  • The Barn Find 1967 Chevy C10 Stepside is back in the garage for some tlc! The driver's door is ridiculous & needs to be fixed for good. We fixed the door in a previous video linked below but it's catching on the fender again. A big hammer & a block of wood is the answer. We also need to install the finger guard underneath the hood. There is also a flat tire we are going to plug. Tool, parts, t-shirts etc. are linked below.

    I've used the same tire plugs for 40 years now, they work very well.

    At first I thought "hinges are sprung" until you showed it closing easy. Then when you started with the wood and hammer I thought "a slat of wood under a prybar with gentle pressure" but you got it working fine the way you went with it. Good deal.

      That is a good idea.

    after you trim the ends you get some fire on it with a match & melt it a bit.

      Light the ends with a BIC and let it fizzle out inside the tread... Makes a perfect seal everytime... Makes the plugs last triple the life

      That's smart.

    Really like the truck squeaking door and all

      It is a nice squeak. It will probably come back again.

    That truck is worth getting a body man to fix that door.

    I had a 71 GMC once that the wind caught the driver's door and wanged it open and jacked it up. I have a 55 and a 56 wheel you can have if it will help.

      @freemansgarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That darn wind. That's terrible. I really appreciate the offer for the wheels. The 56 wheel would help. Then I would just need 2 more for a full set of 56 wheels.

    Steps I ALWAYS take on doing Plugs..... Ream the hole with the reamer/file handle about 10 to 14 times.... Add the plug into the T Handle...... Add a good glob of rubber cement into the hole and press plug inwards until its about an inch from the bottom of the T Handle... Pullup slowly until the opening in the end of the T Handle is visible... Snip the rubber strip in the eye.... Trim off excess leaving about an inch of the strips showing... Get a BIC and light it... Let it burn until it fizzles out... Never had a plug fail yet.....

      I wrote that down on a piece of paper. Next time I do a plug I'll try it that way. If I can find the paper that is.

      @@freemansgarage I use a drill to ream out the hole. Then proceed with the T-Handle.
      Man I thought that handle was going to break & go right through your hand.

    My god, the door opening up at the beginning of the video was worse than nails on chalkboard. You’re probably better off just driving around without a door. 😂
