      This is exactly what mine sounds like and is doing! I took at all apart and cleaned it, but nothing changed... luckily I know how to disassemble it now and can replace the power supply! Thanks!!

      No need to replace the entire PSU. It's one singular capacitor that needs replaced (if you want to do it properly, it's a whopping three). It's actually more complicated to take the console apart to get to it than it is to replace the cap, which is a bit absurd but hey. Also while you're in there, might as well replace the crappy Seagate Rosewood HDD with a SSD

      @@KeleStrazaRepairsElectronics At first i thought maybe my Xbox one s internal power supply would be a good donor, but it's a completely different one. So i paid the £30 for a new Xbox one x power supply. I stripped down the one X and compared to all the other consoles I've opened up the one X was a pleasure to put back together, lol my least favourite is the old phat PS2 erghh. anyway the only issue i encountered was that the brand new replacement was missing the threads for the mounting screws? Really bizarre lol so i had no choice but to put it in without the screws, the case and itself clips in place so as long as i don't shake it about it will be fine.
      Thank you for the helpful video.

    For the little ribbon cable that hooks up the front on/off board, I had the same difficulty at first! I found that it’s much easier to first connect the board to the ribbon cable, then screw it into the metal frame afterward.

      The next full repair will be trying to fix the broken subwoofer we have. However, before I can do that, I have to get some additional tools and practice soldering. So, the next videos will be more focused on the new tools I have to get and then learning how to use those tools.

      Ugh. I hope you are able to fix the issue. I would think it might be related to a hard drive issue, but that is only a guess based on my PC building and troubleshooting in the past.

      Very likely to be a dead or dying HDD, as all of the One Xes came with Seagate "Rosewood" chassis HDDs, which are well known and liked in the data recovery business cause they're almost guaranteed to fail more (headcrash) or less (dead head amplifier) catastrophically. Easiest route is a 1TB 2.5" SSD (needs to actually be 1TB, not 960GB) and restoring the OS onto it with a USB stick (what microsoft refers to as an "offline system update" aka OSU). You *can* use 500/512GB (not 480GB) and even 2TB (not 1.92TB) SSDs, but the former will only leave you with about 350GB usable space (ie nothing... one CoD and it's full lol) and the latter is now relatively expensive again (about a hundo) since SSD prices have almost doubled from where they were 8 months ago

    • @Knaeckebrotsaege
      @Knaeckebrotsaege 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      the main bulk filter cap (420V 150uF TAICON) is what dries up and fails, as the One X is stupidly designed to "cool" the PSU with the hot exhaust air coming out of the CPU heatsink, which _bakes_ the caps. You can replace it with any 400-450V 150uF cap of a good brand (I used Nichicon UPH, part UPH2G151MHD6), so long as it isn't larger than 18mm diameter and 35mm length (little bit of wiggle room on the length tho)

      @@Knaeckebrotsaege Yes! Thats exactly what I did. I didn't have the chance to test it in a xbox yet. However it ran two 2A automotive bulbs just fine. About a 4A load. I wrote up my research about it on caps wiki site. Should be "xbox one x power supply".

      Could be, but I never had that issue so I don't know. I did have an issue with an older xbox that had the built in power surge brick in the cord where it went bad after a power surge. Now I think that is built into the power supply inside as a fail safe.

      i know already why i had the same problem they igonred probably the noise from the psu and just checked if itts putting 12v out. and yeah it is putting 12v out but after a couple of seconds that 12v is getting unstable and the console will turn off. i did alot before i came to this conclusion. i was diagnosing my xbox one x for 4 hours replaced some components but didnt work after all i did replaced the psu it worked again. exact same issue and btw the sound that you hear is daungerous because its the power that you hear thats going throu the psu

    • @Knaeckebrotsaege
      @Knaeckebrotsaege 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nltechie9968 the bulk filter cap (420V 150uF TAICON) in the PSU is the issue. The One X's dumb design "cools" the PSU with the hot air coming out of the CPU heatsink, which just _bakes_ the cap to death (causing it to dry up, lose capacitance and no longer do its job, hence the buzzing of unfiltered AC and instability). You're looking at roughly 5 eurodollars in parts (Nichicon UPH2G151MHD6). And taking the console apart to get to the cap is way more complicated than actually replacing it, which is a bit absurd but hey...
