Great video Aaron. I have all 4. I bought 2 and 2 were a gift. I love all of them, but i think the elixir is my fave just edging out the EDP. That being said i get the most compliments w/ the EDT. But i realized the majority of society aren't fragrance lovers like us and they usually love the fresh, clean, and simpler ones. Which is cool. It's all good to me. lol
For me the Elixer could’ve been a stand alone fragrance and called something completely different like “Lavender absolu” for example..but my guess is they put it under the “sauvage” umbrella for sales..
I used to feel the same as someone who considers Elixir my signature. However, since I’ve been getting into cooking and baking I’ve learned that I love to reduce my sauces down until they are thick syrups and gravy’s. I feel like Elixir is like they took Sauvage and let it reduce down for hours and hours, until all the lighter, brighter, cleaner molecules steamed away and you just have the spicy sauavage syrup left.
@@ItDoesntMATTERwhatYourNameIS Yeah I love the stuff, as I do Sauvage Parfum. And of equal importance, the Elixir easily my most complimented fragrance and it’s not even close. It’s too masculine for some people when they first try it or too strong for the people that only use two sprays of d&g light blue, but if you give it a second it’s great in the dry down and if you wear it with confidence you’ll love it.
I think the Parfum is misunderstood and one of the most underrated sauvages. It still leaves a trail, but it’s not obnoxious and annoying like the original. It’s more quiet and introverted, but still lasts long on your skin and will still get you compliments. If you’re up close to someone that is. With the EDT, EDP and Elixir, you’ll attract almost anyone. Although the EDP is a way better choice than the EDT. As it’s more balanced.

@@JefCostello14 Not sure why I'm wasting my time with such sillyness. Then I read comments online that made me realize that maybe I put on too much. Then I tried 2 sprays and LOVED it -- no headache and it lasted all day long.
Great video Aaron! I agree the EDP is best for every day use. Parfum is gorgeous. And Elixir I do a half spray on my chest under my shirt and that keeps it from being too overwhelming.
Elixir is my favourite and I wear two sprays max when I am inside … even to work. Lots of compliments! I love Parfum more for everyday. I have the EDP as well, but like it third, with the EDT last. :)

@@duMaurier15 Elixir smells like it’s its own thing. The other three smell related. The difference between each level… EDT to EDP or EDP to Parfum is relatively small, but there is a large difference between the EDT and Parfum. Parfum is less sharp, smoother and more refined. A very good review thanks - you got a calming voice and your minimalist aesthetic setup is very pleasant. I myself like the parfum the most and am one of the few who really “dislike” the elixir. Fragrance are evoking different emotions in different people and that is the magical part
This is a great video, excellent takes. The Elixir is fun, but it’s the trickiest to wear. It can go bad for you easily. The EDP is a great dumb reach and the Parfum is a lovely scent to have but I’m currently without as I have several that fit it’s use already. And the edt is a classic. It’s easy to recommend especially to people that don’t have a lot of fragrances and just want something reliable they can pickup at their local store.
Thank you for helping me decide on my two latest fragrances: Chanel’s Allure Sport Cologne and now Dior’s Parfum. I very much appreciate your thoughtfulness and deeper understanding of this wonderful world of fragrances. On a related note, would you tell us more about your trip to Mexico? I agree wholeheartedly with your thoughts and professional opinion. I wore the elixir once to work and people downstairs in our office building were talking about it. Far far too potent and that was one spray on the chest. These days I wear either Sauvage EDP or rather Legend ATH which I gravitate more to. Both have given multiple compliments if you care about that sort of thing. The opening in legend oh my word, it’s amazing.
Thank you Aaron , great as always . Please do a similar comparison with the Dior Homme line it's going to be fantastic , and I'm sure lots of people want to know your opinion about them like this . Looking forward to it .
Great review! I like them all, edt-gym, everyday, work! EDP evening, dinner, friends get together! P- date, intimate setting. Elixir - attention getter, they all get complimented.
Concerning the Elixir, the opening is just okay, but the longer it stays on the skin, the better it gets. I wear it when I’m going to be outside spring, summer, fall.
