Cyle thanks for the help . I had no spark and checked the crank sensor. It had an ohms reading at first but when moving the wire at the top of the sensor it would loose connection. 👍
Great informative video. You are very knowledgeable on these machines! I just bought a new Odes 800 x2 and just reached 20 hours for break-in and was wondering how to get rid of the governor that prevents it from going past 25 mph.
There is a single wire connector it believe it's under the hood on the driver side riptide to an upright frame rail. All you have to do is disconnect it. Some are under the seat & are a white connector & some are under the hood & are a single black connector
You are a genius! It was the single point black connector under the front hood. Runs like a dream! I've been trying to get the dealer I bought it from (which is 3 hrs from me) to tell me where it is for a week and won't get back with me! You are a huge help! Thank you so much!
Glad I could help you out. Definitely sounds like the typical dealer unfortunately. Alot of people who get a hold of me tell me I have more information than the manufacturer 😆
Wow amazingly informative video! Just what I was looking for. I'm hopefully buying a 2014 odes lz800 for 1500$ it has coolant in the oil, so hopefully a head gasket will fix. Good to know the possible cause of the overheating engine. The first time I can afford a utv so fingers crossed. Do these all have can am engines?
Just picked up a MSU 850 and already had to change the throttle cable cause it was sticking. It was melting the inside of the cable. It would stick when the engine was cold. This started at on 27 miles on it. Dealer got me a new one and had to fix it myself cause all their mechanics quit. I bought some 1/2 heater hose and slid the new cable through it to try and protect it from the heat. I also bought some 1/2 thick adhesive backed firewall insulation for the cover like you did cause you ain’t lying on how hot the center console gets. If I still get throttle cable issues, I’ll just run it on the outside of the console. Already thinking of selling it and getting a Honda
That's the best Idea you have is to sell it. I promise you it will be a constant battle till you do sell it. The Hondas are nice but I love Can am. That's probably because I use to work for them lol.
Hey thanks for the informative video. For the fluid’s in the diff and transmission you said they changed to a 75/140 is that the recommended fluid now for the the 2013 ODES as well? Clarifying if I should switch to this fluid over the recommended for both dogs and transmission? Thanks Also would love to see a video on explaining options for the overheating issues with the odes and common fixes/upgrades/changes Keep up the great content
I personally don't see the harm in changing it to a 75w-140. But some would say stay with the 80w for the diffs in the older models. But I haven't had any issues with running the 75w-140. Next time I get one in the shop I'll try to make some videos on upgrades & for them.

I have a 2013 odes dominator and the starter just spins. Is it possibly the sprang clutch blew up? Anything to look out for? Please advice is appreciated
It definitely really possible that the starter clutch/ spray clutch took a crap. You will have to pull the stator cover off & see if the gear sprins both directions. If so then it's bad. Not to hard to replace, just a little time consuming.
Back again. I greatly appreciate your feedback. My dads 2022 junglecross 800 wont start. I checked fuel pump its good. I checked for spark no spark. I replaced crank position sensor still no spark. Checked fuses. Any help would be appreciated.
Are you sure the crank sensor is making voltage? You need to do a peak voltage test on the sensor to make sure the flywheel is turning & the sensor is producing voltage. If it checks out then start looking at ground wires & all connectors.
I’ve got a 2019 massimo 400s buck… it seems to sway back and forth while driving. I have looked at all of the steering components and still looks tight. The UTV only has 134 miles on it. Any help would be appreciated 😁… btw.. love the video, thanks for your expertise!
Just bought a 2017 dominator 1000 5 seater for 3k has 1300 miles need to redo the stator to regulator harness not a big deal while going over it noticed some slope in control arm bushing and the front bearings. Also the front diff pinion has a lot of slop wondering if the nut may be backed off or if maybe the bearings shot.
The 2017 Dominator 1000 had a slew of issues. Of course as you know the charging system was an issue with those with melting the stator plug. Also the transmission was a big issue with those with the not backing back off and pushing a hole through the left side of transmission into the CVT causing clutch failures and major destruction. A lot of times the nuts do back off the differentials like that. I would definitely get in there and check the front and rear diff for sure. They also make a regulator rectifier relocation kit and you can try to get a hold of Scott swords at Scooter Powersports you can give you things you need to do the relocation
My oades 800 overheats its brand new and the dealer says it does it at low speed so I guess they think I’m supposed to drive 40mph everywhere and well there saying I can’t get a refund and is I put a oversized thermostat on it I’ll void warranty but if I take it out to like the river run it’s 7 miles of trails. I can’t take it there. It overheats every time I slow down. I’m so frustrated. This thing is brand new.
