    Just go my A7 IV and I am now binge watching your related videos. VERY HELPFUL and you are presenting it in a very nice way. One video you could make is what phone apps are out there and support this camera. And what can be done with such an app. Also things that the camera can do with BlueTooth and with WiFi (not even sure if the bugga has WiFi, but I suppose it does.
    Keep up the good work Sir. Greetz from Bandung - West Java - Indonesia.

    card for s log 3 10 bit 422 & S/Q mode.....v60 or v90 ??

    Great stuff Sohil! A few comments. Regarding the cards. You are absolutely correct, but.....if you can stretch the budget a bit, get a V90. I'm a birder. Video is not my thing, but since I bought the V90, try as I may, I can not fill the buffer. At 10 fps it seems bottomless with that card. Not to mention importing images on my computer is way faster. As for the charger, even if Sony put a charger in the box, I'd never unpack it. Dual chargers for me, are essential. I always have an extra battery sitting in the charger. I don't know about you, but I routinely forget to put the battery on the charger when I get back from a shoot. No worries, there is always one on the charger ready to go.
    Another accessory I'd recommend highly if you have larger hand or shoot larger lenses, is the SmallRig L bracket. I put these grip extension/L brackets on all my Sony bodies, and this is by far the best design I've ever seen and makes the ergonomics near perfect for me. Not expensive either.

      @SohilPandya1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      - Thanks for the detailed comment! I totally agree the V90's are that much better :) Out of curiosity which V90 cards do you have? Sony/Lexar/Sandisk?
      - Same, I've got 3 batteries and two of them are always in the charging unit! :)
      - I've been thinking about the small rig body housings as they seem to be leading the way. I'll definitely check that one out!
      Thanks again for the comment!

      @@SohilPandya1 Sohil, I have 2 V90 cards. A Sony Tough and a Sandisk Extreme Pro. The Sandisk is in the #2 slot and I have never actually used it. Being a stills shooter, I never fill a 64 GB card so the second card is for those times when "Oh crap, I forgot to put the card back in the camera". LOL. I have to assume that since the specs are the same, they work the same.
      Not being a video guy, I don't use a cage, but from what I can tell the cage works the same as the L bracket. My issue with any grip extensions on Sony FF bodies was they all either require removal to change the battery or have some other awkward solution. Here is a link to the L bracket on the SmallRig website and there is a gif that shows how it works. Simple, and apparently fool proof. www.smallrig.com/smallrig-l-bracket-for-sony-alpha-7-iv-alpha-7-siii-alpha-1-3660.html

    *1. Which file format is good for editing on older computers (2017 - 13 inch MacBook w/touchbar)?* I’m probably going to shoot 1080p for now. This is my first camera (A7IV + f/1.4 24mm). I’m likely going to use free FCP or Free Davinci Resolve. I’ve tested one video and it was very laggy. I am yet to try decreasing the timeline resolution.
    2. *Which USB-c cables do you think are best for transferring files? My computer only has USB-c/Thunderbolt.*
    3. *Is there anyway to use A7IV as a high quality webcam without a capture card?* I briefly tried it the other day, but it didn’t look 1080p and wasn’t liquid smooth, it looked a bit choppy. *Which USB-c capture card would you recommend?* I looked at Elgato but they didn’t have a USB-c one.

      1. I have a 15inch 2017 MacBook Pro w/Touch Bar and I’m able to work just fine with 4k 4.2.2 10bit XAVC HS. I edit using Final Cut Pro.
      Remember S-I mode is easiest format for a computer to digest but it is the heaviest in terms of raw data and eat up your memory cards. For me the HS is good enough.
      2/3. I use a usb c cable that came with my Samsung T5 ssd drive. I have a few of those lying around and it does a great job of transferring as well as giving me ability to use The camera as a webcam. I have not had any issues around quality. The 1080p 30 works incredibly for me.
      Hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

    • @vanguardmma2465

      @@SohilPandya1 Cheers. It looked a bit choppy for me. Maybe it had something to do with my lighting or shutter speed? Not sure. What mode (on the dial) do you have the camera in? Movie?

    • @SohilPandya1
      @SohilPandya1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s possible. I set it to movie mode, then set shutter to 1/60 for 30fps or 1/50 for 24/25fps
      Adjust everything else accordingly.

    is there enough room on the flippy screen when it folds in, screen towards the inside of the cam, for the screen protector to fit or does it push it out a bit?

    I've heard that the glass screen protectors rub against the camera when the screen is turned around against the camera and hinders the little catch that secures the screen. Do find this to be the case?

    • @SohilPandya1

      It depends of file format you are using. For example - XAVC HS and XAVC S - no problem for V30, but if you use XAVC S I you need at least v90 for HD video and 4k. And if you want S&Q - forget about v30 (you can use this card only for XAVC S HD, other modes required at least v60)

    • @SohilPandya1
      @SohilPandya1  2 ปีที่แล้ว
