I have been searching for ages for someone on youtube who did really pretty, authentic vintage looks. I am so, so happy I have found you! You're gonna be my hair inspiration throughout summer, and especially prom! Thank you!
This hairstyle was a life-saver! The senior living facility where I volunteer had their 1920s themed 20th anniversary party. I had no time to shop for a true '20s dress (found a nice black one that did quite well) and knew one of your hairstyle videos would do the trick!! It turned out lovely! Just had to share with you :) Thanks again!!
Hi StrawberryKoiVintage -- Just wanted to thank you for this great tutorial. I recently wore my hair in this updo for a friend's formal graduation party. (I did it up in foam curler the night before...pretty hard-core) It looked lovely, and it was the first updo I've ever been able to do with my hair!
I love how you made everything so simple, from the choice of music to no pro make-up. It looks so easy to do and I'm obviously gonna try it :D I also like how you're not using expensive products going "take this 20$ hairspray and I got this curling iron on sale for 200$" lol
wow, youur hair is georgous, and so are you. I love your vintage style. its so cute and your videos are great. I hope that you continue to make more!!!
Wow! I'm very impressed. I love to do hair, too, but I've never been able to accomplisht the "Titanic" look. Kind of reminds you of ancient Greece, too. Thanks!!
This might be my favorite. You are so beautiful! At school we are reading the Odyssey, and there was an amazing picture of Penelope that was painted a long time ago. Her hair was almost like this. Very pretty. :)
@itsmellgee Thank you so much! I think outward and inward both can have pretty results, I actually use one or the other depending on the hairstyle :) I used a cheap Conair flat-iron for this vid ;)
This might sound odd, but your voice combined with the soothing music makes this video very relaxing to watch, lol. Now I'm going to go play with my hair...you have inspired me!
I love this; it looks absolutely gorgeous on you. I tried this with longer hair and it worked out fine. I just did more of a side part because in my opinion I look ridiculous with a middle part. It came out awesome, not to be vain, hahah. I'm going out Friday night and I'm doing this hair-do on me. I can't wait! Thank you SO MUCH. :D
wow, it looks really pretty. i'm going to have to try it tomorrow just so i can get the look right on valentines day. thanks for sharing. it looks really great on you. i'm scared it might not look as good on me. :p
Thank you! I actually use both methods, but for this hairstyle in particular, using a curling-iron curls the tips of the hair a little bit better (ringlets vs. waves)... which is the most important part of this hairstyle :) Thank you though!
Hey, I'm from Germany and I did this Up-Do for my prom yesterday! I'm not really good at doing hairstyles, but thanks to you it worked out very well! Thought I should let you know :p Thank you!!!
@fluffybunny360 Awe, thank you so much!!! Yes, my hair is very naturally dark... It's from the Asian jeans. Some people say it's too dark for my skin, so that means a lot :)
@AppleBee424 This particular dress was from Forever21, but I mainly shop vintage and thrift stores... as well as H&M, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters... basically anywhere I CAN shop, I do :)
That's looks great! I might try that tomorrow for my sister's graduation if I can find enough bobby pins at home. You're very pretty by the way : ) And thanks for the tutorial!
@000Alanna000 haha! Awe, thank you. I don't have a problem with people disliking it, but I don't understand why they have to voice it... especially so distastefully! To each their own I suppose, thank YOU for enjoying it :)
Thank you! I have done this with long hair as well, you just need to go about it a little differently. You are going to make TWO loops with the hair, instead on one. Simply make a loop with HALF of the section, pin in place and repeat with the rest of that same bit of hair. Do this with the all of your hair, and loop the sections THROUGH each other, for good hold and to create an appearance of a bun. It's also looks nice to leave the tips of hair out, to hang in little ringlets all over ^_^
@Franksie11 I borrowed the chain from one of my other necklaces, and the key itself is an antique skeleton key! You can find tons of them at flea/antique markets :)
The section that's best to have shorter hair, is the bang area ringlets. If your front section of hair is very long, you will have to alter the look a bit, by sweeping all of the curls into the bun. If the rest iof your hair is long, just pull it back into a bun and randaomly pin the curls to your scalp, by pinning *more* than one part of the curl itself against your scalp (as compared to myself only pinning it once) :) Experiment, long hair can definitely do this hairstyle in it's own way! ;)
That's really sweet to hear! I realize I get over sensitive and should just ignore the rude things people say... especially when I get great support from watchers like yourself :)
It would create a different look, but just as beautiful in its own way! :) Just bypass the bangs when styling, and allow a few curls to hang down at the bang's sides! You'll look gorgeous ;)
That's true, and something we all have to deal with! And some people just hold curl a better than others... (because of hair type and length, etc) but also some hair product really does help. I use a "fine mist" hair spray, that I spray all over and really does help :)
You know, I was surprised to hear people being negative about the music, because I found the music to be a catching point, and it makes it feel romantic-esque, which suits your style very well. :) I love it!
I think it's great that you use your own music in your videos. And I like your music, it's a great break from the agressive and too loud stuff that some gurus use.Nice and calm.

Thank you, and I'm so glad it worked out for you!
I prefer the 1 1/4" the most :)

It would create a different look, but just as beautiful in its own way! :) Just bypass the bangs when styling, and allow a few curls to hang down at the bang's sides! You'll look gorgeous ;)
That's really pretty! Seems easier to use a curling iron than hot rollers. Hm. Maybe I should get one...some day. :)
Thank you for watching!! ^_^
