate talent to the main event.
@@MrPineapple045Miz won titles as Mr. MITB too, I think. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong.
Edit: after checking Cagematch, it seems to me that Miz was the US Champion when he won the briefcase, but didn't actually win a title between the ladder match and cashing in.
@John_Smith_101 good to know, they did used to like having the midcard champs in the MitB match, so it makes sense that happened once
Note: My rankings are based purely off the cash-in - not the follow-up
1. Rollins
2. Ziggler
3. Edge (first one)
4. RVD
5. Ambrose
6. Orton
7. Punk (second one)
8. Priest
9 & 10 have your pick. The rest are of the non-terrible ones are just... fine. It's just people cashing in after a match or beat-down with no particularly interesting situations, character work or enormous pops. I mean, maybe some of them do have something like that, but nothing else comes to mind
Now trying to picture the alternate timeline where Goldberg cost Cena the WWE title at One Night Stand 2006...
Lmfao TLB are my initials thanks for the shout out Wrestletalk crew lol
Tables, Lists and Cash-ins was right there Pete.
I remember being pissed about the Seth cash-in because it looked like Brock and Roman were actually having a decent match. I was trying to be positive and was ready for a payoff
You're right it's a real good match before the cash in
23:37
Luke's reaction is so subtle yet perfect 👌😂
Carmella's cash-in and run with the briefcase was by far the best among the women and probably won't be topped easily:
- It came surprisingly
- it was memorable
- it pushed Carmella into star territory and helped her character in the long run
- it gave The IIconics Debut some huge impact and made it mean something and bring change
- She made thr briefcase part of her gimmick
One other note about Edge's first cash in at Armageddon. He had a scheduled match earlier in the night against Ric Flair that he gets disqualified from. So, played up the story that not only did he jump Cena after the biggest match, but he saved himself the wear and tear of having had a full match himself.
Nah Damien at 10 is crazy. The whole story with how Drew lost and Punk costing him and Drew's own words coming back to bite him is awesome.
You guys could have started the video with “Welcome to Tables, Lists, and Cash ins”
A FIRST: A perfect #1 AND #2 score!
PLUS: For the first time since the DEBUT episode of TLC, the entire Top 10 of this list consists of repeat vote candidates. In fact, there were only 14 cash ins mentioned in the entire list, and the Top 11 all got at least 2 votes. This is potentially the best episode of TLC ever as a result of all this.
1) Seth Rollins (30)
2) Dolph Ziggler (27)
3) Edge #1 (21)
4) CM Punk #2 (15)
5) RVD (14)
6) Big E (11)
7) Randy Orton (10)
7) Iyo Sky (10)
9) Daniel Bryan (7)
10) Damian Priest (6)
11) Dean Ambrose (5)
11) Edge #2 (5)
13) CM Punk #1 (2)
13) Carmella (2)
Dolph Ziggler is my favorite cash-in of all time I remember when that happened I was a big Dolph Ziggler fan and I was jumping in joy when he won it
I don't know if this is true but it almost feels like Damien was actually the fourth wheel in this angle (third wheel if you only count the people directly involved in it but hear me out) it feels like most of the reason they gave him the cash in was to get it out of the way so that people didn't get mad if he didn't cash in on this moment and then didn't cash in on Cody , they didn't want to make him look stupid so they had to have him cash in on someone, and it wouldn't have happened on Cody
Im gonna say
Top 3
Edge
Rollins
Priest
To me…
10.) Damien Priest
9.) Carmella
8.) Bryan Danielson
7.) CM Punk (2008)
6.) Big E
5.) The Miz
4.) CM Punk (2009)
3.) Edge
2.) Dolph Ziggler
1.) Seth Rollins
What a great way to start a Saturday!
The most predictable #1 since Best Promo - and with no Luke Owen swerve this time around.
It's quite hypocritical to say that "no one cares about the WHC" and use that as a reason to dock Priest's cash-in, while then putting Ziggler's cash-in at #2. And I loved that cash-in too, but the WHC in 2013 was a nothing burger of a title. The company cared far less for that belt at that time than they do the WHC currently.
Yeah I thought the same thing. Every reason he gave for priest being lower can be applied to zigglers cash in
1&2 absolutely correct
I was one of those people that didn't know you could cash in at WM so I was losing it when Seth's music hit. I was so happy seeing him with the title at the end with all the pyro.
My list.
1.Rollins
2. Ziggler
3. Punk 2nd cash in (so underrated)
4. Edge 1st cash in
5. Priest
6. RVD
7. Bryan
8. Orton
9. Punk 1st cash in (9 and 10 were really hard because i thought neither were good)
10. Ambrose
Thank you Pete for understanding the assignment.
4 way hand shakes at 2 and 1 lol. Well done boys.
Is Luke's camera slightly sepia toned or is it my phone? Haha love the content though 😊
Would love to see you guys do a best/worst gimmicks TLC video
My list -
1) Seth Rollins
2) Dolph Ziggler
3) Edge
4) CM Punk 2nd
5) Daniel Bryan
6) Randy Orton
7) RVD
8) Asuka (it was wholesome)
9) John Cena
10) Dean Ambrose
Off topic but I’m loving Pete’s manicure a nice pop of colour with the blue 😁
You should do a top 10 of your favorite wrestlers of all time !
Video gets a thumbs up for Pete's ghost. Genuinely love it.
I was at the Raw when Dolph cashed in. Any videos you've seen online or on TV do not do justice to how loud that arena got.
