I’m working on a madsimo 500 utv. All the internals look the same. Put everything back together and when I put it in gear it starts grinding and then stalls as if something isn’t engaging. Replaced the wet clutch one way bearing and I’ve also replaced the same cut primary clutch. Everything engages and works as it should in neutral but in gear it starts grinding and stalls the engine. Any insight or recommendations to inspect would be greatly appreciated!
. Sorry for the delayed response. In currently out if town with the race team I work with. But it definitely sounds like you install the oneway bearing backwards. You need to be able to read the writing when you install it onto the wet clutch. Also the primary clutch should spin counter clockwise went not running & then engaged & turn the motor over when rotated clockwise. That's where I would start. If you have anymore questions email at Limitlesspowersports78@gmail.com
What year & motor size is your volunteer? You can find parts on cubcadet.com under utility vehicles. You aslo need your modle #. Makes finding parts the much easier. But I would buy from them because they are crazy over priced.
Where do you get your parts from I'm having similar problems on our hs500utv efi command and what's part number for the good gates belt. I wanna replace the gear teeth and secondary and primary and maybe wet clutch
I order my parts from multiple places. I get some from Amazon, but most come from motorcycledoctor.com & partsboss.com I unfortunately don't have a part # for a good gates belt. You might have to contact them.
It's a really good possibility because what happens is that the outer primary clutch is no longer in the proper position on the wet clutch drum shaft. So it's a possibility with that being wrong the nut that holds the primary clutch on might not of been able to ne torqued properly.
Lol 😆 I almost never give up. I don't mind working on these units because they make really good TH-cam content & there's not much information out there on them. I personally do not own one & I never will.
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 hopefully repairs will be made and I can get a Honda after selling mine and what a loss nine thousand spent hopefully I can get seven thousand for it
Looks like the primary clutch nut wasn't tightened up and it backed off the shaft to me bugging up the threads on the shaft 🤔
Oh yeah definitely messed up the splines on the shaft and jammed itself into the cage bearing LOL
You must apply foot brake to release the pin for reverse.
Yeah I forgot about that when I was shooting the video. I looked down & saw the pin & was like damn I forgot I need to step on the brake lol
THANK YOU FOR THIS COMMENT!!!! I literally never noticed I was hitting the brake sometimes and it was only intermittently working.

I have a cub cadet volunteer was wondering if the secondary clutch was the same and if so would you happen to know the part number? Thanks in advance

What do you charge seems like all the shops charge an arm and a leg is it better to just buy a new buggy
I think with parts and labor this job was only $500-$600. My shop rate is $125 an hour now and when this video came out I think it was only $100
Is it the misplaced washer that caused this damage?

A+++++
Give up and sell it for what you can get, I bought one and at 75 miles the rear end gave up, I have buyers remorse for sure 😢