That’s crazy I putt around at super slow speed with ‘06 rhino 660 in 110F last year and never over heat however I rigged the radiator fan to run manually. I can just leave the fan on the whole time or turn it off. I mostly go slow speed in 4x4 and run it all day if I want. Also I make sure to keep the radiator and oil cooler clean.
What could be the issue with mine it starts and idles fine but when you go to give it throttle it dies I have replaced the injectors and the tps and iac
Hi Cyle love all the information you give on UTVs . Wondering if you have any information on my 2014 odes 800 dominator it only has 25 miles on it and the fuel pump quit , check and switched around relays to no avail. I haven’t had a lot of time to work on it but last winter it got cold and the started to work again but only for two or three days then quit again. Have you come across this problem and do you know how to fix it , I would appreciate any help. Thank you
So if you had the choice to buy a newer Odes machine say 2019 vs an older Kawasaki/Polaris/Can Am say 2014, which way would you go based off of issues you have seen? Thanks,
Tony that all depends on the model of the others. But I probably would still choose a can-am are polaris over the odes. Don't get me wrong tho, every manufacturer has its problems but Odes seem to have way more constant issues. I have also worked on some really reliable odes but that is a rare occasion.
Massimo 250 i ran jumpers off the batte to each fuse it stsrts and stays running it wont shut off and stays running with key out is thay the ignition switch ?
Nice work Cyle, I have a 2015 Odes Dominator 800x4. My issue is with the switch ignition that is not cut off after turner on the ignition. I’m checking the cable and everything seems to be fine. Can you please advise. Thanks in advance bro.
I know there are 2 styles of ignition switch. But they both are known to get water inside then & get corroded. You can pull the switch & take them apart & clean the connection & see if that cures your problem.
Thanks for the prompt response, I cleaned and check the wires and still not turning off, so I changed the ignition thinking that would solve the problem but it’s not. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciate
Hey Cyle, I have a year old Axis 500 and with about 35 miles on it. After I run it for about 15 min it wants to not take throttle but will still idle. I can shut it off and restart it and it’s good to go again for about another 10-15 minutes. I replaced the injector for grins cause it’s simple. I figured it wouldn’t change anything and it didn’t. Seems it’s something electrical after it warms up. Takes a lot longer to start acting up in the winter. Any info would be great. Thank ya much!!
I would start off by doing an ECU reset. That will help with getting the ECU back to what should be a factory setting. Try that first & let me know & we will go from there
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 Thanks Cyle… you the man! Is the reset procedure the same as the others in your videos? Press throttle, start, keep pressing for 3 seconds, shut off, then restart?
So you're saying you're jumping the starter solenoid after replacing it and you still get nothing to turn the starter over? Now I have gotten started solenoids are bad from brand new but if you're jumping across the terminals it should automatically put 12 volts to the starter make sure you got good continuity going from the starter solenoid wire all the way down to the starter. You can also try just putting 12 volts to the starter to see if it will turn over.
I don't know of any sensor that would cause it to not like that unless you were running on one cylinder. Usually a Hard Knock doesn't necessarily mean a rod bearing it could be a piston issue also. Drain the oil and look for any brass debris if you see gold then you have a rod bearing issue if you see silver you probably have a piston issue.
Hey Cyle, I took a couple weeks off working on the UTV but I am back at it now. I replaced the belt and all fluids but that didn't solve my slipping issue so I am working on the Wet clutch now. I have removed the Primary clutch with no issues however it doesn't seem that I have enough room in front of the secondary clutch to get it off of the shaft before hitting the seat frame. Do I need to tighten that spring from the back side in order to get the room to remove it? I feel like I have tried every angle to get that thing off of there.
You can't tighten that spring. Just make sure you have the secondary clutch all the way compressed again after taking the belt off. You should be able to get it out.
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 I did a little more research and people online said to push the engine over a little with a piece of 2x4 lumber and that worked to move it just a tiny bit to allow the clutch to slide off the shaft.
Awesome. Glad you got it out. If your replacing the wet clutch you might as well to the wet clutch drum & the one way bearing since you are already there
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 I did, I bought the kit and replaced it all at the same time. I also added the slugs since it was a pretty easy process.