Fanstactic video as usual! I think the edt is the best for all seasons except for winter and as you say very well the only downside is that you smell it almost everywhere. For the cold season i would go with the edp. The Parfum does not smell like the original and the Elixir is too strong to me 😊

I put on the elixir one day and some guy at work who never talks much came up to me asking a bunch of nonsensical questions about my motorcycle and if I got to the gym? For the record we’re both straight guys, but this guy seemed to make an effort to keep closing in to ask more and more questions that’s day. Never mentioned anything about the fragrance, but he definitely got the answer to mortgage rates and the current state of the housing market. 😂
I agree.. Elixir is my least favorite as well. Everyone is different I know! but EDP is and has always been for me after trying it. Started with the EDT ofc it's the OG but when I tried the EDP I was hooked :)
@@migracing8232 strong not necessarily. Something comes across slightly abrasive in the opening to me. It might be the licorice note. Of course all of us have different numbers of olfactory receptors for different smells. Maybe I and some others experience that note more fully and it creates an imbalance not experienced by most.
@@ArthurFShelby Do you know what I just realised, elixir is just an upscaled Parfum with heavy licorice on the dry down. Elixir and Parfum freaking smell the same. I just texted both decant I've. I love Parfum more
I bought the sauvage elixir from Dior when I first smelled it, I hated it and I couldn’t believe how expensive it was. I spray it on my hand, one time and the department store. Well, about an hour later, the fragrance changed, and it turned into something long lasting and into a very masculine scent one that really improved my mood my girlfriend also really liked it as well. It’s a very mature scent something for people in their 40s and 50s like me like I said right out of the bottle. I have to agree with you once I wore for about an hour it was amazing. I went back to buy a 100 mL bottle, which is double the regular sized bottles I would say it smell terrible at first but after about an hour it was amazing and it lasted for a good 8 to 10 hours so I would have to say it is strong. I wouldn’t spray it three times that would be like for a nightclub if you’re going to work one time, maybe on your skin before you get dressed if you’re working very close with other people, but this has become my favorite scent now well I’m saying some things take time to develop like chicken soup. It doesn’t smell very good the first five minutes everything is in there but after a while, it smells delicious. 😂🤣😂🤣p.s. I tested the other sauvages after the elixir experience they all smelled very sweet to me, almost like a woman’s perfume compared to the elixir that one had the DNA of a man for sure 👍 just my opinion the other ones are very sweet and powdery not the elixir
Love this flanker-type comparison. I often wonder what the best concentration / flanker is for a certain line. I don't wear Sauvage, but I like this video!
Thank you for reviewing all 4, i have the EDP great frangrance, just and went a few minutes ago and got descent size sample of the parfum, but yes their all great frangrances.
This is a very interesting video for me, Sauvage is what sparked my current interest in men's fragrances and is the line I know best. I initially felt a little disappointment when I first experienced Elixir but the dry down won me over hard and now the others feel like pulled punches by comparison.
Love this line on paper.....EDP is my favorite. On my skin sometimes the Ambroxan feels like some sort of cleaning product....it's very weird....got this with Bleu from Chanel also but not with YSL Y or Versace Dylan Blue. Don't know if they all use different kinds or something on my skin...anyway it's pretty much the reason i do not own a bottle of Sauvage yet.
hot damn..I grew up in eastern europe.. moved to US in my teen age..first time I ever tried on Sauvage-I had an instant flashback of some cleaning product my mom used when I was a kid..ambroxan...that is so weird you brough it up..
The genius thing about elixir it goes through several stages when its drying...first few minutes edp would smell better for most but after a few hours, nothing beats the elixir...whoever made it is a true genius
Great video Aaron, it's really useful to get your input and comparison between fragrances. Would you ever do something similar based around longevity? Knowing which fragrances you've tried that last the longest on you would be very helpful. Wish I could try your fragrances but they don't ship to Australia!
Bought the Parfum a few years ago before I got into fragrances. Really enjoy it. I remember I got a reaction from a hostess who asked, “is that sauvage?” To which I replied, yes. She said “It smells better than I thought”. If I knew the differences between EDT, EDP & Parfum at the time I would’ve been able to put 2 & 2 together, but I didn’t. I just took the compliment & went about my dinner hahaha.