If I'm correct, I remember reading somewhere online a couple of weeks after Wrestlemania 31, the rumor was, the decision for Seth to cash in happened during the Rock, Ronda, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon segment. Seth, Brock, Roman and Paul Heyman were pulled aside by Michael Hayes and were informed of the decision
Edge's first cash-in was the best of all time. Bc it was genuinely surprising, when Edge cashed-in. And it was 😱 Edge was successful. Bc WWE didn't build Edge up to be world champion. Like a few others. I get that originally this was a way to get a, lower to mid carder in the main event. WWE could've used the one year, to build them into a world champion.
Liv Morgan's cash in should have been on the list somewhere. Her cash in to win the Smackdown Women's title was legitimately great
1. (19:04-19:15; 21:24-21:40)
*FINALLY*
2. Here's my 10 favorite MITB cash-ins:
- Dolph Ziggler (R.A.M. 2013)
- Seth Rollins (WrestleMania 31)
- Edge (New Year's Revolution 2006)
- Edge (SmackDown 5/8/2007)
- Dean Ambrose (MITB 2016)
- Randy Orton (SummerSlam 2013)
- CM Punk (RAW 6/30/2008)
- Daniel Bryan (TLC 2011)
- The Miz (RAW 11/22/2010)
- Damien Priest (WrestleMania 40)
Honorable Mentions: Rob Van Dam (One Night Stand 2006), CM Punk (Extreme Rules 2009), Carmella (SmackDown after WrestleMania 34), Liv Morgan (MITB 2022), Iyo Sky (SummerSlam 2023), Kane (MITB 2010), Bayley (MITB 2019) & Big E (RAW 9/13/2021)
Bring back the smack down reviews 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
5pm UK time, Wrestletalk Podcast on Monday's.
I legit thought Luke (who loves TNA in the mid-00's) would choose DZ as his fave. I feel I've heard him say that's his favorite at some point
I was worried there might be an outlier for #1 but everybody chose correctly.
Personally I put RVD #1. Seth might be the coolest, but RVD was such a moment it created an entire PPV and with him announcing using the briefcase it was just amazing.
Seth is a close second, and the coolest one, but the whole vibe around RVD and that whole thing just Edges (pun intended) out Seth.
None of you guys mentioned for the Priest cashin the shot of punk's face when Priest's music hits, it's class!
Here’s mine
Edge 2006
Edge 2007
Cm punk 2008
Cm punk 2009
The miz 2010
Daniel Bryan 2011
Dolph ziggler 2013
Seth Rollins 2015
Dean Ambrose 2016
Bayley 2019
Big e 2021
Liv Morgan 2022
Damian priest 2024
They need someone to cash in on a ladder match and grab it, that would be a great heel cash in
No cash in can ever top the Heist of the century
I just did a picture and signature at Comicon in montreal WITH RVD
"It was the Secret Option C that was better than A or B"
If only that were the case with the election...
i feel like they realized they cant have Sully AND Luke on this show at the same time otherwise pure chaos would take over
Those two together are pure giggly chaos and I love it, lol.
Commenting before I watch:
The Edge-Batista-CM Punk cash-in angle is one of my favourite wrestling moments
I preferred ziggler's cash in to seth's
I love it when all three have the same choices but this year’s cash in can be in that category of one of the worst cash in with Drew McIntyre, for me, it was a waste of a opportunity that someone else could’ve had.
Edge's second cash in doesn't get enough love
Tempest is gonna need a new mask if he keeps growing his hair out.
How does tempest not have rvd on his list?
My top ten is a bit odd, but I agree with Tempest and Luke the most.
10. CM Punk (2009)
9. Big E (2021)
My two hot takes are next. Warning.
8. Kane (2010)
7. Sheamus (2015)
I made a video explaining further.
6. Damien Priest (2023)
5. RVD (2006)
4. Randy Orton (2013)
3. Edge (2005)
2. Dolph Ziggler (2013)
1. Seth Rollins (2014)
For some reason, I picture Tempest telling his teacher for calling WM31 a “bad Mania” to remove his mic and get the F🤬k out!
TEMPEST HAS HAIR⁉️⁉️⁉️
Priest is also a star of Botchamania now
If you go to WWE's TH-cam clip of the Rollins cash-in and turn on the CC, for some reason the captions give you a recipe instead of the actual commentary. It's so bizarre. I get that they were cooking with that cash-in, but someone took it a bit too far lol.
The miz is so underated
Wrestletalk continues to prove they hate Damian for no reason. I think y’all don’t actually watch wrestling sometimes because Damian was absolutely booked strong before mania, and people do care about the WHC.
Only acceptable top 3 is 3.) RVD 2.) Dolph 1.) Rollins
Everytime I rewatch Daniel Bryan vs John Cena I ALWAYS cut off the video after the celebration
Edge had the next wwe title match after one night stand and decided not to face cena again
Do you know what would have been a great way for Edge to cash in MITB the second time? Hold it until Mania and wait for Undertaker to have a grueling mania match then cash in on him. Imagine if THAT Edge had been the first to cash in at mania and to do so against Taker and officially hand Taker his first loss at Mania. That would have been amazing.
Punk's second cash-in was really the start of his rise to the top. The Pipebomb made him into a star but that cash in really did a lot for him early on.
Nothing beats Edge in 2006
That's always number 1
Not seen the video yet, but I'm guessing the top 3 will be some combination of Seth, Ziggler and Edge.
I hated the Seth cash in because Lesnar and Reigns (who I hated at the time) had a weirdly good match that the crowd were into, and I was genuinely wondering what finish WWE would commit to. Seth cashing in was WWE bitching out on the finish (to WM!) because they were so afraid of the backlash of pushing the wrong guy. Then they end up delaying Reigns' crowning even further and making it even worse.
Well, in defense of Tempest’s teacher, Wrestlemania 31 was mid up until the cash in. Wrestlemania 30 the year prior was a wayyyyy better PPV.