Are there any common issues with the rear end? Got a 750 side by side with about 150 hours. The rear end seems to be jumping/catching/jerking. Even in just 2 wheel drive, with posi lock on or off, doesn't matter
Are you sure it's the rear end & not the belt? I know they do have an issue with the bolt are nut coming loose on the yoke causing issues on deceleration jamming the pinion gear into the planetary gear.
Hello, Cyle! It’s me again ( dude on BMS Beast 1000😊). I have question to You about injector. Does this injector have operating modes? And how change this modes if this possible🙏 Thank you!
The only way to change what they call dwell time( how long the injector stays open) is to get the Hud hacker hardware from norwestsuspension.com then you can do all kinds of mods to your ecu
Hey guys, I'm surprised we don't have dedicated forums for Odes, Massimo etc...would be so much easier to exchange information and service how-to knowledge.
There are a few of them on Facebook for both the Odes & Massimo/ HiSun units. Also Scooterspowersports.com has free downloads if service manual for the odes & motorcycledoctor.com has some great information with fee downloads. I have worked with both companies for years now.
Thanks for letting me know, I have looked around, and realized my Massimo has CFmoto 1000 engine and Bosch ecu...perhaps you have similar experience with that setup?
I have a 2014 800 cc dominator 4 door .. won’t move when you put it in gear. You can feel it kick in and see drive line jerk but when you hit the gas it won’t move like it’s in neutral.. any idea or help would be appreciated..
Hey Cyle, I bought a Odes dominator 800 x4 and I have problem with the following; heat while driving it’s crazy, also change the ignition switch and it’s keeping damaging the new one after a few months of use and lastly the motor makes a huge noise. Can you please advise in any of these three issues Regards
Sorry for the last response. Didn't see this comment. So as far as the heat goes all the odes have this issue. I put an acoustic heat barrier under all the housing around the motor. Also a lot of guys will put another fan pointing to the back from the front on a toggle switch so blow cool air through the engine tunnel. When it comes to the ignition switch it sounds like you may have a short to ground issue somewhere in the harness. I would check the black 9 pin connector that connects the main wiring harness to the engine harness. Also I'm not sure when you say loud noise from the motor what you're exactly talking about. It's it when driving you get a really high pitch wine? If that's it then it's a bearing in the transmission on the big pinion gear.
Awesome, just covered all as you did for the heat problem and for reducing the noise on the cab, I relocated the air filter under the hood on front. Thanks again for your advice
That will be one I can't answer. I think some guys have done 30in but there is a Odes owners group on Facebook you can join & I know a lot of guys will be able to tell you what they have put on theirs.
Question. I'm in Minnesota and there is a 2017 Odes UTV 650 Comrade with about 850miles on it at an Auction. Only issue it apparently has is with the E-brake. Current bid is around 4K. What is the value of this thing, the body/tires are in great shape. Any help I could get would be appreciated. Auction ends in about 8 hours
Those are very hard to get parts for & the front diff bow out & then they don't want to idle very well all the time. 4k is a lot for that thing. I think I doldrums them for about 7 new back in 2018
When you say no fuel, do you mean no fuel pump coming on? Check all you power & ground wires take sure they are not corroded. Then check to see if you have power running to your fuel pump & spark plug coils. I could be just a relay going bad are it could be the 9 pin connector getting corroded also
A clogged crankcase vent /pvc can definitely cause the engine to smoke because it's not letting the pressure from the crank case escape & it can cause blowby. Ivwould pull the hose off the crank case vent & start it up & see if that cures your problem but I'm going to say you're probably going to need a new topend most likely.
I Have a 2020 side by side axis 700. i am looking for a ob2 scanner for this make and model. Can i get something from Amazon or from you and what do you recommend? Hope you can help. I called Hisun and they will not cell one to individuels just dealers.
You can look up the hud hacker software. But I have been told you can use a standard ODB2 read with the 16pin to 9pin adapter. You can also try Orionpowersports.com look uo the Hawk DLX code scanner. It's about $400.00
I have a 2014 odes dominator 800. The 4x4 is not working. I don’t hear the actuator making any noise when I hit the 4x4 button. I have checked all fuses and relays. I also swapped the 4x4 button off another odes that I have and verified it’s not the button. Also, when I hit the 4x4 button, nothing comes up on the display to confirm it. However, when I click diff lock, I see it come up on the display, but still no noise or actual engagement. Any thoughts? Edit: I removed the actuator and now when I click the 4x4 button the relay clicks, but still no motor engagement
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 I replaced the actuator with a brand new one. It just clicks the solenoid. Replaced the solenoid and still just clicks? Thanks for the reply
Ok so if you remove the actuator & press the button, do you see is operating correctly? I have seen the fork on the inside of the diff break are bend & not let it go into 4x4
I have a 2016 odes 1000 i have replaced the battery, stator and rectifier. Battery light still on display and the system will not charge. Any thoughts....
