Hey Richard, I always like using original parts whenever I can, nice that you have some subscribers that helped you out with some original hardware, car is coming along, great job man!
Hi Richard, I just watched your labor of love video, moving right along. I'm sorry I didn't have any left over original Marden Nuts for your motor mount bolts, both of the same size used on the front motor mount studs and the rear bolt through frame bolts. I only sent 2 flat washers for the rear bolts through frame that are only used on the right rear mount that is slotted. Thanks for sharing and it's always a pleasure watching. Stay safe my friend... If I knew how to send you a photo of my 283 after I installed it in my '56, which I am so pride of.
Only the slotted holes...it makes sense now! I need to add an email address to the channels "about" page so people can send digital pictures etc. Thank you again for the support.
It seems you had more clearance turned one way then the other, perhaps adjusting the tie rod ends to "center" the center link would equalize the clearance?
It’s my theory that the car became emotionally distraught because the oil pan what’s not prepared and painted like the rest of the engine, on top of having feelings of sadness due to the similar neglect in regards to the fire wall, and in a extreme act of rebellion it purposely touched the suspension as a result. Because the car is a living breathing human being therefore it’s feelings must be considered at all times. (Go the distance) (whisper voice) and just know, before people get new teeth they always prepare the gums properly to receive them. Good work sir. 💯
Are you saying the valve covers might be on backwards? I actually haven't even paid any attention to that. They're just sitting on there. I need 4 more bolts.
Yes, I found a reproduction filler neck but it's on backorder. If it does not become available soon, I will have to get creative. I've got the new location under contract to buy, but the current location needs to sell! It's a waiting game.
I bought my pan for 56 2 dr wagon on eBay , for std black 49 bucks free shipping , fancy chrome or aluminum 90.00 bucks free shipping . I got gold anodized for mine but I’m 3/4 in forward . Jus sayin
That's a good price. Speaking of being forward...I might want to double check that the rear mounts were all the way back making contact with the horns on the frame. That might be all I need. I appreciate you watching & commenting.
if it were me I'd take a ball peen hammer and smack that oil pan a few times right where it makes contact and never turn to the left to full lock. save you a hundred dollars as it's so close yet so far away. Get on with it, man.. let's go for a wee little rip, already.. is that a vortec 5.7L or just the cyl heads are.. I'm confused.. truck pan or car pan, it just needs a little clearance, Clarence.
A healthy shipment of parts & this '56 Chevy is going to roar to life! Here's more to watch th-cam.com/video/742TuYVh10Q/w-d-xo.html

There are some very nice people out there.
Keep up the good work. I enjoy watching You are moving.I'm from american fork utah
Thank you. I've been to Utah more than a time or two.
Watching that right-front tire go up and down adds drama. Nice touch.
That's funny. Unintentional drama.

Bounce the suspension and find out if it'll touch when it hits a bump

One of the ends is much larger on the drivers side/steering box side.
@@freemansgarage well dang it! You're doing a great job!
Rich those brake lines should be clipped to frame or at least zip tied to frame not floating free..
Absolutely. There are some original metal clips sitting up on the cowl. I just need to take two seconds & use them.

I accept your theory.
Great video and content 😢
cool
Don’t know if matters on that style of heads but if hear little noise value covers on back wards think and pvc valve goes in front of carb/TBI lol

Richard did we ever find the filler neck for the Rambler? how's the hunt for the new location?

Far as I know all Chevy oil pans same except stupid expensive one so might just to to modify that oil
Just curious, you painted the frame, but not the firewall? I'm sure you have a game plan for that!
I do. I plan on separating the body from the frame to do a full floor pan. At that point I'll paint the rest of the frame etc.

if the truck(?) oil pan doesn't fit, are you going to need to swap out the pickup as well?
That's a good question. I won't know until I try it.
They let anyone on here

I agree. These are aftermarket World heads. Factory this engine came with center bolt valve covers, but pre vortec.
Mail order catalog lol stay away from JC Whitney Well unless looking for flashy stuff lol
I haven't seen that catalog in a while!
