Fantastic collection of games and creators! Thanks John! My recommendation from the video is Bravely Default, god I love that game. 💙 As for one that didn't make the vid, I'd say Chrono Trigger. Obviously it has been discussed to death, but for my money, it's probably still the purest distillation of everything I love about JRPGs.
Xenoblade is a masterpiece. Amazing story, one of the best love stories in video games, amazing and unique combat, very balanced combat (even the "worst" character in the game, Sharla is still decent), and fun world to explore (which I can't say about most open world games which quickly become a chore)
Lots of games I haven't played here. I did get my hands on Harvestella recently so I might start playing that while I wait for the new Zelda to come out.
And, of course, you had to make sure that Harvestella got a mention 😂 Nice to see some WRPGs featured. Tokyo Xanadu piqued my interest 🤔 And there you go, beating that FFVII drum likecthe champion you are 😂

I've been meaning to watch this vid for awhile, as I was curious what is a no gimmick rpg. Now that I've watched and learned how to read titles properly it all makes sense! Man I forgot about chained echos, remember ordering a physical edition awhile ago, I'll have to check up on that! Man love seeing tales of the abyss here, easily one if the greatest games I've ever played!
