Lou, this Buick is astounding. Just when you think that these types of finds don't any longer exist...
It appears to be close to museum/concours condition.
    A terrific feature. Thank you.

The full size wheel covers were an option ,tinted glass, chrome fuel guard and rain guards on the windows also deluxe steering wheel. The base steering wheel was black without the horn ring. Carpeting was optional, but not on this car. Wish it were mine. I'd put the manifold and 4 barrel carburetor from the Century and Roadmaster on it. Thanks Lou.😊❤

That really is a Special Buick. Wouldn't Miss Ethel be pleased to know that her lovely car is getting so much attention 70 years later! It's a beauty, and I'm sure there are a lot of people who would love to buy it from Dennis. As always, thank you Lou, and to Dennis Doerge for allowing us to see it!

What a find, beautiful. Before I was born my mom had a 54 Roadmaster that she talked about for the rest of her life. She said it was the best car she ever drove. From 1939 she drove nothing but the big Buick. Explains why I'm a Skylark freak. Thanks Lou 👍👍😎

Amazing! This 1954 Buick Special Model looks so immaculate that it looks like it just left the dealership today! I love the pastel color combination, Tunis Blue/Artic White, together with the work on chrome parts and pieces; such as the large grille and bumpers at the front, the rocket-shaped hood ornament or the striking line that draws both fenders towards the rear; without forgetting, of course, the beautiful white-striped wheels and chrome hubcaps. A simply perfect interior, with an elegant combination of shades for the upholstery and the striking instrument panel, including the beautiful two-spoke steering wheel adorned with that shield in the middle. The collection of brochures and manuals in the trunk is fantastic, with beautiful, full-color illustrations made by true artists of its time (special mention for the original hubcap still in its box). The ride at the end was exciting, thanks also to the extraordinary view provided by its striking curved one-piece windshields. Let's hope the next lucky owner preserves it as well as the original owner did. In fact, as Mr. Doerge mentioned, if I were there and saw it in person (and of course, had about $29,500 to spare, which is unlikely, haha) I would definitely buy it! Best regards, Lou!

You are taking me back to my childhood. My Grandfather had a 54 Buick Special that he bought new. I spent many hours riding in the back seat. His was burgundy with a white top with a stick shift. He kept it until 1960 when he bought a new Rambler!

Beautiful example of a 1954 Buick Special. Ah man, Dennis, please keep this one. Make room for it! It looks as if it came right off the assembly line. I especially love the grab handle on the back of the seat. A relative had a 1954 Mercury and it had that same grab rope, and we always held on to it when we drove back there. Beautiful color, sound, interior, etc.

Hi, Lou! Well, I must say that Ethel did indeed make "the beautiful buy" as the brochure stated, and so will whoever buys it from Dennis! Ethel and her sons did well to keep this Special car so well preserved after 70 years, and I can hear the blue jays giving a shout out! As much as collectors tend to gravitate toward hardtops and convertibles, we shouldn't overlook the sedans. This Buick certainly proves that point!
BTW, the 1954 Special and Century wagons were the first all-steel Buick wagons, as Buick had built the industry's last woodie wagons in '53, and they were also the first wagons to have a wraparound windshield.
Thanks to you and Dennis for yet another wonderful nostalgic ride!

Lou; I've got to say you've knocked it out of the park once again! You're clearly the Bob Ross of doing classic car videos like this. And the price is priceless. If I could,I'd definitely snap this Buick up in a heartbeat. What a beautiful stunning automobile. "They just don't make them like they used to". When the American auto industry was at its best. The 50's and 60's were the GOLDEN age of the American automobile period! Lou didn't American make some real gems of cars back then? Man it really makes me wonder what happened to the American auto industry. Have a great God blessed day 🙏👍👍🇺🇸🇨🇦💯

Outside of the Skylark, nothing about the '54 Buick lineup knocks me over. But then I start looking at all the little details that went into this car and I'm mesmerized. Lou, you need to wear a fedora hat when you ride along in a car like this just to complete the motif! Makes you want to pull into a Texaco station and have 4 uniformed attendants come out and check your oil & tire pressures, clean your windshield, and fill up your tank with Ethyl for 24 cents per gallon. Wish I had a ride in this beauty, I love cars like this. Thanks Lou!!

Hi Lou, I had to take a few minutes to check out this wonderfully well-kept Buick. It's amazing that it logged only 27,000 miles in all its 70 years! How often do you see a car like this so new looking?
The Special finally got a V-8 engine (264-cid) for 1954 (the previous year's Special still had a straight-8, while all the other Buicks moved to the 322-cid V-8).
The '54 Special four-door sedan came to 70,356 units - the third most popular Buick that year. The original owner found herself a very, er, _special_ car. The overall condition of the car is incredible! Only 27,000 miles from 1954 to 2024! How many other '54s have you seen this nice, Lou?
Thanks again for another wonderful video, Lou! I'll be looking for more new ones - and take the time to check out your past videos of cars which nobody sees much of today. Keep 'em coming!

My father had a 1954 Special like this except it was black. The 1954 model year was quite notable at Buick for several reason. First the styling was all new for that year, second of great significance it marked the return of the "Banker's Hot Rod" Century series and third, it was also the first year a V-8 engine was available in the Special series. Even more notable historically was the fact that sales of the 1954 Buick knocked Plymouth out of the 3rd place in sales. Thus you can see there was a great deal of factual informative material that could have been made part of this video

I remember the TV and radio commercial jingles for 1950s Buicks:
"Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick?" A very nice, solid low-budget Buick Special. Like new!

Buick was the poor man’s Cadillac they had V8 and 120 mile speedometer had a one owner 1965 special with a V6 small compared to that vehicle really amazing find for that price . Remember farm trucks back then we’re geared low they didn’t go more then 70 mph no air conditioning so cars were designed to travel . She’s a beauty amazing a Hollywood museum wouldn’t
buy that for movies . Kids will tear that car up in a week it’s a driver . Hope it finds a home dam nice anniversary gift for that price .

It has power steering but it's not in the center of the horn ring so I'm think it must have been added when the car was restored. The Skylark wire wheels were available on Buicks in 1954 as a $400 option, but not on the Special. Century on up they were available.