Thanks for the information. Maybe you could do something like about Dior Homme versions. Or the Gentleman line of Gyvenchy, or even the Blanc line of Lacoste
I love the Edp and Elixir the most but parfum smells reeallly good too its so smooth and edt is fine but not my taste. I would say N.1 is both edp and elixir and then N.2 is Parfum and last is edt
Amazing video idea. I have none and am looking to get just one for the hell of it. It’s basic but where I live not a lot of people wear fragrances so it will be good for me
I love all the Sauvages, but just something about the Parfum's end note that doesn't suit me. It's too powdery. My favorite is the EDP. It's smooth and balanced. The ladies love it.
Im late to the party, but love the breakdown. I own Elixer after trying it and parfum 2 days in a row at nordstrom. One spray per arm--i thought I had them swapped. Glad i tried a secone time. The parfum was too... Old and smelt of bandaids and ointment. my wallet preffered the parfum, but elixer was the winner by a country mile. I wear it to work and get compliments from older ladies (70+). Very unexpected as im 36, and my girlfriend (31) loves it too.
Elixir is all about the dry down. I'd make sure to spray it at least an hour before you want people to actually smell you lol. But the dry down is absolutely fantastic.
I am confused between Sauvage EDP and Parfum. I like the sandalwood when the parfum dries down. EDP is more subtle. No overpowering notes. Both have excellent longevity on my skin.
Please do something like this for other fragrance lines as well. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the Acqua di Gio line!

Never mentioned anything about the fragrance, but he definitely got the answer to mortgage rates and the current state of the housing market. 😂
Very funny
I agree.. Elixir is my least favorite as well. Everyone is different I know! but EDP is and has always been for me after trying it. Started with the EDT ofc it's the OG but when I tried the EDP I was hooked :)
Wonderful idea for a video. I love it and I hope you do more comparisons like this!
I was waiting for this!
Very good idea you did this and thank you for doing it. I do think it would be a good business move to do this more.
When you explain the elixir like "overwhelm everyone in the room" and "not suitable for work".... this is like music to my ears.
Hey Aaron love the videos this is one that I needed as I’m looking at these - fan from derby
Last time i watched you were talking down Sauvage in one video, which i agree with..so this is a surprise now.
finally someone I agree with on this! subscribed. love your videos!
Great review
The EDP and Elixir are my faves. For some reason the parfum does not last on me
Doesn’t last on me either. Disappointed personally as it’s not exactly cheap.
@@algray9966 yh luckily i managed to sell and get a decent amount. The EDP is way better anyway
Edp my favorite
Have been waiting for this review! 👍🏻
Thank you Aaron. 🙏🏻
Awesome descriptions. That Elixir opening is harsh for me as well but the dry down is so intriguing.
Do you mean harsh strong cos that's two different things.
I love Parfum more
Would LOVE to see a dior homme video detailing each flanker!
Excellent comparison!
Excellent video Aaron. God bless.
Hi Aaron, which one out of the Suavage EDP or Azarro Most Wanted (Toffee Accord) would uou chose and why please. Can't decide. THANKS
you got such a relaxing voice man...
Well done as usual sir
I've got the EDP version but I hardly ever reach for it anymore. I prefer the ATH line 👍😁
Love this video format
Wound absolutely love it if you did the Azzaro by night collection, would love to know your opinion on these. Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you for the great comparison! 🥂
Love this video format wher you compare different frags from one line. ❤
It’s basic but where I live not a lot of people wear fragrances so it will be good for me
EDP is the best with the Very Cool Spray a close second (sadly discontinued)
Ambassader by Gisada has a Sauvage similar scent but its done to smell more refined and grown up. Its beautiful
I would love to see you review Hanae Mori Eau de Parfum. The scent is absolutely addicting.
Just bought the purfum 200ml. Nice to see that I made the right choice
I'd like to see this for the YSL Y line :) And Armani Code line :)
Parfum concentration is master perfumery. The ladies love it!
The Elixir is headache inducing but beautiful. Only wear Elixir if you'll be outdoors.
This could become the mostly highly viewed fragrance series on TH-cam
EDT is the best for my nose. Feels like more balanced than the others
It's definitely the easiest to wear and most versatile.
I am confused between Sauvage EDP and Parfum. I like the sandalwood when the parfum dries down. EDP is more subtle. No overpowering notes. Both have excellent longevity on my skin.
Boss review. Agree 100%. Instant sub