A lot of people are just bypassing the wiring harness & extending the stator wires so they can just run the wiring directly from the stator & pug into the reg/rec. Did you check the charging voltage at the battery & the ac voltage on all 3 legs of the stator & ohms test it too? I have seen new stators that bad from the factory. You could also have a break in the harness itself.
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 So the stator was burned there is build up on the fly wheel could that be an issue?. I will go back do those test and get back to you.
Is it like cutting in & out? If so my guess you be the reverse speed controller. I know you're driving forward but they can cause that issue. But I would definitely check to make sure that non of the connectors are loose are that non of the wires are melted are pinched.
My family just bought a massimo 850 and the throttle is stuck wide open and we couldnt get the dealership to help, any ideas on what the issue could be? Appreciate anyone who gives advice
When you give it gas can you feel the pedal return back under your foot? It's a possibility that the throttle positions sensor is stuck wide open are the Iac motor is stuck wide open too. I would take the intake off & look inside your throttle body to make sure the butterfly is returning all the way. But you would need to plug a scanner into it to see where the TPS is set at.
Try messaging Terry, norwestsuspension.com He has a program for a laptop & sells the cable too. If he can help leave another comment & I'll see what else i can do
My hisun runs fine except every once and a while it will die with blue to black smoke rolling from muffler wait a few minutes starts up and goes like it is suspost to with no smokeing, it does idle 2000 rims there is no knocking, it sounds good, I don't know what is wrong
Well it should be idling around 1,200-1,400 rpms. Idling that high must make it hard to shift into & out of gear. Well the blue smoke would be from buting oil & the black would be from fuel. These units usually are programed to run rich. You can do an ecu reset & see it it helps this issue out.
The mass flow sensor was broke, I ordered a new one would that have something to do with it, I am having trouble with oil getting into the throttle body, I will try reset after I get my sensor, Thank you
Will the mass air flow sensor will help with fueling on this thing. But it definitely will not help with the oil and the throttle body issue. That would definitely be an issue with it pumping oil into the air box and then recycling it back into the throttle body. Sounds like you got major Blow by the piston. I would check it with a leak down tester to see how much leak down is blowing past a piston also a compression test will help identify that problem too but a leak down will do more than a compression test will. I'll let down test will let you know if the valves are seating properly and if you have blow by the piston
What make year and model of unit do you have? It could possibly be the crank sensor or it could be a relay, but it's easier for me if I know what unit you have
i have hisun 800. it is randomly blowing the ecu fuse. i disconnected the ecu and the fuse still blew as i switched it on. does anyone know if there is a part that connects to the harness that might cause this? the dead short comes and goes. no amount of twisting and moving the harness has made the problem either come or go when it happens. most of the time the dead short is not present so it is hard to locate the fault. as things are i do not dare to go longer distances on the atv.
The ECU fuse. I would check the white 9 pin connector. They get corroded & cause that issue. Also check the ecu pugs to make sure they are clean along with the ecu it's self..what year 800 do you have? Might have a wring diagram for it
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 it is made in 2011. hisun hs800 ATV i have gone over all connectors and no corrosion anywhere. when the fault was current it would blow the fuse when ecu was either plugged in or unplugged. but any time i try to disconnect parts to see if i can locate the short, the short has gone away. the dead short on the ecu fuse line will just randomly show itself and then go away. i pulled the loom to see if i could find short to frame but it all looks good. i am now hoping it might be one of the parts that connects to the loom that may be faulty but hard to find it when the fault is not currently present.
It's definitely a part that connects to the harness that is grounded out internally. Now does it only pop the fuse when the unit gets hot are just at random times when you just turn the key on & not run it?
I removed the plastics and had a fuse tester connected instead of the fuse. I wiggled the harness and checked all connectors. Now it has not done it again. But now I have a escalated problem of a starter kickback it is igniting to early as I am cranking it. When cold it starts out running on one cyl but slowly adds the other. Takes about 20 sec to be fully running on both. I did check the timing on the chain and cams. It is correct. Checked valve clearance it is correct. Changed out crank sensor. No change. Now I have ordered new Spark plugs Ignition coils Thermostat Code reader I'm guessing it is best to wait for the code reader so I can see what live data is showing me.

