@@RenegadeHPG they are ugly I wish I would have spent the money I wasted on them to get real mechs like a victor or something. I think only 1 or 2 of them looks decent.
Thanks for this reveiw. I've waited more than thirty years for somebody to do decent plastic miniatures in a consistent scale. Have you tried removing any of these new models from the bases? I loathe those hex bases, always have.
Yeah I always remove them once I've painted them. It is quite easy. They have round pegs on the bottom of the feet which are glued into holes in the base. Usually the pegs will split at the connection point, but once in a blue moon you can get a clean separation.
Thanks! Good to know! I'll likely put them on home made bases, 40-50mm discs of 1.5mm sheet styrene, scored to give something for the green stuff putty I use for groundwork to grab into. Some bits of twisted guitar string and a few bits from the junk box, cut to " sink " them into the groundwork. All brought together with an application of white glue , then builders sand. Paint with thinned black when dry and finish with your ground colour . My game group uses our own stripped down version of the Classic Battletech rules, where hex bases are unnecessary.
I guess you didn't get the memo they changed the scale from 1:285 to 1:265 and that many of these mechs are based on Maccross, which led to many lawsuits.

Yeah, I'm pumped for the Comstar lances. Lots of great new sculpts there that haven't received much attention in the past.
Had to revise my order to get a IS lance with a Wolfhound. Next mech to get is a Centurion.

Considering he has the ral partha in blister I'm pretty sure he knows the story about HG and its annoying lawsuits.