Shoot me an email @ Limitlesspowersports78@gmail.com & I'll send you the process
On massamo 500 ordered solenoid. Replaced starter battery. No start clicks. When jumped still no start. 2017 103 hrs. Can solenoid still be bad
On a 2017 odes 800 x4 lt Does a hard knocking sound automatically mean a main bearing or rod? Or is it possible for a sensor to cause this?
My wet clutch looked okay but the wet clutch housing drum was super worn. It had some pretty crazy ridges worn into it.
Have you taken a look at the clutches & the belt. I would point my finger there first.
Hey Cyle, I bought a Odes dominator 800 x4 and I have problem with the following; heat while driving it’s crazy, also change the ignition switch and it’s keeping damaging the new one after a few months of use and lastly the motor makes a huge noise. Can you please advise in any of these three issues
Regards
Yeah relocating that air filter under the hood makes a huge difference too. Did you ever figure out the issue with the ignition switch?
I am thinking about buying a 2023 jungle cross 800x5 ST what would be the tallest 8 ply tire could I put on that stock rim.
I think I doldrums them for about 7 new back in 2018
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 That's what I thought too. I saw brand new they were selling for about 7,999. I'm out. Thanks
Were would the transmission speed sensor be located on a 2010 700 hisun utv 4x4?
Most of them are in the rear differential
Hi there. I just bought a 16 bennche spire 1000. I have no fuel or spark.
When you say no fuel, do you mean no fuel pump coming on? Check all you power & ground wires take sure they are not corroded. Then check to see if you have power running to your fuel pump & spark plug coils. I could be just a relay going bad are it could be the 9 pin connector getting corroded also
Can the PVC cause engine smoking? What's the fix for the PVC?
It's about $400.00
My Odes is pulling to right in front. Air pressure is good. Any ideas?
Does your odes have eps? If so I have had them start to go out & pull in either direction. Also check the toe in & out of the front end
Sorry if you've answered this but can I used my OBD2 scanner with that adapter cable?
I believe your odb2 needs to be able read Delphi not 100% sure because I've always had the scan tool.

Those 4x4 actuator motors go bad all the time.
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 I replaced the actuator with a brand new one. It just clicks the solenoid. Replaced the solenoid and still just clicks? Thanks for the reply
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 Any thoughts?
Ok so if you remove the actuator & press the button, do you see is operating correctly? I have seen the fork on the inside of the diff break are bend & not let it go into 4x4
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 It won’t engage both out and in the diff. It doesn’t show anything on the display either
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394
So the stator was burned there is build up on the fly wheel could that be an issue?. I will go back do those test and get back to you.
My 16 1000x4 starts jumping and cutting out around 16mph. Any ideas? Shop put new transmission in it other thdn that's its all been done to it. TIA
I'm having issues finding a scanner. Can you help me with that please.
2015 hisun500 utv
I'll let down test will let you know if the valves are seating properly and if you have blow by the piston

i have hisun 800. it is randomly blowing the ecu fuse. i disconnected the ecu and the fuse still blew as i switched it on. does anyone know if there is a part that connects to the harness that might cause this? the dead short comes and goes. no amount of twisting and moving the harness has made the problem either come or go when it happens. most of the time the dead short is not present so it is hard to locate the fault. as things are i do not dare to go longer distances on the atv.
The ECU fuse. I would check the white 9 pin connector. They get corroded & cause that issue. Also check the ecu pugs to make sure they are clean along with the ecu it's self..what year 800 do you have? Might have a wring diagram for it
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394
it is made in 2011. hisun hs800 ATV
i have gone over all connectors and no corrosion anywhere. when the fault was current it would blow the fuse when ecu was either plugged in or unplugged. but any time i try to disconnect parts to see if i can locate the short, the short has gone away. the dead short on the ecu fuse line will just randomly show itself and then go away. i pulled the loom to see if i could find short to frame but it all looks good. i am now hoping it might be one of the parts that connects to the loom that may be faulty but hard to find it when the fault is not currently present.
No change. Now I have ordered new
Spark plugs
Ignition coils
Thermostat
Code reader
I'm guessing it is best to wait for the code reader so I can see what live data is showing me.
